  1. I'd be happy if he got between 10 and 15 touches. Any more and we're probably expecting too much of him.
  2. Ah yeah, cool. My mate's becoming quite the DJ, still hasn't played a venue yet, but will soon. As will my band, we're a bit slow on the uptake. My mates are big on the hardcore electro scene at the moment, not a big fan myself. Do you like MSTRKRFT's stuff? By the sounds of it, I reckon you would. Particularly, their first album. And Van She Tech maybe too? Their remix of Gravity's Rainbow by Klaxons is just the bomb. Old, but awesome.
  3. Well, to be honest, I think the first 5 to 10 minutes of a match we struggle with too. The amount of times this year that a goal has been kicked quickly against us would be quite high. That said, as the season has progressed we've improved in this area. Certainly, the general pattern earlier in the year was to conceed the first goal or two and then work ourselves back into the contest and be close by quarter time.
  4. No I was guessing. I hadn't seen the extended teams yet. But it still kind of applies to the final team.
  5. It is unfair on Martin, but he'll be back. When he does come back, play him down back please, Bails. Playing Martin out of position might just be a form of 'clever' player management. We also have Garland to come back eventually, where the heck are we going to fit all these players? It does bode well for depth though.
  6. Yeah, I was thinking replace Macca with Jones, then have an interchange bench of: P Johnson, A Maric, J Bennell, M Newton.
  7. In: Watts, Robertson, Cheney Out: Miller, Martin, Macca We might have to sacrifice one of our defenders, say Martin, in place of Robbo or Watts. The only issue is balance then. Will bringing a small defender in for a key position back/forward present us with problems? The Pies aren't that big, so we might get by this week. Macca has been a great servant to the club, but it's clear the game is past him. The knee injury he sustained last week could give the club the perfect reason to sit him out for QB.
  8. I don't think we'll get many more. I hope you're right though, condemned!
  9. Which genres and bands/artists are MFC supporters up with? Some of my favourite artists are The Smiths, Bloc Party, Foals, Editors, Interpol, Starky, The Dirty Secrets, The Bravery, Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode, The Kooks, MSTRKRFT, Klaxons, Death From Above 1979, Metronomy, Modest Mouse, Billy Bragg, M83, Phoenix, Red Riders, Santogold/Santigold, CSS, Cut Copy, The Presets, The Killers, selected Franz Ferdinand, selected Kings of Leon (mostly earlier stuff), The Postal Service, The Strokes, The Whip, Van She Tech. I love 80s pop (new wave-synth pop+post punk), most indie disco stuff, dance punk, indie rock, bits of pop, bits of house, bits of electro.
  10. Ditto. Each time Maric gets the ball across half forward, I usually expect him hit a target. Likewise, Grimes off the back flank and Davey and Morton are the best kicks in our side. Sylvia's improvement is slowly rising. Hopefully he can break QB open.
  11. Completely agree, Lord Travis.
  12. 69,000ish About 25, maybe 30 of us and 40 of them. Plus another 5.
  13. It's just a pity we can't do it every week. Granted, I'm incredibly excited by this. Got a text from my old man in a lecture today and shook my fist at the lecturer in celebration. :D What a [censored].
  14. Not a chance in hell. We'll now hopefully get 70,000 and even that's pushing it. I hope you're right, but there's no way we'll get near 80,000.
  15. Haha, was thinking the same thing, as long as his sister doesn't see it on my profile. Would seem a little weird.
  16. It's an interesting point this, because most people seem to be going to a like for like, with Miller making way for Watts. I don't really have a solution to it myself.
  17. Jones will play. It's the sort of game he'll do well in. I don't recall the Pies having extreme pace through the middle. It's against these teams he'll struggle, but against the likes of the black and white, he'll be a ball magnet. As for Bell, there's no way he'll get dropped this week. I don't think he should be in the long term plans for us, as we've got rising stars off half back, coming out of our behinds, but there's no point in bringing Bell in for one game and dropping him. Bailey will give him at least 2 or 3, if not more, before deciding on Bell. He is playing for his career and Bailey will want to see the best that he can deliver.
  18. I can't see there only being two changes this week. I think there'll be at least three.
  19. Agreed. Though I'd add Newton as well, though I suspect I'm alone there.
  20. To me it seems like he'll play off a flank or out of a pocket, playing that dangerous finisher/crumber role. I think he did his job last week. At least from the opportunities that arrose to him. I agree, he's gonna be a beauty.
