  1. Exactly. Back when Collingwood did their tank there was no where near the media hype their is now even though it was mentioned in dispatches. They had one down season and experimented a fair bit themselves to ensure they got 2 top 5 draft picks. Its in the wake of Carlton's unparalleled effort to tank games that's brought about all the tanking hyperbole that we've had to endure.
  2. Got no preference who we take as I haven't seen either player and trust our recruiters. However, after the pros and cons are taken into account if we rate Butcher and Trengove roughly the same I think we have to go Butcher. Remember the guy is nearing 200cm and going by the logic that bigger blokes take more time to show something I'd say he's shown more than enough form in the champs last year and the TAC cup to be selected at 2. The guy is not exactly built either going by the youtube videos, so he wouldn't have been monstering others kids at lower levels like Tom Hawkins did in school footy who was pretty much a tank already when he got drafted.
  3. Agreed on your points Jaded. As far as I'm concerned the last two years were just about turning over our list and developing the young players that will be there for our premiership tilt in a few years. Dean Bailey should be given at least 2 more years after next year to develop the list that he has built up and to realistically see what he can do. I think that's an acceptable to time frame to see any real improvement. Granted we all expect some improvement next year. It'd be very smalltime to just get rid of bailey after next year, if there is some improvement, for a past champ who would get a list brimming with talent and did not go through the slog of trying to coach the substandard list we have had for the past couple of seasons.
  4. Thanks Doggo and everyone else for their reports. Couldn't get down there today or watch it on telly. Much appreciated. Loving the sound of scully.
  5. I saw that too and was really disappointed with miller. Lift your own game miller before you start doing rubbish like that. I've always liked miller but the fact that he aint the most talented player means he has got to show better leadership than that to make up for it.
  6. Agreed, think he's got all the ingredients to be a stellar full back. The fact that he's still learning the game it would make more sense to just let him learn one position first before you start fiddling or else he'll end up being a jack of all trades but a master of none.
