  1. As the saying goes "one Swallow doesnt make a Summer" One outing doesnt make for an iron clad case either. Two games give just a itty witty bit more to go . Just a little . Thrashing the Giants isnt a surprise... Beating the Swans on debut was not I imagine what many expected. Dont take these guys too lightly. They WONT finish last.
  2. Wouldnt woory about that. Tassie is the most footy mad place ive ever seen. Its all footy and nothing else.. No silly succer..no silly riggedby etc...just footy/ Theyd lap up a team quicker than a dog with a whacko !! Plenty of footy support to go around.
  3. Perth would be stretched I feel trying to support three. I dont know theyd take too kindly from a foreign team relocating...there just a little bit parochial over there...just a tad Tassie will be ripe for a team...they are now but it doesnt suit the AFL just yet. It might very soon. If other sources of money can be found to support a team it will save Vlad and boy wonder from having to.. Darwin or a Top end scenario is probably more a warm and fuzzy idea than a pragmatic one ( for th eforseeable future..however...watch this space )
  4. The league will need 18 teams...but theres nothig to say the Kangas wont face another move( take the money ) or fold predicament. Theres just not a lot of people who really care sufficiently about what happens to Nth anymore. Its dying a slow and painful death me thinks...somewhat sad.
  5. As to her I feel she is both victim and culprit and as such victim of not just her actions as the despicable exploitation by others. In that sense she's just a little bit too clever for her own good. She needs help for sure. Then we have Ricky. D!ckhead now has a new poster boy. Why anyone would want this fool involved with any part of your life , professional or otherwise is anybody's guess. I was going to compare his stumbling legacy of decision making to a Trainwreck but the Trams are more to his liking aren't they !!! He's supposed to be grown up , apparently not
  6. We have an idea of what brilliance Buddy can bring to the game. As to Jurrah I'm pretty sure 'we ain't seen nuttin' yet' !!! His life borders on the surreal balancing what are two extremes of the Australian existence. To keep your head not only focussed and in perspective to those such differing pressures and demands but to actually make a fist of not one but both is nothing short of extraordinary !! They need to clone his blood and bottle it for the rest of us mortals. Having said that .... Do something with that hair !!!
  7. She could write a book !! He did lil . Bet there's a few interesting tales to be told.
  8. I firmly believe that the MFC has not only risen from its ashes to become a Football Club and Team of interest but its becoming a Pillar within the sport. This has everything to do with the personal character and morals of the likes of Stynes, Schwab through Bailey etc. They have created an environment that attracts young men of similar traits ... young men who share not only the passion of football but a code by which to live life. Liam does seem however to take it to an even loftier height. They'll make a film about this bloke one day. I can't remember when a player has had quite such an impact. He's piqued the interest of people far beyond the immediate football audience.
  9. " I did not have sexual relations with that woman !!"' oops sorry wrong bloke !!! lol even looks a bit like him..hehhe why hasnt his licence simply been revoked ?
  10. In all likelihood the sec any bet over a couple of hundred is placed they'd suspend all betting.
  11. will hold opinions till Ess v Sainters.. Bummers had no competition to speak of and still got sloppy. Bit more purposeful than last year... no more dangerous though
  12. Is Brisbane out there..?? Hadnt noticed !!! Yep Umps in white tonight would be fine...its not rocket surgery is it.
  13. Essendon playing tonight in their wide red stripe jumpers. So you guessed it .. Umps in red shirts and black shorts!! Surely they could have worn green ? Is it really that hard !!!
  14. Has Sheedy actually spoken of Scully particularly or just hed be amongst a swag theyd hope to induce. The muck raking began from teh Collingwood camp!!
  15. give the man the cupie doll!! My thought are you could sign a heads of agreement binding the player to the club thwarting all the vultures whilst allowing scope for the particular parties. Everyones happy ( that matters..i.e screw the other clubs!!)
  16. surely the dog wags the tail ?
  17. we'll all sleep better now ^^^^^ , maybe
  18. Lets put it succintly: Melbourne going ^ Nth Melb is going v
  19. I do wondewr just how much is Scully driven and how much Velocity driven. Given a change in manager might there be a shift ( if small) in stance ? Maybe not. He was all up for signing until Velocity put the brakes on. Whilst their view is to wait for TV to be sorted youd have to think being realistically it cant make differences to the nth power. i.e everyone in the biz would have an idea of the ball park for that figure ( TV rights ) and you ought to be able to work from that. I agree with Sylvinator about the contracts ( re lifetime of player ) A happy balance needs to be struck...a realistic balance needs to be struck. The reality is hes 90% potential..and 10% delivered. He ought not be in the elite bracket of pay yet (...let him justify it ) We have a whole team to accomodate !
  20. Well. Ill sit back and wait to see how things actually work out. Would still prefer the Scully camp make some motion towards indicating their ideals. Well Good luck to the MFC and good luck to those negoatiating to stay. Go Dees
  21. very true ..the old negatre the capital gains tax method.. Similar thing..similar !!
  22. You dontthink we wouldnt put a very fair and reasonable( as well as realistic) offer on the table ?whilst I really don't advocate 4-5 years , 3 being ideal in this instance the precedent is there ( Davey) for 4. He is worth to us what he's worth to us . I have faith in Harrington to gauge it right . If he was to seek outrageous he will be on the move.
  23. Ablett said everything except I'll be contracted to Geelong in 2011( or even wanted to be) he evaded that !! . Everything else was waffle. I'd be happy enough if Scully were to say all things being good "I want to be contacted to and play for Melbourne"
  24. Rpfc et al putting on the jumper this year without clear indication of desires hence says , respectfully, only that, that he's playing for Melb in 2011. Given the ambiguity and uncertainty surrounding this all and the lack of any direction emulating from Scully and camp I'll make no assumptions for 2012 or beyond. To me coming out and declaring the desire to play beyond subject to all parties agreeing terms is a huge difference.
  25. There's debt and there's bad debt, unsupportable debt etc. If they have realizable assets to counter the debt along with suf cash-flow to meet the cost of debt then it's no biggee, just business but I suspect much of projected revenue includes 'special' payments. But for the hand of God (Vlad to you and me) Nth could be very shaky !! They're bloody good at dodging bullets I'll give that. We came perilously close and I suspect they're walking the same path. Just they don't have much to call upon; white knights never arrived, alternate games negotiations seem a bit woofy !! They're being knocked pillar to post. Can't survive for ever doing that
