  1. It was long discussed that Roos had told Frawley he was better off elsewhere after the club spoke to the AFL about the likely compensation. He wouldn't have had to look hard to see that Col was a bust, a decade and not one appearance better than the top 5 of the Bluey. Roos is a pretty astute judge of footballing flesh. I suspect the Clarke situation was more complicated but as soon as it was worked out we couldn't keep him the club did a pretty good deal considering he could have walked for nothing. And BTW history is written by the winners. We won out of all those three deals.
  2. err excuse me? Do you know something we don't? As far as has been published this is all about TB4. There is nothing else.
  3. I guess the logic of training is that if you are an athletics runner they can't ban you from running, But they could ban you from training camps, official training get togethers (AIS) etc. So banning a team from training doesn't equate. But I understand Ahmed Saad wasn't allowed to train. Nor was Wade Lees.
  4. ha ha you can't open Pandora's box a little bit ! It's either open or closed!! And you have opened it !
  5. Suggest you read the contracts thread....I'll be happy to bet you they won't all be gone.
  6. So you would suggest two very poor years in a row would justify keeping him? Didn't we do that with Davey?
  7. DOnt forget Directors being held liable. As would happen in a private company where a worker was put in an unsafe situation, killed or injured.. Essendon are cooked.
  8. WADA won't allow that to happen. This is a huge case for them. It may even be the first team sport the amended code to be done. If so that would make it even a bigger reason for them to go hard. What gives me a level of comfort is that it isn't ultimately in the AFLs hands. They can't sweep it under the carpet with a sweetheart deal.
  9. Sue You seem pretty smart. Try reading post 1992. It can;t work any other way.
  10. Sue Reverse the onus and imagine whether an effective doping code could work that way. And for the argument's sake replace EFC with the East german athletics team circa 1972. 1. Get a dodgy doctor 2. order dodgy drugs 3. create a high performance supplements program 4. Have the players sign waivers 5. When discovered say that 'we did everything by the book'. Our highly respected doctor told us that it was all above board. 6. track team wins lots of gold medals, dodgy doctor is rewarded handsomely with a villa in an exotic location and lots of cash, proud country parades its medals. 7. Doctor banned for life but country keeps all its gold medals as do the athletes You simply cannot have a drugs policy that works that way. That s why it has been repeated so many times here. PLAYERS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT GOES IN THEIR BODY. It is the only way it can work if you want to have an effective drugs policy. Essendon are cooked,
  11. Is Neeldy driving that??
  12. The why would you add to it?? Seems a little hypocritical.
  13. Ricky Jackson says no... So does Troy Simmonds. Mongrel player.
  14. Its the drug of choice as it out of your system in 24 hrs apparently. The testers should be permanently stationed at Carlton BTW....
  15. Keep perpetuating the myth and give those players the right to throttle back their own expectations. BTW Dom Tyson says hi....
  16. It is alleged Hunt and the co-accused arranged for cocaine for personal use or to be passed on to friends or colleagues between June and December 2014. Hunt was playing in the AFL for the Gold Coast Suns and training with the Reds during that time. Clearly our drug testing regime is still pretty loose.....
  17. And you believe it is not happening here?? That would be a little naive, sorry WJ
  18. Chicken / Egg
  19. On the Sauce tonight Biff?
  20. We would still get injuries out if this... We are cursed!!!!!
  21. And so it turns out that Dangerfield's father is on Adelaide's payroll....... And from the same article another interesting tidbit about you know who...Greater Western Sydney were forced to put roof tiler Phil Scully’s $680,000 six-year contract as a recruiter in the salary cap after he was offered a deal 12 months before his son, Tom, signed on. I had never realised it was 12months before that lying cheating scumbag left us.... http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/adelaide-confirm-patrick-dangerfields-father-works-in-clubs-recruiting-team/story-fnia3xzy-1227224566881?sv=cca6ca16634841fc19075aedbc1627c4
  22. The $820 number already includes an amount for the value of Toll......its not additional... Just saying.......
  23. Gutted for the lad. In a perverse way I think it will be great for Jack Trengove to have a focus on someone else. He will take CP under his wing and help him through it. Which will be great for JT as well. If it works out it will create a very strong team bond. And we might look back on this as the cementing of a real team bond that is the beginning of a team that grows together.....maybe a bit far fetched but already I sense this pre-season here is more cameraderie than we have had in a number of years......
  24. Well thats what Roosey was trying to do..... Didn't quite turn out eh?
  25. I hope they get stuffed for salary cap breaches as well!
