    JJ in. Brayshaw out.

    We need 3 kpd.

Salem to be forward. Been trash for weeks. Maybe try as Melksham type.

    Salem fritch anb

    Koz grundy Chandler.

    I'm drunk.

Do we need 3 talls? I agree about going a little smaller and ‘lowering the eyes’ to a moving target in space.

Dumb ‘bombing it in long’ is clearly not working! Particularly when the tall forward cupboard is bare

If you think this is THE important metric - it is helpful to think about the advantage he give to the team beyond his goal scoring or current lack thereof.

He is 19 for gods sake.... 19, he is 19, nineteen years old

So, anyway he is 19, 19 years old and he is helping the team you love win games and are currently sitting 5-0, due to the way that he plays the game, spreads the opposition backmen, and also by the way he doesnt score goals. Did I mention we are 5-0 with a range of goal scorers who are coming in to play due to how he plays the game.

If I think about it really hard - he is 19 and whilst he is 19 - he could have scored a minimum 5 more goals more, than he currently has, due to the fact that he is 19, and the fact that TMAC kicked a goal that was his last week in the goal square, and that Petracca kicked a goal the week prior (the first for the game) due to a sublime palm down in to his path.. and 3 more for good measure.

So going on that rate - as a 19 year old - he would have 6 goals in 5 games... 6 goals for a 19 year old - so by the end of round 20 he would have 24.

Does that change how he is seen?

@leave it to deever - you're been far to harsh mate on a 19 yo

God help me - I was only 19“

Tom Mcdonald isn't going to be apart of our future mate. Like I said, he has been playing well so credit to him. I don't read too much into stats. He had 22 touches but a lot of them were in the backline. So I'd prefer to have Ben Brown who is a bigger target inside 50m to straighten us up. Weideman also comes in after kicking 7.

If he keeps playing the way he is, he will absolutely be part of our future. He had a great game on the weekend and I’d be totally shocked and disappointed if he’s dropped this weekend.

I’m incredibly proud of Tommy and the way he’s got his body right and fought back from a tough year or two, and going up for trade. He deserves some success. Bloody impressive  turnaround so far!

So you're happy with us having a highly paid former pick 3 playing as a defensive winger, who kicks it badly, doesn't tackle much or apply pressure, and plays 70% game time; because a different player at a different club did well in their BnF last year?...

Find it strange how quickly people look to make excuses for Gus. He's under performing. Simple as that. No pressure, poor delivery, but apparently he's going better than anyone thinks because he's, what, filling space? Come on.

2 tackles and 10 pressure acts a game for a former pick 3 'defensive winger'. Who says Dees fans accept mediocrity hey...

PS - McIntosh didn't get any coaches votes, so not totally sold on your 'high B&F votes' theory.

    Some good points Nev!
Why Gus in this role - I don’t understand. Can’t he be used in the guts to deliver more impact. Use a less damaging player as defensive winger?

  5. “It was Collingwood's fourth game in 14 days and it showed, as it suffered some uncharacteristic defensive breakdowns”.
This is a telling quote from an article today. So while this was one of the best wins I’ve seen in recent times, I think we need to reflect carefully, rotate a couple of our guys around based on form, and with an eye towards having a larger list of ‘match fit’ players for our period of multiple 4 day breaks.  Play Preuss if Max not fully fit, bring in Bennell.

I'll leave that discussion to more educated minds than me re Bruekner, Burgess etc. But could one factor not just be time? Freo might've gotten him right if they'd stuck with it. If we'd taken HB back in 2014 or so we would've given up on him too already, and another club would be in the position we are in now, with him ready to play.

Surgery on calves, to remove a minor muscle that inflamed nerve. Great diagnosis and reasonably new or innovative surgery if I remember correctly. Hence he can now train well and get fit without major setback (so far... touch wood).

But they do. The question is where and why has it disappeared.

That kids bleeds red and blue. What has happened to this group?

    I agree.

Is it only form and injuries, so the group sees this rationale and drop the effort by 1%?

Should we see more anger and frustration in our leaders?  Probably

Problem is, confidence is a cancer. Team is hurting, like the supporters. Next year ...

Just had a look back through the weekly injury reports.

    Stephen May

    Round 4: 2 - 3 weeks

    Round 5: 2 - 4 weeks

    Round 6: 4 weeks

Now I understand the human body is unbelievably complicated, but how does a players recovery go so dramatically  backwards when he is supposedly benefiting from being in an elite sporting environment.

I guess the alternative question is why put an estimated return date on players when the club clearly has no real idea.

    Re-injury. Horrible bloody luck
