  1. Wasn't it PJ he said that about?
  2. I really hate that cliche too. I hate it immensely. However, if there's one player who really does "bleed red and blue" it's Brent Moloney.
  3. This thread was closed by accident so I've re-opened it (it happens from time to time as sadly it's far too easy to do with this forum system). Sorry about that, carry on.
  4. Exactly how I feel too, and I don't even know why really. Oh well, it's done now, and I think the way it was handled was a nice touch.
  5. He's a far quit in its purest form.
  6. There's a lot of things that Nathan Carroll is, and a character isn't one of them.
  7. Likewise. Are Hawthorn really that desperate?
  8. I always thought they were brothers, but it would seem that you're right. Brothers born 6 months apart would be... interesting
  9. I was thinking that too. If McDonald retires, the net effect would be losing half of his salary out of the cap, and that's it. He doesn't free up a space in the list, because there's nobody to replace him on the veteran's list this year. Losing him would just make it even more difficult to get up to the minimum salary cap, for almost no benefit (an extra rookie, essentially pick one-hundred-and-something in the draft, yay). He's essentially a nice freebie on the list for next year. No wonder the club were in such a rush to sign him up for another year.
  10. One thing you learn after being around footy forums for a long time is that there are a large number of people who claim to have 100% accurate information and it turns out they don't. You might very well be right; but you have to understand that we've all heard the "my information is 100% correct" line a million times before. Don't take it personally if people are skeptical, and save your energy by not getting defensive, as it just makes you look like a goose. If you're right, the proof will be in the results.
  11. Think this topic has well and truly run its race now.
  12. Would it be okay for me to say it then? I was thinking the same thing as KS. I'm not sure why anyone would be stressed over this.
  13. We were pretty average against North, but I don't mind. I feel sick at the thought of the lengths that would have been required to lose to Freo the next week if we'd beaten North.
  14. Every player that has been delisted?
  15. Not sure where he'll fit in to a good side to be honest. I can't find a position on the ground where he'll be better than most. That said, it was a good season first up. Absolutely love his aggression and the way he attacks the man and ball. The tackle on Sandilands was a cracker.
  16. That's exactly what I said earlier in the thread and got no responses that made any sense. It says in the article that he already rejected a 'good' deal from Carlton, but now he's cracked the sads with Brisbane and is now wanting to 'test the waters' at other clubs. In my mind he has already tested them. I don't get it. If I were a Brisbane supporter I'd be a tad crapped off with both club and player at how this has all gone down personally.
  17. It was only you and everyone else who'd ever seen him play, myself included. I saw him play at Sandy a few times in his earlier years and he looked like a complete lemon. He remained on the list for a long time before really showing anything that the mug supporter might recognise as signs of a good enough player. At the start of last year I thought it was a joke that he was still on the list Big thumbs up from me to the club for persevering.
  18. Massive storm in a teacup. "How this will affect his career"? It won't.
  19. I don't quite understand what he's playing at here. He rejected a 'good' offer from Carlton, and has now said he is not going back to Brisbane because he's upset at being hawked around. He had an opportunity for an out to a club that will be pushing for a flag, didn't take it, and is now quitting the club he's at, at 30, so he can 'test the market'. I don't get it, and he could very well leave himself high and dry.
  20. I don't know why people feel the need to piss on the kid on the way out. And it's not just Zomer, it's all the guys who have a crack but clearly aren't good enough. Show some respect please.
  21. Considering how many of those were rookies who hadn't played a game, the article is a bit sensationalistic IMO. I'm still very interested in MacDonald. Not interested in Hooper -- hot and cold and unable to keep focused; nor Harding who just isn't good enough.
  22. Where's his ceiling and what's his role? I think he's the second ruck with extra strings to his bow that we're been crying out for.
  23. I can't remember whether this bloke can play or not. Clean slate in 2010 as far as I'm concerned.
