  1. You offer Pendles big money and a four year contract, but you don't put ridiculous Sydneyesque/GWSesque deals about. The AFL will bail those two out, but the MFC aren't on such solid ground. A lucrative four year deal could still be very enticing for Pendles/Trisomy 21.
  2. All good decisions. Well done, list management. I still count about 12 players on our senior list that I would hope are slowly surpassed over the next season or two.
  3. I reckon the Pies will go for a slider at 6 and we'll have a decision to make. Freeman, Lennon or Crouch. I hope we pick Freeman. We need those sorts of line breakers. Lennon doesn't seem to have that ability.
  4. Could be it, but I reckon there was simply minimal to no interest in any of our potential discards. We didn't want to throw players away for nothing like last trade period, so we held tight.
  5. You're being facetious, P. Surely? I couldn't give a toss about poor old "Beamer". He used to [censored] me up the wall as a player, but he also left a sinking ship. Remember what he told McLean to do when he jumped ship?
  6. Mike Sheahan, Martin Flanagan, Emma Quayle. Three names that spring to mind. They all have one thing in common and interestingly enough they are three of the most insightful, thoughtful journalists.
  7. I've finally settled on Jones as the next captain. With some midfield support, it'll allow him to carry the captaincy as well. Grimes needs to concentrate on establishing himself as a footballer first. He needs to improve his decision making and hopefully the kicking will following.
  8. I don't remember him moving and kicking so similarly to Matty Bate. He seems to have more nous though.
  9. That might change now. My take is that Satyr no longer works for the club. He might feel a little less inclined to stick up for all and sundry.
  10. Ah yes. Isn't "Beamer" great? He should come back. Fantastic suggestion. We need more dimwitted meatheads.
  11. Yeah. Greene's stats in his first year are outstanding. Still solid for his second season, but not as consistent.
  12. I like it. Get Treloar and a first round pick. We can then trade that pick back to them and pick up Greene.
  13. Treloar has more polish and pace, but both get a lot of the ball.
  14. We won't be addressing the small forward issue with pick 9. My guess is we'll simply keep drafting mids.
  15. Treloar is the only other kid I'd swap for #9 pick. Given they got pick #20 and #2 for Tyson, surely they wouldn't go at this. Then again, if someone's homesick and demanding to be traded, GWS may not have another option.
  16. Agree with the first bit, mate. I'm hopeful that with Roos and a more definable game plan, he'll be more composed with ball in hand. I'd disagree on spraying kicks in just the past season. IMO he's never been a good kick and heavily overrated on Demonland. He is a good reader of the play though.
  17. He's going nowhere with that kicking though.
  18. You do realise I'm talking about a player of Sewell's ilk right? I'm not talking about the 29 year old Sewell. I'm talking solid team contributor for over 190 games like Brad Sewell.
  19. Ah yes. The minority group of Christians. That explains why politicians and society don't pander to religion. Oh wait... Meanwhile, any news on the Josh Kennedy rumour front?
  20. Exactly. The days of the small forward who simply sits at the feet of a bullocking FF are over. It's about mids that can rest forward and later rotate through the midfield. We obviously need a speedster, but they must be able to play through the middle as well. This is why the likes of Cyril and Motlop are so dangerous. It will be interesting to see if we try to draft a small, pacey bloke this off season. We may save it until next year and just focus on mids this time around.
  21. Wasn't Cyril also a little overweight when drafted? I don't think you can rule out a player based on this. Given we'd take him with a later pick, it's speculative anyway. If Roos and his team see something in him, I hope they pull the trigger and worry little about his current weight.
  22. Perhaps it's just me, but I love Sewell. If we could get a Sewell at pick 9 I'd be all over it.
  23. Did you watch him during the Championships on TV, Ben? That's the only time I've seen him. He looked fantastic and moved liked Pendlebury, but people still weren't convinced. I'll trust whoever we go with, but he was the one guy that really stood out.
