  1. Wong's Chinese Cafe in Glenhuntly Road Elsternwick has been renovated! Opened in 1959 it was the same until october...I had lunch in there today. The Food is still the same....but it did feel a little weird sitting in the "New Room"!
  2. Blacktown Rooted Hill 2012.
  3. Yes, But only after Decca didn't sign them...They had first crack
  4. Oh yeah,Decca had first crack at the Beatles!! I often wonder what happened to the old stuffy suit who did it!! You can just see the MD a few weeks later...."you did what?? You turned them down....YOU STUPID BASTARD!!!!!" sacked for life!!!
  5. The van broke down....did it.
  6. Haha!! Up there with Decca records turning down the Beatles..."this music style will not last"The quickly signed The Rolling Stones once the word was out!!
  7. Japanese sage derby? Venezulian Beaver Cheese? What about Cheddar? Not much call for it round here sir....
  8. It was a Monty Python reference! Thought i would keep the humor rolling.
  9. "we've done bananas sir"
  10. Interesting stat...Where is it sourced. Doesn't change my opinion though...if i am a Captain and win the Toss i will bat, with one exception. If a pitch is wet, not damp but wet and the weather forecast is for dry days ahead. Then i would bowl. But in all other scenario's i would Bat first and Back the team to make a score. Now i know i will come under fire here...no problem. How often is a pitch wet? Not often at all. I can see the merit in what you guys are saying...but i hate the fourth innings chase more than the first innings fight. That is what it comes down to.
  11. It is too much like Baseball to me, without being Baseball....i like both Baseball and Cricket. But 20/20 is like a Hybrid. In the same way i find the International Rules games a yawn. 20/20 there is no subtlety which i consider a huge part of cricket. Lets play a game of chess in 5 minutes.....But why??
  12. Absolutely..i have no interest in watching or following. Boardwalk Empire is a much better option!!
  13. Watch Norman again DC and have a laugh. 'ology has been dead for years.
  14. No you are not PC DC, that is why i was suprised you made the original comment. I mean you are a bona fide Sir Lesley Patterson fan
  15. A top Giggle indeed.
  16. Dyer're wasn't it!!What happened to those great days when humour was more important than being politically correct all the time? Bex and a lie down DC Personal attacks i draw the line at, sure. But any other topic is interesting to read. Particularly over summer.
  17. "SNEDDA'S DIES ON THE JOB" Truth Newspaper Headline outside the Milk Bar. Never forget it. Laughed my absolute ass off when i read it. Had to park the car! Still the most creative piece of journalism i have witnessed.
  18. Don't get me started on little Johnny please. He lied many times as PM (The GST) as his most blatant. He was the first to sleep with the G.W.Bush group of companies and begin a fruitless war that still continues today. I could go on, but won't. I have no time for Gillard either for the record. But i do miss Paul Keating in Parliament. His speeches were delivered with such authority. Howard was a mosquito that hung around long enough to get the job. I don't miss the little war monger at all. Did i mention "Go Demons?"
  19. Bob Hawke's reaction always cracks me up!!
  20. Norman was on the steps of Parliament House as Gough Whitlam made his "Well may we say God Save the Queen Speech" it is incredible Footage...Could never happen today!!! The Guy is a complete world class legend!
  21. I have worked with Molly a few times over the Years....He is part of the Furniture..Terrible in front of a camera, But we did get this piece of Genius in 1980 because of Molly's complete incompetence Let us also remember that Molly back in '66 fainted during the last quarter of the Grand Final, thus missing the Saints win the flag! He was a cheer squad member...Hahaha my favourite Molly story!!
  22. To true JJC. We all watch the game from different chairs.
  23. Of course but that is Test Cricket...You back your team to do a job...The cloud cover over the first 2-3 days in Tasmania always meant the Ball was going to move around..That is why i would prefer to get the runs on the board than to chase....
  24. Who said it was easier?? It is a TEST Match, A Test of mental & physical strength. 150 was a good score on that first day...This was proven by Australia's effort on the second day...ok. Do you follow me??? Now Australia is on the back foot, because no matter what our bowlers do...WE still must chase in the Fourth Ininngs...Never easy as the little Head Gremlins mount up...New Zealand leading by 241 is in the Box Seat, regardless of what the Biased Australians Journalist write... Our Batting line up at this time is very flaky...Not truly awful but flaky when put under pressure The Kiwi's never gave up...Considering what Dave Warner did...it was shameful. But it is always harder to Bat in a 4th innings than it is on day one when the mind is fresh. Yes we made more runs in the 4th innings, but the stakes are higher because you know the total needed, and so do the bowlers....Psychology at play. If you disagree with the above...so be it. But that is my view of the 5 day game.
  25. Sure it would have, But it was never going to happen. The ball was moving around too much due to the pitch and cloud cover. 150 was a solid score under those conditions.
