    either image is problematic !!
  2. his greatest quality was indifference . that and thinking he he was a given. He was this side of nothing in reality. Its an opinion. We might all differ......
  3. I dont know its colour only that its not falling ( any more )
  4. ahhh ahhh a man after my own thinking how is it , or indeed we ought to ask WHY is it possible that clubs who dont particularly feature often at draft time still manage to eek out and snaffle decent players ? I reckon its because they have the criteria for selection right as opposed to our litany of fukk ups !! i think our biggest mistake is to go after the salvation messiah types when what we really need are footballers. I think the current FD understand this...tgft !!
  5. SPC..it mightnt be too hard trading picks....if you hold 2 and 3
  6. Not a lot of point bringing in too many kids if you dobt have a reasonably able and 'cultured' middle order of the list. This is where we lack at the Dees and I fully expect Roos to do what the Swannies did for a long time. Rely less on the draft but go about recruitment via other clubs. Roos is on record as not being a slave to drafts. Why does anyone think he'll suddenly change. Theres still the next draft and the next one etc to pick a few kids from. We need to get going like yesterday .
  7. I disagree rjay. It presumes there are no decent kids up to say pick 25. This is a flat draft by many accounts. Im in building and we would concern ourselves more with getting the house fixed up and right before worrying about extensions etc. If you want the likes of Hogan Salem Mac to stick around get them some good workmanlike team mates. Edit. I will agree that weve made some "wrong" picks and that hasnt helped. Just about every one was considered ELITE..I think
  8. Jack this to me is the error of many a thinking both now and the last 10 years. This myth of needing elite. We struggle to put a decent AFL std team on the park because we dont have enough good meat and potatoes let alone any fillet mignon..Kids wont impact a team tomorrow and thats been our folly. Roos will endeavour to ensure kids spend more time learning their craft not less. Any reliance on kids, no matter how elite , will be less. I hope Roos uses both high picks to bring in some good 'decent' players who WILL lift this club quickly. We will still get some fairly lively picks. History suggests theres as much chance anywhere up to 50...and even then some gems appear late. Lets worry less about the cream and more about whats beneath.
  9. Yeah...ive done the predictor a few times lately and keep ending up with 16th. Thats my gut feeling also
  10. hmmm picks 2 and 3 wonder what we can swap those for ?? lol

Welcome to the next era Tommy. Please continue your good work and ethic but please please work on that kicking ...please Good to see you have faith in the club
  12. if we , just for a moment , put names to the side and just go with intent then I can see many here also think its either a)desirable b) probable that picks will be traded. If we do get the bonus prize ( compo ) and if it is band 1 I still maintain theres a greater benefit this year to re-invent those picks as players able to impact immediately and accompanied by some still handy picks to garner some development youth. We are different from many teams. We arent looking to top up and continue along a well established path we're doing some emergency re-engineering on the fly ....the foundations need fixing and the roof is leaking and the floor's a bit wonky etc All things equal next year we'll still have a decent 1st and 2nd round pick. Right now we need rtr players thats my take
  13. but why....thats good

strangely....I've been there....lol.....wasnt all that warm that day from memory to tell the truth its a hop skip and a jump from a YHA I stayed at many many moons ago. I was broke...I made a deal with the manager to trade labour for lodgings ( and food ) I painted thebasement and stairs. A few others caught on to my deal. A certain Mary from Colorado ( funny what you remember ) did it to and decided to thank me . She took me out to dinner..A little cafe at the end of a lonG LONG pier in Halifax. I swear at one moment I was being set up and reminded me of a funny Get Smart episode.. Lapping water, deep fog, boats fog horns etc. quite surreal anyhow sat at table . No chairs matched not the cutlery. She ordered two house specials. Promptly two mugs of tea arrived. Followed by the biggest bowl of hand cut chips.I thought..Cool..Tea and chips...we were both pretty broke after all. Then Then Two plates with half a lobster each... It was the chepaest meal in Halifax...no lie . The lobsters were rejects. bashed shells etc Cafes restaurants wouldnt touch them and so this weird littel cafe bought them for next to nothing. I sent back a telegram ( htas how long ago ) to Dad... In Halifax...stop Broke..stop Forced to eat Lobster....stop please send money.....stop strangely none arrived !!!! LOL ALL TRUE !!
