Didnt Brad Johnson come back via the magoos ?
-
Hed definitely have a big call to make at seasons end. Its one thing to want to..and another to be able to. Hope he can though...for another year.
-
I think we can but not before he's actually 17

nice touch...poigmant

From our persepctive its really irellevent how Nik Nat does. Other than the times we play him. What sense in hypothesising between the two. We have one...over and out. About the only real comparison id make is one has the body ad neds to learn the game, the other knows the game and needs to grow the body. chalk...cheese...etc

Old Dee.. I think a lot of us wat to see him excel and go on to his potential. I generally agree that a pre career in the maggos often leads to a good grounding and foundation upon which to build. But somewhere there comes into it the old adage that youre only as good as your opposition. Keeping Jack down too long ( and yes its a fine line ) might have stymied his growth as a first lie forward. He needs to play on those biger bodied backs and learn the craft of escaping them and surviving the attention all the whiles adding to the teams potency. Its a school of hard knocks if you will but I think now hes in the right place. AFL is faster and more pressured than VFL ad he needs to get used to it. He will seem a little awkward at first , seem a pace off the mark, seem a few yards and a few measures off centre etc. But he will hone this. Hes now in the 'learn on the job" mode. So much is about confidence and the sense of belonging to the game at this level, thats only just happening. There is also the issue that once all fit Bailey wants the forward 'group' to get to know each other out there. Only one way to do that!!

Hmm..facy having a trident?? thats not Demonlike is it ?? ffs I can only imagine the SC has something to do with us being the founders of a unique code inthe southern hemisphere ( or such ) Rules of game almost anonymously in bg..fine by me... we wrote them after all A football...somewhat self explanatory I would hope The stylised flames..who knows..the flames of hell or the olympics..lol your guess as good as mine. Looking forward to the official back story etc. I thik its stylish, simple for what it is and yet conveys much

I would have thought they might try somethng more trad i an aussie rules footy jumper. like...
-
 I think we have better teachers already in our midst!! Aker will have work in his newly chosen field spuiking in his Akermanish !!
-
I would imagine we'll see Jack start to step up nextyear and come into the seniors lineup at the Roosters... probably in the reserves mainly then maybe firsts depending on form and other committments ( school ) I can see him taking a very similar path to another of our Jacks

we are..as well...please keep up...lol

I think..and can only suggest that BP leanings are that as opposed to earlier speculation that the draft would be somewhat dry this year as a result of GC and GWS that is twas actually more the case last year. I get the impression the draft pool is a bit deeper and more rounded than last. BP seems fairly assure that at least our first couple of picks will garner futher talent for the warehouse with indeed the possibililites of another gem slipping to our latter choices but dependent on what the various clubs go shopping for. Mu understanding is we get to clain him (Viney )at next years draft not this. happy to be corrected if not the case. We might be able to nominate him much earlier under f/s but again the AFL has hinted as being a little fluid in this regard. just like Etihad the ground seems to move around certain issues !!

The very nature of the presentation on the MFC site as wel as the general wordings via BP et al seems to indicate its all but a Monty. Still be much better when ratified at some future date. You cant help but salivate when considering our midfield of a few years time

Bate either needs to do a "Russian" and realy impose himself or he will be overtaken by another. Its up to him. He can play footy..just doesnt all the time:rolleyes:

The Next Wave Yes Martha..the clubs keeping a good eye on the lad !! and a very likely lad he does seem !!!
-
Yes..he is a seasoned campaigner, and thats the very point...hes no spring chick anymore and this goes to sensible management of an injury. What point rushing him back to the faster game only to ascerbate his problem? Gets though this and he'll be back inthe seniors next week. Well done MFC

DD ever since we threw that one up its been ( I believe) the most popular. My personal favourite as well. However its ben deemed we have to have a predominanatly white clash jumper. Clever allowing a team to have an all red kit huh !! ....and thats probably why we cant have our red away strip!!
-
There is no way in the world the club would recruit a 34 yo...wouldnt matter if its Aker or the devil himself in boots thats not the STATED ideal of the Club going forward. We are not looking to play seriously in September ( October..lol ) for a year or two and in themeantime its all about games into legs of the kids who WILL be there. Simple as that

going back some years...and Im sure Clint wil concur , various of us have cobbled together desgns including at times the motif. many of us especially like a red jumper with blue MFC. Its simple , bold and very Melbourne , alas its a red one and not in favour with the powers that be. At times we have put up here a jumper essentially white with blue motif but to date nothing inquite the manner as to incoporate teh motif as displayed in the new emblem. Time permitting i'll cobble something up later. it wil show the idea without I trust compromising the proprietary of the new emblem itself.

I think the emblem is quite interesting and look forward to reading the back story as to how and why it evolved to that. A jumper utilising the upper area with red yoke and mfc motif on white ( sort of ala sth -mlb ) might look interesting as a clash effort. Might reinforce the branding as well as appwase teh AFL..and on that note Im still mystified as to why its the AFL that appears on teh trademark info and not the MFC. Anyone care to comment ?

That being ?? If they had something really good youd think that would have been suficient to shut him up...he's not shutting up is he ?

Im not overly sure that Footscray have thought this through too well. hey cite the disruptive influences ( alledged) caused by Aker and yet the inevitable stoush that is about to be played out must surely be louder and larger than anythign that could have been contained behind closed doors. Now Aker is off the leash it will turn into a no holds barred streetfight. Quite frankly a lot of this doesnt really ad up. Footscray crying foul with regards to issues surrounding supposed breaches of trust seem rather sensational giving the history of all parties concerned. Seems much surrounds a book in the offing by Aker and the reaction of certain players to it. What...were some home truths about to be dished out ?? We dont know yet but you can bet that book will be a best seller now. Alledgedly meeting were had by BJ with other players to discuss ( or more poignantly ) direct a witchhunt within a kangaroo court session to oust him. Youd think the leadership group would have simply manned up and offerd their views in person not via squibbing to the coaches. There is much to this that we dont ( and may never know in unbiased honesty ) know. But let us all watch as one lot line up in the Red corner and the rest in the Blue. I wonder if there will be any fall out with respect to memeberships. Whilst Aker may not have induced nearly as many new members as say Hall there certainly seems, via polls and feedback, to be quite some dissention amongst the rank and file as to whether this was not only a reasonable way to treat a player but as to how clever for a team looking to play finals. Undoubtedly there will be divides as to his potential input there but he does ( did ) know how to perform on a big stage under lights and he seemed to be capturing some form in the magoos. There is no real question that he was put to the sword for daring to be an individual in a pc-team-world. Let the spin commence !!!

ref Trade Mark : 1367869 why does the AFL own this ?? Surely this is the Club's...not theirs ?

So...did the Doggies suddenly wake up one morning and see a different Aker to the one they took on 3 odd years back ?? Puppies a littel precious !! lol.. No so much a Woof as a wimper !!
