  1. I am too, unless the club has a few tricks up its sleeve for the trade/FA period.
  2. Haha, yeah, I'd be very happy with Vince and Salem off half back, with Dunn in there as well. Getting Bennell and Prestia would allow us to release Bernie to play off half back though, which would be dangerous for opposition teams. I'd give Bernie plenty of time in the middle as well though. I'll trust them here as well, mate. I have a feeling our FD'll work some magic this off season (and they need to).
  3. Speaking of leadership, he and Jonesy were the two that went over to Cross and made sure he was alright as he was being placed on the stretcher against GWS. Leader written all over him.
  4. If the club go for him, they obviously think they do and that they can handle him. I'll back them on this.
  5. Dion will come home eventually. If he loves the club, one player won't get in his way. My ideal off season is getting Prestia and Bennell. Of course, I'd love to get someone with elite kicking for half back, but these two blokes will immediately lift us to between 10th and 8th. THE BEST 22: Jetta Frost Dunn Vince McDonald Salem Watts Prestia Bennell Kent Pedersen Brayshaw Petracca Hogan Garlett Gawn Jones Viney Tyson, Vanders, Stretch, ANB/Harmes/Trengove/Lumumba At full strength, with some confidence, that team could beat anyone. That's a pretty deep midfield too - Vince, Salem, Prestia, Bennell, Brayshaw, Petracca, Garlett, Jones, Viney, Tyson and Vanders.
  6. Before my time, but according to the mug I'm currently drinking from, Gary Hardeman was CHB in our Team of the Century. Quite an accolade.
  7. I won a bet with my Carlton mate over this. Finally winning things that are football-related.
  8. He is the Essendon supporter whipping boy and for good reason. A turn over merchant in the Jack Grimes mould. Need I say more?
  9. I can imagine Garland playing with aggression. I can imagine Grimes trying really hard, perhaps improving his decision making and still kicking it out on the full and missing targets under no pressure. I can imagine Watts with a bit more aggression, but ultimately never enough to play in a Roos side. I can imagine Dunn playing with real boldness. I can imagine Trengove coming back and being a solid citizen to replace Crossy and become a really important leader at the club again. Will much of that happen? I don't think so. I'd move all of them on except Dunn and Trengove to be honest. I'd happily trade Garland and package Watts for a good player. I'd look for a trade for Grimes and if we can't find any suitors, I'd make him captain of Casey.
  10. Pretty anecdotal, but all the guys I know that earn even over $150k (I'm 28, as are they) dabble in recreational drugs. Imagine what they'd do with $350k a year. We're talking the 18-30 demographic. It's rampant. Just because people don't come into emergency, doesn't mean it isn't rampant.
  11. Not sure this is a great case mounted either. So you can't put a player down if you've never played the game at the top level? Jeez, I hate this argument. That's closer to acting the dunce in my book.
  12. I reckon it's the other way around. There was a moment in the GWS game where he sprinted across to the wing and I couldn't believe my eyes. He'd worked up pace in momentum, but in my book he has really poor acceleration, but pretty good agility. I'm just not sure he's really good at anything to make it though. EDIT. Yeah, exactly. JKH can build his pace. He might not find a home unless he can do something incredibly well, at the moment he looks like a jack-of-all-skills, master of you know what...
  13. That fifteen point win is bigger than it looks in the scheme of things too, as they only kicked 4 goals in total. Questioning Roos is fine. To say we haven't improved is ridiculous.
  14. I would have thought repeat sprints would come under aerobic capacity and fitness...
  15. His manager did, but Prestia didn't. Until Prestia confirms it himself, it's still on.
  16. I used to enjoy Sandy's commentary about 15 years ago. He's so far past it now. It says a lot footy commentators and FOX FOOTY that they actually went back to him. He didnt have a job for years. Should have stayed that way.
  17. C grader whose best football is played as a stand alone. No, thanks.
  18. I wonder if they'd put McKenzie up for trade and would we trade Howe for McKenzie? I'd want slightly more maybe.
  19. You obviously didn't watch him closely this season. He's very hit and miss.
  20. Let's be honest here. He's an idiot with a peanut for a brain.
