  1. Interesting... he'd be asking for an arm and a leg wouldn't he, salary wise? Nice left-field one though.
  2. You're not reading my posts mate. I certainly didn't say it and I don't believe I read that Drags had said it either. I think what we're both saying is that Freo are such a basket case (Exhibit A the alleged Kelly trade attempt and Exhibit B the backflip on the alleged agreement between Jesse's management, the MFC and FFC of pick 6's involvement in the Jesse trade) that they might be naive enough to think those sort of shenanigans would affect their pro opponents in trade negotiations.
  3. Oi vey. I'm not saying it will affect our team. I'm saying Fremantle are amateurish and dumb enough to think it could.
  4. We're dealing with a bunch of amateurs here. Who knows?
  5. I repeat. I do not believe it has anything to do with MFC fans. We have absolutely no control over this decision. If the club are going to do it, they're well enough run not to bow to fan pressure. As for Fremantle, given their behaviour across week 1 of the trade period, I'd absolutely believe they would 'do that to a vulnerable guy'.
  6. I don't agree with the supporters bit but it is certainly a possible stage by Freo.
  7. I trust the FD, but concur with the sentiment here. I keep hearing from people that we're a destination club. May and KK are clearly up for it. Have we got a few others up our sleeve and if so, how do we plan to acquire them?
  8. Yep. Agreed. We might agree on some things @EnterTheDragon, but not on this one. Jesse won't be a Melbourne player come Wednesday evening (no sources, just opinion).
  9. I reckon Frost stays as depth KPB. But I still view this as a horses for courses decision. The size of the opposition's forwardline and its agility would effect who we go with out of Omac and Frost. Agile forwardlines are not Omac's go, but smart agile forwards often catch Frost out, so there's certainly a nuance to selection.
  10. Well see for mine, May brings the two strongest attributes of Frost (his closing speed) and Oscar (his solid kicking) and combines them into the one player. We can then afford Frost or Omac to play that other marking second tall as you call them - I'd just call them the old fashioned second KPB.
  11. Yep, I was at that game too and it was obvious early in the 4th after Hawkins kicked his second for the term that Frost should have been moved on to him. Instead, we waited for a third before making the switch and after that Hawkins didn't really get a look in, but the damage was done. That says a bit about Omac though. I completely agree with the view RE the lack of midfield pressure leading to easy goals against us. Of course. That's modern footy. My issue with our defence is that Jetta and Hibberd are strong one on one defenders. Lever is a terrific interceptor and Salem is a beautiful kick. The obvious weak area is lock down KPD role. At this stage in our development as a group, May is a better bet than Frost or Oscar.
  12. Pretty similar mate. The key to their play is Rance though and continuity together. Lever not playing this year hurt Omac. No doubt about it. Oscar was looking impressive early in the year, but my reading on our ideal set up (perhaps born out of necessity with Lever's injury and the evolving nature of the game with the return of the power forwards at WC) is that we want to play two KPBs (May and one of Frost or Omac), one main interceptor (Lever), a small lock down defender (Jetta) and two rebounding kicking defenders (out of Hibberd, Salem, Lewis and at this point Smith).
  13. I agree, but our window has opened a year or two earlier than I expected and Omac isn't there yet. A decision needs to be made on who we bring in to play full back.
  14. Omac and Frost should be battling it out for the second KPB in the 22. We don't have time to wait for Oscar to develop into a powerful player. I've been a supporter of his in the past, but his pace and ability on the lead is a concern. If he gets the second best forward, he's a much better chance of neutralizing them.
  15. Well, hang on. When Hawkins got ahold of Omac, was it our midfield or Hawkins that day? Or are you picking and choosing? And what happened on QBD? Did we try to out position or out body Cox or did we simply let him jump at everything?
  16. Sort of. For the first five minutes or so.
  17. But hang on mate. Dangerfield is coming isn't he?
  18. I'd have KK and Fritsch on wings next year, so Hunty is behind a few. He might compete for Lewis' spot if we land May, whose kicking will compliment Salem's and allow us to phase Lewis out (whose lack of pace often out positions us). With his vertical leap and pace, Hunt may well be better suited to half forward, but then his kicking will need to improve. I'm with PSD on this one. If you get a decent offer, you pull the trigger.
  19. I'd rather Frost defending than Tom and that's saying something.
  20. Paradoxically, he's really good in contested situations in the forward half.
  21. Terrible idea. He's a turn over merchant in the back half and ordinary one on one.
  22. I don't rate AVB but he signed a three year deal. Jesse won't sign beyond 2019.
  23. I'm not sure what you mean here, mate. We helped him during these issues and as far as I can determine, we would have continued to, but he wanted to go to WA. How is me saying Jesse staying will make a mockery of our culture, related to the hardship Jesse has experienced?
