There's no way they'd get rid of Fev. Without him there's no team. Who's going to kick the goals? Eddie Betts? Besides, would Scully fit into their midfield? Anywho, we wouldn't go for the deal, so I dunno why they're seriously bothering to entertain the thought.

I figured as much, this week. One week too early to be in the team.
-
I'd prefer PJ over Seaby. At least he has some upside...Seaby, frankly has bugger all.
-
I'd prefer T.McNamara, R.Bail, P.Johnson, and S.Buckley. Give Sylvia one more week.

I don't think this is such a strange move. I want to see Jones get more tagging roles, because if he doesn't develop that part of his game, I don't see him playing many when Scully and co arrive. I thought someone was tagging Cousins...what he did he did extremely well, but he didn't get as many disposal as I thought he would, particularly early on. He only had early 20s? I think he must have had someone tracking him. Once again, I think these are arguably good, inventive moves. The sort of moves Daniher would never make. Johnson is extremely quick and I believe could match it with Riewoldt and an aging Brown. He's lost the confidence to ruck properly and play forward, but giving him a job, where he is to just beat one player and nothing else, is probably good for him at the moment. A lot of people (especially in the papers) don't seem to be giving Johnson credit for his speed and agility. Okay, so he's been disappointing this season, but he certainly boasts those two characteristics. I've gotta say I didn't notice this. Good pick up. I was genuinely enthralled (almost nail biting) and hoping for a loss that I didn't pick up a rather obvious detail like this. Having said all of the above, I agree with you. Massive experimentation, but I still think a few of the moves that have been pointed out, aren't quite as bizarre as some would have you believe. Furthermore, in term's of player output, Carlton's was absolutely woeful, whereas we tried our guts out. Don't do this. Robbo is the sort of player that would do well against a struggling side, but no one else. He'd probably move himself to full forward anyway. It seems you might get your wish here. Bail hardly had a touch in the Casey 1sts last week, but apparently he may play this week. Whilst, Zomer apparentloy had a good one, by his standards this season. Once again, this is ideal. I think Moloney will be out for one more, but there's no way we can keep Sylvia and Morton out again. Although, the media hasn't picked up on Morton yet, but they're hot on Sylvia. Agreed, though.

Rohan Bail likely for Sunday's game
Adam The God replied to ChannellingHopgoodAgro's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is a surprise, I must say. Peter German said they might have brought him up a week too early to the Casey seniors and now all of a sudden he's going to get an AFL starting berth? Well, I suppose that is clever list management. Good luck to him. -
Agreed.

We tried getting Seaby (was it last season or the one before that?). I don't think we'll have another go, because Bailey and co seem to be focused on purely young talent, not rejects. Still, I could be wrong.

That makes me feel a lot more confident. Thanks for that, PeterJames!

Who would you choose with our #2 draft pick?
Adam The God replied to cooko's topic in Melbourne Demons
Scully is an inside mid, but he's also an outside mid. I'm not sure which video you've watched of him, AzzKikA, but are you sure it's Tom Scully? He wins the ball on the inside and also racks up possessions running past players. He can win the ball anywhere and everywhere. If he keeps the ball on a string, like he's done when I've watched him, at AFL level, then he'll be a superstar. To say he's just like what we've got is ridiculous. Colin Sylvia and perhaps Jack Grimes are the only other two players, on our list, that have shown me that they can win the ball out or in. -
Thank god I don't support the tigers!
Adam The God replied to Grand New Flag's topic in Melbourne Demons
At this stage, that is more likely. -
Well said, Redleg. I strongly agree.

Coming off the Bench .PossibleTactic?
Adam The God replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is an interesting topic actually. I was thinking about it myself, yesterday. Whilst, watching the Eagles v Essendon match, Worsfold used this tactic a number of times, to allow free players on the wing. -
I know it's very early and dangerous in many ways to talk about this too early, but hypothetically, we get the first two picks in the national draft and we end up drafting both Scully and Trengove do you sign them for 4 to 5 years (can you do that?), to prevent Trengove from leaving within our premiership window? Wow, what a thoroughly negative and cynical post.

He would only intimidate defenders if he was dangerous. He barely kicks any goals and therefore 99% of the time is totally ineffective. I see Bate, Pettard and even Watts playing that lead up role. We don't need Miller for anything else, as he doesn't provide anything else. His leadership this year has been non-existent. I'd be seriously considering delisting him. Especially, if we pick up another tall forward in this years draft. I'd put game time into him next year. Miller wouldn't even be getting a game with players like LJ, Wonna and Watts to come back into the side, therefore he'd be list clogging. The fact that we've kept a player with Miller's limited ability and extremely modest output, for so many seasons, makes me think we'll hold onto Newton after next year's end. Unless, the FD make the decision and delist Miller and Newton (if the latter doesn't perform next year).

Will the tanking cheapen any future success?
Adam The God replied to Nasher's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nope, wouldn't give it a second thought. Carlton are a dirty bunch, but I can tell you right now, they couldn't give a rats about 2007. -
Dunn's a bit of an average player, but I'd have him ahead of Miller in that forwardline. I just wonder if his time is up? He was hapless yesterday.
-
Wasn't Grimes brilliant today? If he had another season under his belt, I'd just about give him the captaincy.
-
For someone who went to 15 of our 22 games last season and 13 so far this season, yes, we bloody well do deserve it. Whilst, we've definitely improved since the gloomy days of 2008, we still need help and that's what the system is for. Getting lowly teams off the bottom of the ladder.
-
Agreed. But in the end, I can't believe how well it's panned out for us.
-
You did. I had a laugh myself. :D
-
We could still beat the Roos too. I don't think we will, but on today's performance we could very well win it. Then there's Carlton, who aren't the most reliable side either.

Agreed. That said, I think I saw enough of him last week to indicate he's worth a game next year.
