Will Dave Warner still be an effective opener against a crack bowling attack or could he be even more lethal coming in at 3 once the bowlers are a little puffed out and the ball has aged? He is a brute V8 that could change batting culture at Test level. He plays the 3 types of cricket exactly the same way! I am happy if Warner opens, but is it his optimum spot. Ed cowan's innings was almost as goood as Warner's in a lot of ways. He was batting at nearly a run a ball for a lot of it. But the steady attitude compared to Warner's primal clubbing also helped break the Indian bowling. Warner is all or nothing as a batter, he won't change. Down the track i would like to try him at 3 just to see if he is better (if thats possible!) As an opener he will make big scores but he will also go out in the first over. Look out when Watson returns though. 3 class batsmen we have.

Not if this current list and Football Dept get things right. Look at Geelong, in 2001 they were a mess seriously. A lot of this is attitude and careful planning OD. Yes we have a long way to climb but the hand out mentality will always retard growth.

It's not the travel i worry about. But i am concerned about playing football in top end humidity when we play in southern australia for the rest of the season.
