  1. I think youre on to something but i dont htink its physical. He's lost the 'will" in a fashion. He doesnt beleive, whether its in himself, the club, its coach or the way forward where'ever .... Footy is so much between the ears and hes not in a good place. Some may think many of us heartless as we seem tosome to overlook the humanity of the game, or any endeavour but its not the case. There is hte person and there is the game. I acknowledge the person but its the game im interested in. You only have to take your eye off the ball a smidge and itll pass you by. hes at the crossroads. As a person I wish him well..As to the clubs fortunes we simply need players of ability who buy in. If he cant, hes moved on, thats life.
  2. Of course footy is a business . You want the smaltzy homliness of a suburban or country footy club... go there. Funny how you want folk to forget these 'professionals" are paid a hell of a lot of money to do their work. What barbie world do you actually live in ? oh thats right ...the one where folk live under bridges !!
  3. resticted free agents as per:The player is eligible to field offers from all rival AFL clubs. If he wishes to change clubs, the player must decide on the best offer of his choice from one rival club. His club has the right to match the presented offer. If the club matches the offer, he may choose to remain with his original club, seek a trade or enter the Draft. If the club does not or can not match the offer, the player can move to the new club of his choice. His original club will receive a compensation pick for the loss of the player, on an AFL-determined formula to apply where clubs lose more free agents than they gain in any single transfer period.
  4. in reality hes been a Rugger for quite a few years. He seems to have lost a yard and now struggles to get his other trademark, a booming kick off.
  5. I agree.. GC or GWS could be happeir hunting grounds for Beamer
  6. Its a conundrum ina fashion. Does one hang too much on what was a past effort as compared to the how and why of the current. Could Beamer regain his form ? How much of that was actually dependent upon his partner in Russian ? Was Beamer simply punching way above his game for a short while.. i.e a filament burnign bright then out !!But for mine the real question is how does a fairly accomplished player go literally fromn Go to Woe so dramatically and so quickly ? Some will undoubtedly attempt to draw in a Neeld corrolation to events but surely thats improabable. Neeld is very much about serious accountability of the player to his game. He appreciates those that get stuck in and this was at the very least a large part of Beamers game, i.e being in the middle of it. Beamer's displaying none of his trademarks in any grand fashion this year. How do you forget to play footy ?
  7. Ah... the notable efforts of a trollHere you take the tact of an argument about one thing and introduce a supposed corrolation to another. There is none. Here you are attempting to suggest one is dependent upon the other where they clearly arent. A person can support Beamer ( if this is the barometer) or not. One can support Neeld , or not. One can support both or neither. Such support or otherwise are independent events What IS weak Stuie is your inane attempts to bait.
  8. The infuriating aspect is we do need him. In a fashion. We need his maturity, though Im somewhat loathe to acredit him with a great deal. Maybe I should ( theres that word again ), but he is an older body out on the pitch, no argumnent. We could certainly use his ability is only he was gracious enough to dein to give itI have no argument either that what many of us say of Colin could also be said of others, wonderful isnt it. However here we are talking of Colin. Im not one who particualrly want s paddock full of kids or recently there of. We need some decent go at it types in the 25-29 bracket. This to some degree opens the door to the scenarios of putting Sylvia on the block and taking the best we can and utilising eithher trade or picks or combinations to grab a few who fall under the 'moneyball " banner. Colin himself in a manner does. he may well extract more results at another club, just as some who are starved of opportunity might should they come to Melbourne. For whatever reasons we dont get good value from Colin. What he could be is long past being a caveat for many a supporter and I beleive this also rings true for those who employ him.
  9. ah I see.. run and hide when anything approaching a 'realist' argument ensues.Im nto so arrogant that I take 100's of thousands of dollars under false pretext. Im not so arrogant I 'make it known" id be happy to move if the club didnt ante up.. Sylvia did exactly this. He wasnt alone over the years either. What exactly have we had for the clubs investment of time , money , resources let alone patience ? What ? A bucketful of 'potnetial" ...perennially it's Potential, never any realisation , just potential, just glimnpses, a few quarters here and there. Never a whole game ( actually I'll correct myself I think there was indeed one,......once ) All this from one of the golden picks. He'll be 27 come next season, hel have campaigned effectively in 9 seasons. FFS he'll be a free agent at the end of next year hes been around that long !! And people still talk of him coming good ONE day !! I reckon the Mayans have a better chance of seeing their one-day as compared the MFC with Colin. Hes supposed to be Elite .... has Elite abilities, but certainly not a comensurately Elite player...............should Should be a respected senior player ..............should Should at least be an established consistent player able to run out games and play to at least 90% of abilitry week in week out..........should Should be an impact player with his above average abilites................should .....and actually in fleeting moments does Theres a lot of "should " about Mr Sylvia
  10. Oh please, educate us. On what basis does Neeld believe Col is an autostart at the Dees in 2013 ? Is this a case of Being John Malcovich-esque ?The FD is 'trialling " everyone, in and out of position to see who passes muster, to see who has the hunger, to see who can play Neeld footy. I wouldnt be betting any real money on Col having passed that bar yet.
  11. in case you havent twigged to what this year is really about, and you wont be alone as obviously quite a few players havent either, its about information and weeding. its intel gathering for the FD to see who is actually as good as their ego and who is worth keeping; whether thats by persevering with in the belief they might come up to their forecasts or simply because they are good and deserve keeping.Id say You and Col are in the same group
  12. well done you heroso when confronted with anything remotely looking like an argumetn you resort to Troll ...good onya If he is fit, and one cansumme he is sufficientlyu so otherwise he wouldnt be seected. Neeld has shown he will not select for selctions sake. So Sylivia is out there to play, to paly to his ability which I concede is very high. he never plays to it though. he has never played out 4 qtrs to his ability. He never figures in any meaingful way in Browlow votes. Doesnt even figure in our club voting, Yeah hes THAT good. !! If players dont want crap put on them its simple...stop playing like crap !!
  13. There is no tanking...Vlad says so
  14. If he is as unfit or injured as some rely on then he shouldnt be out there. He is. Hes deemed to be fit to play, not just fit to play footy but fit to play AFL. > lets move past this "oh hes injured sh!t shall we . He walks over the line hes fair game. His worth is exactly what the market will cough up, whether that be a player or pick or combo there of either on its own or as part of a larger player swap etc. Anything that infects the overall ability of the team must be lanced. Simple as
  15. You act as though Sylvia is !! What to trade for.?? Quite frankj,y whatever we can get. Pointless retaing players just for some supposed value. Many supporters over inflate such players value whilst the market knows its true one. Lets get it quite clear. Any player that WONT play to his ability and/or team instruction is of no real value at all.come back pretty well ? 2 kicks.. yeah, hes tearing the house down !! He does zilch except add to the potential value !!
  16. yeah...but Ill give him that one...lol.. Otherwise 1 kick for a game would look really bad !!
  17. hence my snooty comment.
  18. exciting ? I just want it over am already over it from the Dees perspective. Only the EOS Circus has any interest for me now.
  19. 2 Kicks can any of the Pro-Sylvia brigade please tell me how thats acceptable.!!!
  20. I always found it more snooty than feral. The filth forever win Feral with Vic Park. Windy Hill wasnt often a happy hunting ground for us .
  21. of course he will be...of course..Just like every over year he was going to be !!
  22. A perspective for any of this.... who ( in their right mind) would currently volunteer to play in our defence ?
  23. Theres a lot of errors out there by players who probably wouldnt quite be expected to be on the game day lists yet. Theyre fumbling at times and making some inexperienced decisions that often prove costly. Yet despite this there are glimpses of a team starting to "get it". The 'it' of course being a new way of doing things, the Neeld way.
  24. Even by your take on things its daming of the list.I agree he is not Elite, but he could have been.
  25. if you think hard and long about what you suggest you might actually come up with an observation thats probably not the one you premised !!And it will be that notion that is the one that actually damns Sylvia
