  1. Details Casey Demons v Box Hill Hawks on Sunday 24 March at 12 noon Casey Fields Next week Casey Demons v Geelong VFL on Saturday 30 March at 11:00 AM Avalon Airport Oval
  2. The VFL site’s listing of ins and outs (not necessarily fully comprehensive):- CASEY DEMONS In: Tom McCaffrey (Wodonga Raiders), Luke Tynan (Port Melbourne), Liam Buxton-Wales (Vermont), Matthew Gahan (Dandenong Stingrays), Nick Lowden (Gippsland Power), Jai Taylor (Dandenong Stingrays), Anthony Vella (Port Melbourne), Darcy Fritsch (Coldstream), Heath Briggs (Dandenong Stingrays) Out: Liam Hiscock (Frankston), Goy Lok (Frankston), Angus Scott (East Perth), Corey Wagner (Melbourne), Ali Zijai (Frankston), Riley D’Arcy (Frankston)
  3. While the focus at Casey Fields today will be on the Demons’ training session this morning, the news from the Casey Demons for one prospective player - Darcy Fritsch (brother of Bayley) is very promising. Paul Amy quotes coach Jade Rawlings as follows - “He’s been one of the standouts throughout the summer. I don’t think he’s missed a session, his attitude is first-class and he’s really improving.''
  4. Paul Amy reporting that Coldstream's Darcy Fritsch (younger brother of Bayley) is training with the Casey Demons.
  5. According to Paul Amy, former Casey Scorpion Luke Tynan (brother of Josh who played two games for Melbourne in 2012) has left Port Melbourne and might find his way back to Casey.
  6. Local journalist Paul Amy reporting that the Casey Demons have made their first signing for 2019 - Wodonga Raiders midfielder Tom McCaffrey, originally from Manly Warringah Giants. He has played for Sydney Uni in the NEAFL and has also topped up for the Sydney Swans reserves.
  7. The one delisting that surprised me was Hugh Goddard at St Kilda. He’s a key defender and was outstanding for Sandringham against Casey on 11 August in VFL Round 19 when he was clearly the Zebras’ best in a game where they challenged the Demons until well into the final quarter. That was the day that Bernie Vince injured his shoulder early on and Dean Kent was the hero with 3 goals 3 behinds. Thinking back, this must have been the day that Kent impressed the St Kilda people as his was a dynamic performance and it also got him back into the MFC team. Goddard’s performance in a losing team was outstanding but two things stand against him being picked as a delisted free agent - he has had a history of injuries and plays key defence where the club will be well served with Jake Lever’s return and the possible recruitment of Steven May.
  8. Yeah, nah. The VFL Cats play the Hawks on Sunday in a semi final. The winner gets to play Williamstown. Casey will play the winner of Richmond v Essendon.
  9. Stunned by that. He played a fantastic game a few weeks back for Sandringham. I thought he was going to get a promotion to the Saints seniors, not the flick. Could it be another case of proposed rookie listing?
  10. There have definitely been some subtle changes in Sam’s role. He’s stronger, is doing more ruck work around the ground and is becoming a well rounded player, rather than type cast as a KPF. He needs a breakout game at AFL level and if that happens, we won’t see much more of him at Casey.
  11. Looks like Harmesy’s on board.
  12. Congratulations to one of the Casey Demon young guns Mykelti Lefau who has been chosen to represent his home country of New Zealand against the AFL Academy Australian Under 17s at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Monday April 24. Playing for St Kilda City Under 19s in the Southern Football League late last year Lefau had a match to remember, drilling 25 of his team’s 28 goals in a big victory over Carrum Patterson Lakes. He has already impressed with Casey and we wish him well in his first game for the Kiwis.
  13. Michael Hibberd has come out and announced that he wants to leave the Bombers, The time has come for a thread all of his own. The word is that a trade will take place and involve Melbourne's second round draft pick.
  14. Showed a bit with Casey early but has been out injured lately - due to return in a week or two.
  15. Here is an item which I thought might be of appeel to readers of this thread and which I plucked out of my local newspaper - Bananas are yummy, Mummy
