  1. I think he was busy finishing off his equivalent of War and Peace, called "Why Tyson shouldn't play".
  2. Absolutely no way I can see where Oscar stuffed up in that clip. You are underestimating how seriously good that kick was. Our entire team were out of position once Clarry lost the ball. We had players running forward of the ball, and as soon as we turned it over, Essendon had players streaming forward. That 10-15 metre burst that Zaharakis got because of the turnover meant that Oscar was that 10-15 metres ahead of where the ball ended up being marked. By the time he realised the mistake was made up the field, he ran straight back but the bird had flown by then. Absolutely nothing he could do about that.
  3. That's not how it works on here. He could increase those things tenfold, win 3 Bluey's, a Brownlow and Norm Smith, but as soon as he has 1 miss-kick, there'll be a community coming down from the trees to berate him.
  4. You've been saying we shouldn't chase him if he is pushed out?
  5. Ah, so your contribution to this thread is that Wines could be pushed out of Port because of cap issues. But if that happens, we shouldn't be the ones chasing him? I'm sure you can understand why I have misinterpreted your point.
  6. I can assure you of one thing - he WILL leave Port. Highly likely that it will be at the end of his career, but you can take it to the bank that he will stop playing for them one day. My initial issue was with your little fantasy of Wines being forced out of Port because of salary cap issues, but we'd be in a position to fit him in ours. You can create any scenario with imagination, so I admire you for that, but your views on this one were always going to be off the mark.
  7. Ok, I will seek your views when this does actually happen, which it will, so I'd suggest you start considering your response.
  8. Read the first 2 or 3 pages of this thread, in particular, yours, mine and DaveyDees discussions. You were hopeful that Port may have had salary cap issues, which could've forced Wines out. I was telling you that they wouldn't put themselves in the position of forcing out Wines because of the players they brought in. Now it looks certain he's extending for another 2 years, so I'm wondering what your thoughts are now on this topic.
  9. @TeamPlayedFine39 @DaveyDee So, with the imminent extension to Wines' contract, can we presume that they will be breaching their salary cap? Or do we put it down to list management doing what they do best? I know which way I'm going.
  10. Said it before, and will say it again, he's a rich man's Jeremy Howe.
  11. Are these the 2018 "guns pics".
  12. Sounds like a day in the life of uncle @Bitter but optimistic
  13. You could also add MELB to the left cheek, and URNE to the right. Would create a nice balance...
  14. I'm more concerned that things from the 90s are now considered "retro".
  15. I think it was a bit busy, but could've easily been neatened up. Still think it's the best though, but it's a personal taste thing.
  16. Probably in the minority, but I still love the Schwab-designed "shield" logo the most of all the above.
  17. Think about it. Would they bring in Motlop and Rockliffe on big enough dollars to push one of their leaders, and best players, out of the club?
  18. Never heard of front/backloading contracts? You are questioning experts in their field, all while using media reports as part of your weaponry. Truly amazing.
  19. In the compensation formula, how much does a player's contract have to be worth to be deemed a 1st round compo pick? Let's not forget we got a 1st round pick for Frawley - his contract was around the $450k mark. The avg AFL salary is $371k - not exactly "poo-change" either. With the cap at some $12m+, $500k a season isn't a lot for a middle tier player. We have no idea how much each player is on, and by "we", I mean the media too. But sure, use their "reports" to help your argument if you wish, I just won't give your side any credit if you do.
  20. I would be horribly surprised if they paid overs for any of the three they brought in. Geelong (Motlop) and Brisbane (Rockliffe) wanted both players gone, and we were the same, so much so that we are still paying part of his contract. You've allowed yourself to believe what you read in the many articles about the Power's recruiting/trade "bonanza" at the end of last season. They picked up 3 players that weren't wanted by their original club because of a range of issues, and if you want to add Trengove (who I sincerely hope gets to play senior footy), it was a cheap risk that hasn't made them any better.
  21. And you don't think our purse will be tight when Oliver, Trac, Gawn and Hogan are next our of contract? Let's not forget they paid SFA for Watts, which was made even less given we are paying part of his contract.
  22. You complain about Joel's skills, then whinge because we didn't pick up Dylan Grimes instead? Wow.
  23. As long as Joel's not being caught out spending company dollars on the 3Ps (porn, punt and prostitutes).
  24. Pretty sure someone was posting here a few weeks ago claiming that our clash jumper won't be white. Didn't give it away, but I got the feeling it would be a red jumper with a blue v (opposite to our traditional strip). Can't remember who is was, but I think they post here a bit.
  25. And that's why I was content with what we paid for Lever. We are three years away from needing to worry about youth coming through.
