  1. Sam Weideman just slotted his second for the day. If you add the goal assist to help Balic with the team's first and he's having a handy start. QT: Casey Demons 5.2.32 to Coburg Lions 2.0.12 Goals Weideman 2 Balic Hannan Stretch Disposals Maynard 9 Weideman 7 Hannan Hunt 6
  2. Goal to Coburg, their second. Casey leads 25 - 12.
  3. Casey Demons 4.1.25 to Coburg Lions 1.0.6
  4. That goal was kicked by Sam Weideman from about 50 metres out. They’re lining up for a game v Hawthorn next week.
  5. And now it’s four - absolutely raining goals.
  6. Mitch Hannan gets the team’s third.
  7. And another goal to Billy Stretch. 12 - 6.
  8. Scores level after Harley Balic goals from a pass from the Weed.
  9. Coburg first to hit the scoreboard with a goal. Who said this was going to be easy?

  11. The Casey Demons practice match against Frankston has been moved to Casey Fields on Good Friday 30 March, 2018 at noon. The club has reappointed defender Jack Hutchins as captain of the Casey Demons heading a leadership group of James Munro, Mitch Gent, Angus Scott, Mitch White and Corey Wagner. The team sheet:-
  12. PETER JACKSON VFL 2018 - PRACTICE MATCH CASEY DEMONS v BOX HILL HAWKS Casey Fields Saturday 17th March, 2018 at 12.00pm I’m a long way from the City of Casey and it’s hard to find out any news from home but it looks as though there are going to be a few Demons taking the field in today’s VFL practice match at Casey Fields (clubs need to get special permission to enable those who have had interrupted pre seasons to play this weekend). Star Dees to make R1 bid in VFL hit-out “A HOST of Melbourne players will be looking to confirm their selection in round one when they run out for VFL affiliate Casey Demons in a practice match against Box Hill at Casey Fields on Saturday. The Demons have decided to take the opportunity to get valuable game time into Jeff Garlett, Neville Jetta, Dom Tyson, James Harmes and Dean Kent after interrupted pre-season programs due to injury.” Others who have been in rehab and who will play are Sam Weideman (ankle surgery) and Joel Smith (broken leg). However, Jack Viney who was at one stage expected to play in this game, has been ruled out. I look forward to reports from those who can make it down to Casey Fields.
  13. Yes, it would be good to be up against the strongest possible opponent as the start of the season nears but the Dolphins are close rivals and need the football community’s support as they regroup after a year out of competition.
  14. Two more recruits for the Casey Demons are Nilma-Darnum (Ellinbank & District Football League) midfielder/forward Ben Campbell and 203cm ruckman Julian Patterson from Gippsland Power.
  15. Noble Park full-back Ryan Morrison, Mitch White (MFC), Jay Lockhart (North Launceston) and the returning James Freeman all signed with Casey Demons last night. Tweet from Paul Amy.
  16. Two new names at the Casey Demons - • Ali Zijai (18, 172cm, 67kg) from the Dandenong Stingrays via Noble Park/Hallam SC (and brother of Yilber who has crossed to Frankston), and • Jack Hudson (18, 180cm, 80kg) from Gippsland Power via Hillend. Both players are forwards.
  17. The list is of confirmed changes. No doubt, there will be others once contracts/clearances are sorted out. CASEY DEMONS In: Riley D’Arcy (Dandenong Stingrays) Colin Garland (Melbourne) Jay Lockhart (North Launceston) Kyle Stainthorpe (Eastern Ranges) Mitch White (Melbourne) Out: Kieren Byers Will Collis Mitch Cox Aloysio Ferreira (Frankston) Bayley Fritsch (Melbourne) Jake Gains Nathan Gardiner (Frankston) Ben Giobbi Brenton Hillard (Frankston) Jake Lovett (Frankston) Todd Vander Haar Yilber Zijai (Frankston)

  19. Paul Amy also reporting that Riley D’Arcy from Dandenong Stingrays and Kyle Stainthorpe from Eastern Rangers are on board at Casey with more TAC Cuppers to come.
  20. VFL journo Paul Amy is reporting that the Casey Demons have recruited North Launceston defender Jay Lockhart who won the medal as Tassie’s best player in the state match against the NEAFL last year.
  21. Paul Amy reporting that Noble Park fullback Ryan Morrison is training with the Casey Demons after two outstanding years in Eastern ranks.
  22. The word from out at Casey is that recently retired MFC 141 gamer Colin Garland who will have coaching roles with the club’s AFLW and VFLW teams in 2018 could also turn out during the season with the Casey Demons. Delisted rookie Mitch White is also said to be a likely recruit. With the axing of the Development League, the Casey Demons’ VFL list will be reduced significantly. One player off to the Frankston Dolphins for their return season to the VFL is Jake Lovett.
  23. Congratulations to one of the Casey Demon young guns Mykelti Lefau who has been chosen to represent his home country of New Zealand against the AFL Academy Australian Under 17s at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Monday April 24. Playing for St Kilda City Under 19s in the Southern Football League late last year Lefau had a match to remember, drilling 25 of his team’s 28 goals in a big victory over Carrum Patterson Lakes. He has already impressed with Casey and we wish him well in his first game for the Kiwis.
  24. Michael Hibberd has come out and announced that he wants to leave the Bombers, The time has come for a thread all of his own. The word is that a trade will take place and involve Melbourne's second round draft pick.
  25. Showed a bit with Casey early but has been out injured lately - due to return in a week or two.
