  1. At the risk of being tarred and feathered, may I say that the thing that impresses me about this deal, is the way your club and mine went about it. It appears to me that both clubs sensibly set out to achieve a win/win scenario. We get Brock and you guys get the best pick we had to offer. No one tried to shaft the other party, which has become a rarity these days. Other clubs could take note !! Brock now becomes a third generation Carlton footballer. Uncle Rick most know about, but Brock's Grandpa was a Carlton legend in the 40's, and served the Blues off the field many years. I my view we've got a gun player in this deal and I hope pick 11 brings to your club exactly the same thing. Good luck next year.
  2. :D 30 years ? Ok if you like, but I don't think the other 15 clubs have been squeeky clean either. But doesn't alter the fact the Russell is a cretin !
  3. Quite right. As a Carlton supporter I've found his lack of objectivity in relation to my club somewhat sickening. As we lurched from one crisis to another, I heard Russell on 3AW say ''Don't you just love it ! '' Gerard Healy to his credit, said ''No actually I don't.'' It would appear he has now dropped off us and zeroed in on your club. The bloke is a five star cretin. He copped his right whack when he aligned himself with Port Adelaide against Geelong in the '07 GF. The best way to shut the buffoon up is to win this week !! To quote the great E.J. Whitten '' Stick it right up 'em'', and him too
  4. My first post on Demonland, and although I'm a Carlton man (please no lynching party) I was saddened to read that Sam Allica had passed away. As a kid I watched the great Melbourne sides under Norm Smith. And they were awesome, and buzzing in and out of the action was Smithy's runner Sam Allica. Tony Charlton and Mike Williamson the TV commentators of the day, never referred to him as the Melbourne runner when he conveyed one of his many messages for the day, they always referred to him by name. Hence it seemed to stick in my impressionable bonce. With Peter McLean (64 Demon premiership player,68 Blues premiership player) also passing away recently it probably doesn't hurt to reflect on all the lesser knowns who contributed to our great game.
