Pretty surprised to say the least. The Steelers were lucky to win with Ben throwing 3 picks. They couldn’t get any separation early on at all. He did make the key plays when they mattered though. NFC East just opened and the god awful thought of the Cowboys making a run is apparent. Carolina cost a few of us big time in the tips, good job Rivera. The Chargers were the big surprise for me. Plenty of talent on this roster but unfortunately they threw it. Lindsay has been a surprise packet for the Broncos, seeing the no. 30 side step into the end zone was shades of T.D! Tomorrow will be a belter.

Really? We’re doing his again are we? A 50-50 road record is nothing to sneeze at, but when we talk about the guy being one of the best ever I expect a bit better than average and I’d expect a few more wins in games like those on the road. I’d also be expecting GB to make the playoffs often with a QB like Rodgers. So it’s not really surprising.

The cheesehead saved his life! Never has a stupid piece of foam been so important. Oh ouch Macca, just ouch!

No Dallas in that list? What a joke. Cheesehead story: http://www.columbusalive.com/news/20160803/massillon-man-recalls-when-green-bay-packers-cheesehead-saved-his-life

Yeah true plus which offensive gurus are out there currently available? I would like to throw up a hypothetical though and I’m prepared to get laughed out of the building for it. Jim Harbaugh.

I liked the cheesehead! Always thought it was because of the heritage and Wisconsin being the largest producing cheese state in America but I think you’re right about the term being an insult originating in the height of the Bears rivalry. Remember in the 90s the guy in the plane crash and the cheesehead saved his life?

Maybe he needs to do a Wenger ? They would need to review, they should be better. The one thing I’ll say is that the Packers are anything but a dysfunctional organisation in my time. Obviously I missed the 70s and 80s so it could have been then but this is still a premier organisation. If you want dysfunction look at us!

Yep and that’s a big thing right now and when you look at a stat sheet it looks like all is ok and Aaron is playing well, which he is. However the devil is in the detail. Yep, he’s miles off Belichick. Most are but he is not close to the same post code. I do think he can coach but I also think after this amount of time that the same voice can get old. I do think there is some frost between Rodgers and him as well. Holmgren used to get frustrated with Favre but you always got the sense that Favre believed Mike could make him better. Just don’t see it with these two.

Yeah look there have been plenty of deficiencies in the Packers roster over time no doubt about it. I think McCarthy is generally a decent coach but has lost his way over the last few years and there is not a perfect fit right now with him and Rodgers. And of course you're a big fan. The truth is that when Jimmy G went down I gravitated to this GB team this year. I've have been taking a keen interest and almost barracking for them in the NFC believe it or not. So when they lost to the hated Seahawks I actually felt like a frustrated Packer fan. I rate this roster they got good defensive talent, need a better running game. Get Mike out and the best guy for AR.

Haha come on Macca that’s insane! Was Robbie was kicking our team’s total scores every week? Well by my ‘logic’ Montana had a 65-25 road record so I guess it rings true ? Ok so if Rodgers is important enough to say Green Bay would be terrible without him right now then why when we mention his road record is it suddenly about the team? It’s not like he played with no-one during this period these were decent Packers rosters. It doesn’t matter though because I think Rodgers is great. The only point I was making was that it was interesting that these two guys from the same team and two of the best of all time both shared this stat because. It’s an odd thing to find in a team with a good coach and QB. Oooh nerves hit and we’re going for the low hanging fruit! Haha ?

I considered the Vikes for a while but the Texans have been the hot hand for me this season so have to let it ride.

Nope, not me. I don’t actually rate KC’s D that highly whereas the Rams are stacked on D and can go up a notch. Rams by 7

I wasn’t insinuating anything by mentioning this stat Macca, in fact I said that up front. Just thought it was interesting that hey both shared this stat. The Robbie Flower comparison is a bit ridiculous when you know better than most how important a QB is to a team’s chances. Whether you like it or not very often it comes down to how good is your quarterback and how good is the one you are facing. I’m a Rodgers fan, but this caught my eye because they are both in my opinion too good to struggle this much on the road. I know a lot of people get super defensive when someone critiques Rodgers’ game and like to blame the line and the defense but surely people can question things about his game. Dumb stats aside I did watch that game (and have watched a lot of Rodgers games this year) and I’m not sure if he was their best by a street. He did very well but something is not looking the same. Even Aikman who defends QBs to the hilt was critical in that key drive. He’s missing open receivers more often and just looks a tiny bit off with confidence (Probably still not 100% healthy to be fair). Don’t know how the relationship is with McCarthy at the moment either. I thought the Pack defense did a good job aside from at the end obviously, they got tired but they’ll always get tired if you keep punting. Of course I remember Favre’s record in SF, it was brilliant, he was brilliant. I also remember his first 11 games in the Metrodome 2-9. That stat is silly yes but maybe not totally meaningless. *For what it’s worth Aikman also had a losing road record ?

Heard an interesting stat today. Favre and Rodgers both had/have losing records on the road. Not suggesting anything but it is intriguing. Yep, to hell with the 12th man.

Best of 3 Grand Final
One of the worst ideas this year. Makes 6-6-6 look like a drop in the ocean. This is not a ‘best of series’ sport. We don’t have 100 game seasons with games every few days. It would never work

Yeah definitely happy with the nucleus, not so sure about the Giants. Had the game spoiled literally as I was leaving for the day and whenever this happens we seem to start well. Breida continues to impress as the makeshift RB but our non existent pass rush was an indictment especially against that horrible Giants line. Funny how we talked about crucial penalties win Donald yesterday, could have had them on 4th down in the last drive, Malcolm Smith with a stupid hold.

Huge loss. Was having an incredibly steady season in the slot. Who steps up for that role now, maybe Woods?

NFL
Suh I can see doing that but Donald is usually a level headed guy was surprised. Massive bone headed act though with a min to go and I agree that lack of discipline will cost dearly. Still waiting for Fowler to break out with a big game, good strip sack though.

Yeah fun to watch this one. Man I love watching Wentz play. Dak looks a million times better when he has a reasonable running game. In this case brilliant running game. At least they will keep Garrett for now ?
