  1. You'd be better off making it less, IMO - more people would jump on. $150 for 150 more years - $12.50 p/month for a year.
  2. Best on ground last week for Sandy 2s.
  3. I think he's probably still at least a week away, given that he played for Sandy 2's last weekend.
  4. On-field, I think he does the things that you'd like your captain to do. Green also seems to be able to speak well in the media. However, that's not all the captain does, and there's talk that he's fairly quiet around the Club, so perhaps he's made for captaincy.
  5. I think it was his first, yeah. From memory, he was dropped after that game. Petterd was indeed good in that game. He was BOG for Sandringham 2's on the weekend, so I think he'll get a run with Sandy (1s) this week.
  6. I saw Lloyd's mark on TV, and Davey's at the game. I thought Davey's was more exciting - quite similar, but Davey's leap was better. I agree that Lloyd will win, though. I think you'll be able to vote here: http://www.afl.com.au/competitions/markgoal/index.html
  7. Lets not annoint him just yet, but I thought he was pretty good. It's great to see him kicking the ball, and looking comfortable doing so. I hope he continues to play good football for the rest of the year.
  8. DB talked up his chances of senior selection at the after-match function vs Collingwood, and I think Whelan's already proved himself as fit at Sandringham - he was in contention for selection yesterday (only to be named as an emergency). I'm not sure why he didn't play for Sandy on the weekend, but if it was in case he was called up for the Dees (edit: and this is my guess, considering the other two emergencies played), he's a good chance to come into the side this week.
  9. He may be the 'magic' man, but at the moment he doesn't have the polish - or the legs - to be that guy.
  10. I agree. If you're playing on a man, ideally you're quicker than him, since he's dictating where you're going.
  11. They play a different role, but I see your point. However, Bode got another game on the back of what I thought was a pretty average game versus Collingwood, so it seems DB sees something in him, and is willing to give him a run (albeit without much game time). I thought Bode looked better yesterday - who was he playing on? I wouldn't be unhappy to see Bode dropped, but wouldn't be surprised to see him given more opportunities at AFL level this year.
  12. Whelan and Valenti would be nice 'ins'. From where I was sitting, Frawley didn't have much impact. To me, Yze is finished, as he lacks that polish that he used to have (and isn't in the team for his bullocking work). Morton's disposal wasn't good, but he's still finding the footy - not sure what'd be best for him. Perhaps he didn't play because he was an emergency for the Dees game.
  13. It was huge - put Lloyd's mark on Saturday night to shame
  14. I think I was watching the same game as Dalrot Fair point re: inside 50 targets though.
  15. I'd disagree with that - he doesn't have great skills. Agree re: his marking and decent form a couple of years ago, though.
  16. Hrm. Btw, probably more relevant to have a look at the # of games played, and age, of the majority of our team that does get out there. Either way, I agree with your point (although didn't find the game terribly frustrating).
  17. Some general comments - Green's 'soft' tag has always surprised me a bit, and his dedication and desperation were obvious yesterday. Miller's kicking was a joy to behold, and I can only hope he has that type of mindset for the rest of his career. I thought Bartram was good. He did a fair bit offensively, making good position to present an option. Garland looked really good at times - a class above a few of the other guys out there. Wheatley also finds the footy, but his disposal also really let him down yesterday (to a lesser extent than Morton, though). PJ was a little disappointing around the ground, and hasn't found the form that he was in during the early part of the season IMHO. Morton let himself down with his disposal by foot, but makes good position and tries to assist teammates by shepherding etc - I'm still a fan. Warnock does some good things, and isn't afraid to attack the ball, but yesterday wasn't one of his best. Yze knows how to get into attacking positions, but doesn't have that Yze polish that he used to (how far can he kick it these days?). PS. CJ was worth of his spot.
  18. Haha, very nice work from Cometti.
  19. I think it's understandable that membership is higher when the team is going well (or is likely to). Many people buy a membership each year they can, regardless of form, but for others the membership is more about a season ticket to the footy rather than a quasi-donation to the Club. The latter want entertainment and value-for-money, something they won't get if the Club is going poorly or they can't attend games. I'm not sure we have more than our fair shar of 'fickle' supporters. There's a general trend in all sports for membership to drop-off after poor form, and many other Clubs in the AFL have peaks and troughs that reflect on-field performance.
  20. His last game wasn't great, either. I think he might be in a little bit of a slump, but he's still finding the footy. Definitely one of my highlights of the year - a reason to go to the games some weeks.
  21. I know he was frequently on the bench, but I'm not sure how much time he was there during the 2nd quarter.
  22. Worthy of his spot, which is all I was hoping for.
