  1. If you make the comparison with us, May is the lock down FB, Lever the intercept marker, Hibberd is the run and gun. We're just missing the designated kicker and general. Perhaps Jones can play that role in 2020? Great comments though, mate. Thanks for sharing. Actually a very nice guy is Damien. Fascinating hearing how Hardwick and Buckley turned their careers around after internal reviews. Let's hope Goody can take heed of a similar review. I'd also proffer Sav Rocca as an alternative.
  2. And since I'm on a roll tonight, maybe Jeremy Cameron is gettable on a 6-7 year contract?
  3. The Lido's pretty nice.
  4. Some people value contracts too. What a funny inclination.
  5. Now for Taranto.
  6. Well, exactly. Because we're wedded to him, we'll pay what we need to pay. And the little dill will make sure of it.
  7. Yes, I know, we may not need another bull, but if Ben King is a no go, I'd put pick 3 down on the table for Tim Taranto and that way GWS get their man, but we get a guy who is trending upwards is an incredible way. Oliver, Taranto, Harmes. That's a tough, ball-winning trio. The guy is 19 and had a super consistent year at GWS. Thoughts...
  8. We're also signing Tomlinson and Schwab is taking over from Pert.
  9. I haven't noticed anyone else doing it, but goodo.
  10. Fair enough. Just seems pretty useless to me to use stats as a measure of comparing both positions when neither necessarily need to be highly statistical. Unless you're counting repeated springs, blocking up holes in defence from the wing or shutting down your man. The KPIs for a defensive wing position would only be known internally and given he's played 3 straight seasons at an outfit like GWS, I'd say he's been doing a good job of it. And for the record, I'm fine with Frost as back up depth. He's good depth actually, but the overrating going on in these parts of his abilities is hilarious. He's an exciting athlete that struggles when the ball is in his hands on a football field.
  11. Wow. If we land Elliott and Demonland still complains... can't do anything right. Melbourne have also landed Fyfe, Dangerfield, Franklin and Zorko. Oh! You're [censored] Melbourne! How old are they? 54? Play it safe and posters [censored] on the club, go after who we want (Lever, May and Elliott) and posters [censored] on the club.
  12. The less I say on this the better, but thank you for your commitment to our club, Mister Jones.
  13. Both players are completely different. This post shows a complete lack of understanding on either the players or the modern game. Tomlinson plays a defensive position on a wing and pinch hits in the ruck, while Frosty has proven he can only be hidden in one area of the ground (the back half) and plays exclusively as key defender. Comparing their stats is useless. In what realm are these players remotely similar? Unless Jamie Elliott is similar to Max Gawn...
  14. Nah, didn't get the PM mate.
  15. Different year's weren't they?
  16. Just as I was with Prestia, until it's no longer possible to get King, I'll keep believing. ?
  17. At the risk of sounding like a broken record... trade pick 3 for Ben King.
  18. I'd change the Senior Coach personally. Alan Richardson is a good start too. Yze would be handy; Adrian Hickmont; Justin Longmuir; Leigh Tudor. These sort of guys. Doesn't it strike you as odd that Williams hasn't managed to get another job since 2016? In the meantime, the side he coached at has won two premierships without him.
  19. Bottom 4 next year, you reckon, mate? Often happens when you lose that much experience. Depends who they replace them with I suppose.
  20. I hope we're not scarred by the retirement of James McDonald. Jones should have gone at the end of last year. The fact he's managed to get another year is quite frankly ridiculous. As you say, what the hell is his role in 2020? He's not a good enough kicker or decision maker to play half back, but this is his only position going forward.
  21. One of my mates' cousins is a Hawthorn player. He's relatively experienced and his contract is not quite at that $340k before match payments. I think we vastly inflate what we think players are paid because we have no [censored] idea.
  22. It's the Hawks system that is what's so good. Their development is overrated. Sure, they developed Hodge, Franklin, Roughead, Mitchell and Lewis, but IMO that's more about system. And all the FAs and trades they've brought in for quite some time have been role players who have fitted into a system. They don't have enough guns now, so their system doesn't stand up like it once did.
  23. Yeah, but hang on. We've been crying out for pace for a while now. It's just as likely next year another team will win it with a different mix. I'm all for pace, but West Coast won it without an abundance of it. As did the Bulldogs. Getting the structures right from a coaching level is far more important. Pace is probably an important part of that mix, but the danger of looking at the Richmond mix is that you draft too many smalls and you go the other way. Balance is needed and the game style needs to be clear, and this is, I'd suggest, what should dictate recruiting.
  24. This is the thing. If we want fast outside pace with good foot skills, we have to trade someone. Those same people lamenting Tomlinson will be up in arms if we traded Brayshaw or Viney. But that's who we should be trading. Build your midfield around Oliver, Harmes and Petracca. They're all relatively different players. We need to add a kicker to that group. Is it Salem? Maybe, if he can hold down a midfield spot. Frost is depth. He should be on much less than $500k, though I don't particularly find debating player salary's with our lack of information that helpful.
