Anyone for cricket?
I think mcgain needs more then 1 innings. A good wrist spinner is worth a lot more in england then on flat tracks in S.A.. Warne went for 0/100+ in his first test (not for 9 an over though). If Hauritz gets a game ahead of a straight pace attack or mcgain I may boycot the tour. I'm sure I have the selectors shacking in their boots!

I think your being a touch harsh, haddin is a international class keeper who can bat. My biggest concern is still no specialist spinner in the side. Mcgain has to play the dead rubber as a lead up to the ashes. How good has it been watching johnson and siddle intimidate one of the "best" batting line ups on a "good" track. SAT night was one of the best sessions of fast bowling i have watched!

To suggest changes to india tours + 20/20 tournaments at this stage is over reacting a little IMO. I understand the dangers within india ATM, but it is not pakistan either. Lets face it, there is risk even touring in england this year so should we call off the ashes? We have seen the last international in Pakistan for a long time but I think india there is a different set of issues, some similar but still different. It will force a re-think as to travel arrangements/security but ultimately the show will and should go on.

Great win, Missed this but a friend was telling me that siddle bowled 4 bouncers to stain in the 1st innings, followed by a "Get up you week ______" Great stuff for me, its been a while since we have had a fast bowler like this! Johnson for me is close to becoming one of the MVP in the world. Lets hope hussey makes runs in the 2nd test and we are well on the way. Great win but i still can't believe we went into the test without a specialist spinner. Maybe I'm just old fashioned.

1 run - Just as well or I might have lost all faith! What are we doing with players who are struggling at state level getting a game, yet a bloke who has dominated all year is left as 12th man? Would have something to do with the Aust. A side (AKA blues) playing victoria in a shield game? Something smells funny to me.....

The issue is who goes to make room. It would have to be one of the 2 husseys in the middle order and ATM they both would be ahead of Mcdonald. Maybe DH could be the unluckey one. The issue is at the top of the order. Warner if left to the sharks could well become a one or two hit wonder. I think he needs to go back to state level and refine his craft a little further. I'm not convinced with marsh opening either. Maybe premote MH to open and bring in Ronnie that would work. I have to say yesterday I witnessed one of the best bowling performances I have seen in a while (From NZ). The pressure they put us under was incredable, resulting in 2 unfortunate run outs.

ditto - Smiths act was one of the most courageous things I have seen in a while. How good was it to see the sydney crowd give him a standing ovation coming out to bat. Had an interesting discussion with my neighbour after hayden put down that catch. His statement was that hes eyes have to be on their way out. Interesting observation to make..... maybe its not bad form, he just isn't seeing the ball as well as he should. I wonder how ofter cricket australia test these things?
