  1. Hodgey you Legend! Lets not go over the baggy green debate again!
  2. Discraceful. Playing old never was beens in the 20/20 insted of proven 20/20 specialists. serves the aust team right! BL = terrible and will probably cost a good young bowler their spot in the ashes! Time to retire. Don't get me started about hodge!
  3. I think mcgain needs more then 1 innings. A good wrist spinner is worth a lot more in england then on flat tracks in S.A.. Warne went for 0/100+ in his first test (not for 9 an over though). If Hauritz gets a game ahead of a straight pace attack or mcgain I may boycot the tour. I'm sure I have the selectors shacking in their boots!
  4. Nth in doubt with a gastric bug, Mcgain has to play. If the selectors get this wrong we are going into the ashes with no spinner with any recent test practice which IMO is madness
  5. Too late HT, the #1 ticket went long ago! The only thing that worries me is the old "Bringing the game into disrepute". His nickname is psyco for a reason
  6. Where does that put england in the pecking order, below NZ+WI? Rough World standings....... - any thoughts? Aust SA IND NZ WI ENG PAK? SRI? ZIM
  7. I think your being a touch harsh, haddin is a international class keeper who can bat. My biggest concern is still no specialist spinner in the side. Mcgain has to play the dead rubber as a lead up to the ashes. How good has it been watching johnson and siddle intimidate one of the "best" batting line ups on a "good" track. SAT night was one of the best sessions of fast bowling i have watched!
  8. To suggest changes to india tours + 20/20 tournaments at this stage is over reacting a little IMO. I understand the dangers within india ATM, but it is not pakistan either. Lets face it, there is risk even touring in england this year so should we call off the ashes? We have seen the last international in Pakistan for a long time but I think india there is a different set of issues, some similar but still different. It will force a re-think as to travel arrangements/security but ultimately the show will and should go on.
  9. Hows your left arm looking these days rhino, you might get a call soon! Maybe the aussies should be waring red and blue so the injuries make sense.
  10. Great win, Missed this but a friend was telling me that siddle bowled 4 bouncers to stain in the 1st innings, followed by a "Get up you week ______" Great stuff for me, its been a while since we have had a fast bowler like this! Johnson for me is close to becoming one of the MVP in the world. Lets hope hussey makes runs in the 2nd test and we are well on the way. Great win but i still can't believe we went into the test without a specialist spinner. Maybe I'm just old fashioned.
  11. Are you guys suggesting you would not like to see NSW stripped of the 20/20 flag? I agree its the shield that matters, but who wouldn't like to see NSW on the recieving end. Launch an appeal against their win!
  12. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...91-2882,00.html Give us the points for the 20/20 final! Bird was the difference in that game IMO!
  13. Mcgain has to fire if we are any chance. Our lack of depth in the spin department cost us the series. Although not having a baggy blue in the bag might cost him a spot!
  14. I'll make the Call, We Are Home! (7/160)
  15. 1 run - Just as well or I might have lost all faith! What are we doing with players who are struggling at state level getting a game, yet a bloke who has dominated all year is left as 12th man? Would have something to do with the Aust. A side (AKA blues) playing victoria in a shield game? Something smells funny to me.....
  16. I'm glad they have quality batsmen the likes of flintoff down the order to save humiliation and push the total up to a massive 51!
  17. Ours is not much better, what ever happened to bills canary yellow?
  18. I think its closer to the XXXX factor these days!
  19. Or is it the spirit when we are floggin everybody but when it gets hard we will do anything to try and get a win? Who does the buck stop with here: Captain? Coach? Selectors? Players? I suspect one or both of the 1st 2.
  20. interesting to see in the HUN today that katich and hodge should be rushed back into the Australian team.
  21. The issue is who goes to make room. It would have to be one of the 2 husseys in the middle order and ATM they both would be ahead of Mcdonald. Maybe DH could be the unluckey one. The issue is at the top of the order. Warner if left to the sharks could well become a one or two hit wonder. I think he needs to go back to state level and refine his craft a little further. I'm not convinced with marsh opening either. Maybe premote MH to open and bring in Ronnie that would work. I have to say yesterday I witnessed one of the best bowling performances I have seen in a while (From NZ). The pressure they put us under was incredable, resulting in 2 unfortunate run outs.
  22. What a series for duminy, but from our side it would be siddle for mine - big future, big heart, bit of mongrel in him as well. And while we are on vic fast bowlers did anyone watch the vic v nsw 20/20. How nannes can't get a 20/20 international game is beyond me.
  23. You missed also a team ripe with talent and class!
  24. Well said Rhino..... Your a lot more polite towards the indian side then I am after the last couple of series - so i'm glad you beat me to the punch this morning! Does anyone know when SA play in india next? That will be a series to watch closely.
  25. ditto - Smiths act was one of the most courageous things I have seen in a while. How good was it to see the sydney crowd give him a standing ovation coming out to bat. Had an interesting discussion with my neighbour after hayden put down that catch. His statement was that hes eyes have to be on their way out. Interesting observation to make..... maybe its not bad form, he just isn't seeing the ball as well as he should. I wonder how ofter cricket australia test these things?
