Billy if hes stil contracted then he stays that way. He'll just receive his basic pay. Im corrected.. thought he might have finished up this year. ..hence ABLE to be rookied.. He cant ( if contracted)

Why would we be moving Russian on ? No Deal
-
please...had nearly purged those memories

Theres every benefit to dropping Struass to Rookie list .. its cheaper. Itll take him most of next season to get back to scratch...and /or find a spare spot in team. if he does come good ... re-ssign him..If not..well .. Leave the LTI..for those that get injured next season/nab etc.. LTI's would still be entitled to their normal base contracted salary. Why pay that to someone who IS going to sit out most of the year then play the magoos ? Hard yes, realistic..of course. It is a business after all.

So what does one legitimately read out of it. ?? I dont think the kids afraid of much. He'll get in amongst it when he there or needed. But that sort of occasion allows a person just that little longer to think about things. Was his heart in it? Now some are going to slang me for that...but its a fair question. If youre not really in the zone, or feel like you paricularly ought to be somewhere then people often draw a line. Did he ?

Id have put docklands as a good half kick short and kind squatter than teh G.. The G being more the shape of a ball ( footy ) with Etihad more like.. sort of equal eggy !! ( that might make sense to someone..lol )

In case you were wondering about Colin Sylvia ...

Im honestly unsure of why is necessarily Right. So it requires a better team to make HIMat least 'good'? Isnt he supposed to be one of the building blocks that makes the team better..and by that make others better.. Bit arse about for mine. Lazy, scared....8 season player.... Yep...real keeper -
Some folk seem incapablel of considering the logic and impications, let alone opportunities had TS signed wtih Melbourne already. Amazing

If yesterday was any indication of his 'committment' to Melbourne, then I pass. -
I think if we look at unloading the likes of Bartram , Morton , Dunn etc then the likelyhood is we would get a collection of picks in return. Its these picks which really , if we had too many in this draft would be of littel value but as currency to spice up a deal such as Sylvia to somewhere it might just tip a deal into the "doable"

From the perspective of a player.. id be open. But hes too old. Youll get 1 maybe 2 decent years out of him. That in itself isnt a problem but as weare ( still hopefully ) looking to nudge teh comp come 2013 2014 etx you would , I think be better off getting another younger one in to build into the role of the Power Forward.. If Brendan was say 27..Id be very interested..but he isnt. I say NO...but purely for pragmatism.

In respect to all things Malthouse some here have already noted the likely reality of it all. As often pointed out by a bro-inlaw ( filth ) that The Collingwood success stems from Mickey but is born of a well constructed and immense Football Dept. Its the Coaches Malthouse surrounds himself with that augment his own abilities and secure the success. This isnt cheap Melbourne , I doubt, will have the resources ( read money ) to finance such a comprehensive rebuild of its footbal linfrastructure. Nearly all of the Maggie assistants are on way above league average salaries. Its a not a case of which coach you select but which Coaching Team you can pay for Mickey might be genuinely interested, inded curious as to what he could make of our bunch ( with mods) but unless you can allow him to build his own coaching panel it aint going to happen and hes probably well aware of it

awwww...c'mon chaps and chapettes...its not all gloom.. ( just mainly ) Occasionally the Sun shines...so Im told. As to the why ? Because as a kid from somewhere not here and attending first day of school in grade one another kidasks...as was the way, "Hey, what team do you go for ?" Now me, being of at least averag eintelligence , realised this could be a momentus occasion in my life ( al 5 -1/2 years of it ) answered in the only way I knew. I guessed. I now lived in Melbourne, so like the place from whence I came where football teams were invariably named after teh city you were in I announce MELBOURNE. I thought this had to be the smart answer, the endearing one. My peers would accept me instantly. And they did for this was Feb 1965 and the mighty Demons were reigning premiers of a game I doidnt even know. !! But all thought this was a most fortuitous choice and my colours were stamped for life. Little did I know what was to follow. Some of you lament the 5-10 years of pain. Others scoff with a generation aat least up their sleeves and others still wince at the notion that theyve no only suyffered for years but they now inflict this curse upon their kids.. Some like my self have wandered aimlessly in the land of football for over 4 decades. Im nearing 5. Why do I follow this team? Because I love it. What I hate is the misery it has inflicted over the years. What I detest is half baked trumped up egos parading as footballers. What annoys me are Football Departments incapable of delivery 22 blokes on a day that can ALL kick a football. What pisses me off are young men who allow the boys to carry their load . What deflates is the perrenial game of raise the flagof hope only to see it fly year after year at half mast in respect to anotherr season dead of unrealised dreams. Why do I follow Melbourne ? Because its in my blood. Whilst I see around me in my family and freinds the enjoyment they experience as their clubs hold cups aloft and continue to tease me mercilessly I could never imagine barracking for any other team otherr than the Red and the Blue. Why do I foillow Melbourne? Truly ?? [censored] if I know anymore...but I do Maybe...just one day....maybe............................. yours sincerely Lobotomised

A damning comentary of our club if ever one -
No your not. There is no single answer. The draft is a lottery after teh first dozen or so. But possibly clever targeting and /or looking outside the kids for drafting will offer up something. You cant sack half the team. Nope. But you can look long and hard at it. To not do so is to only perpetuate the cosey cosey nbature some have expereicned on their ride to date. These passengers needs to ride economy or in the freight behind !! Some players have to be churned... no ponit keeping some as teh known entitites of some are simply insufficent to add quality to a team hoping to improve. . Some left field investiveness hs to be employed. There are some 'older' recruits out there...but for the scouting.
-
What is often a misconception about this years draft . It mightnt be a deep as some but its mainly the nautre of the talent.. it will sort of level out after teh first dozen or so..A bit of a lottery after that. If we know who to target we can stilll top up

Davey WAS a gun
-
Bit like a rose bush.. gonna need some serious pruning. Davey cant deal with tags any more..or doesnt want to. Sylvia cant put 3 let alone 4 qtrs of footy together..or doesnt want to. Morton cant get head around notion hes actuall supposed to be one of the bigger players and to play like it.. Bartram has only one side of a game...and thats one side insufficient for todays footy Green cant do both captain and player.. let him try the latter again. Dunn...obviosly cant count to 120 as thats the normal length of a game Jones has al lthe right ideas about the way to go about a game.. just hasnt the library os skills and decisions to back it up Moloney is a 2 dimensional player in a 3 dimensional game..and yet he is stil amongst our best. What does this say about our team ? Rivers has a great defensive side to his game..and nothing else MacDonald has the everything else Rivers needs..but not quite as good at the former. Watts stil lhas bad days..they wil diminish in numbers...theres an obvious trend Trengove is a class above so many in this team its not funny anynmore Russian must shake his head at times.. all that effort for nothing The answer. Some brutal home truths need to be exorcised at Melbourne and just about the whole FD needs an overhaul. It obviously hasnt a clue...and is passing on that great cache of ability to the players.
