  1. Every year I post about how my son gives the Dees another chance , and every year we let him down . I talk about how we are on the up, but like a broken record,I lose his trust. He is fifteen now, and he has probably witnessed four of five wins in his life. The last six years have been terrible and , whenever football is talked about with family or friends he is genuinely angry about being made a Demon from birth, like its a curse that he could change if he could. Today I took him to see us play the Blues, surely we were a big chance to win? Nope, rotten luck again, just like the Stkilda and Essendon games we went to this year. I am totally gutted at how this pathetic lot have made a kid growing up feel....I resent them as a club....and I take it personally when they put on that sort of effort, like they did in the first half today. Surely they realise the hell they are putting us through, with their insipid displays? I feel sick in the guts.....every damn year.
  2. Well there goes another wasted year.....played above ourselves in a few games, but at the end if the day still a poor bottom four team, striving to be a mediocre middle rung team. Couldn't win two in a row, could win at Etihad, couldn't win the games we were supposed to etc etc. Every time we get an opportunity to prove otherwise , we only prove that we are not up to the task. Don't want it bad enough.
  3. Watts was good today, probably one of the only ones out there who did play with some heart.
  4. We have to offer Danger two million a year....we are that desperate for an A grader and some leadership.
  5. Roos said we had to play like maniacs this week after two pathetic starts in previous weeks. Ummmmm talk the talk....walk the walk?
  6. We still don't have any star mids....just a few B graders who are inconsistent. This is why any team we play thinks they are a chance to beat us. I bet Carlton went into this weeks game, thinking put them under heaps of tackling pressure in the first quarter and they will wilt,as they don't have any stars to lead the way. We will always be getable by anybody untill we recruit or develop our own A grade mids. Viney and Brayshaw may develop into good ones but we have no one to lead the way.
  7. One things for sure after today's game, and that is Cripps will be rising star. Also shows the importance of a star mid over a star forward.
  8. The day this bloke runs out for the Mighty Dees again will be a very emotional return....I really hope it happens. Interesting he is using Gawnys two years out with injury as motivation ,look at big Treebeard now. We all know how Trenners looked slow in his last couple of years, and he was a gun junior, so fingers crossed he can get back to somewhere near his best.
  9. Sadly won't be remembered as a great Dee or a great Cat....that's what happens when you leave a club chasing success and the success part doesn't happen.
  10. Lumumba does not deserve to be a leader....has had a very ordinary year, and doesn't show the way at all on field.
  11. Or...."we need to bounce back this week" Which is what they said after last weeks loss. Or...".that third quarter showed what we can do" Which really means nothing if you play someone like Bulldogs who probably ran out of steam they belted us so hard.
  12. What annoyed me the most was that after being thrashed in the first quarter last week, exactly the same thing happened again. Surely they would have gone into this game all guns blazing considering the poor start the previous week. 2016 will be a watershed year for us....must win two in a row, must win at Etihad, and win 9 games minimum.
  13. Just as I always had faith in big Maxy, I have the same sort of feel about Fitzy. He has all the tools to be a good player, great pace and ground skills for one so tall, good mark and kick. Should only get better with age as most big men do.
  14. Bullcrap! We have more upside than North or Richmond. Just ask Brayshaw Petracca and Gawn, three youngsters who have extended their contracts.
  15. This is a good point. When we attract average players from other clubs and pay them over and above what our own home grown stars are worth ,such as Howe. I would rate Howe twice the player Lumumba is. The agenda should be to keep our own good talent, not trade them for average talent or picks where you don't know what you are going to get.
  16. I've been really disappointed with Lumumba this year, I thought he would give us some run and carry , but just doesn't get it enough. I don't think he has been in the best players in any game this year.
  17. Wow...I almost shed a tear.
  18. One of the more ridiculous comments I've read on this site. Jack Watts is becoming a vital Cog in a young team that's going places, and easily one of the most skilled players in the competition.
  19. 6.Vince 5.Vince 4.Vince 3.Vince 2.Vince 1.Vince [censored] I love the [censored].
  20. They are also a team full of runners, we'd don't have much genuine pace at all. Most of our on ballers can get their hands on the footy, but it stops there. Jones, Viney, Tyson Vince , all good in and under but also all slow.
  21. I expected 7 to 8 wins and maybe even winning two games in a row. I think we will be lucky to end up with 6 wins this year. So in my book a fail. For Roos to say we have improved and all we have to do is convert it to wins is wrong, because our skills have been deplorable.
  22. I hate being a Demons supporter, it's nothing but misery....Groundhog Day , every week, every month , every year. Roos has had us for nearly two years and we are still a bottom 4 team....win one , lose the next six, lose when we think we have a chance, and sneak up on teams that are having a bad day, like geelong, Bulldogs, Richmond etc... I'm venting a bit more than normal, because now I'm seeing my kids upset, as they are giving the team a chance and going to games, and coming home miserable.....I'm just sick of this [censored] , sad excuse for a football team.....FFS .....GROW SOME BALLS! You'd think they would be hard as nails, and champing at the bit for success, play like animals, for a chance to win two in a row even, but no, tentative , error riddled, tame and lame.
  23. It's too late now ,we had an opportunity to win two even three in a row and build some respect. Not good enough....don't want it bad enough....too bloody soft. I think we will be lucky to win another game for the year now.
  24. Paul Roos game plan is now out dated. Just look at the Swans they are going no where and they have players like Hannebery and Franklin.
  25. My son and I were watching both the soccer and the footy switching channels and found ourselves watching more soccer as it was a better game and Ronaldo was amazing. Nearly 100k at the G and just over 20 k at Etihad. The AFL really stuffed up big time this season scheduling Carlton for 7 Friday night games....what the hell were they thinking? No one thought they would be this bad this year, but a top six side they never were,it's just a stupid decision putting all their eggs in one basket. It's going to cost them a lot more than bums on seats and TV ratings.
