He played some good games. But far too inconsistent. Good players don't get dropped, Jack still floats in and out too much -
Marvellous Attitude i concur

CLASH JUMPERS IN GRAND FINAL

Where?? -
Can you imagine what would be said today if the Richmond Captain had pulled up and "Squibbed" the contest!! it is a Prelim Final with a GF on the line with 2 players going flat out at the ball.... Collisions happen....
-
Shiel had the ball about 3 frames before Cotchin Both Going for the Ball...Collision unavoidable...

CLASH JUMPERS IN GRAND FINAL
Sir Why You Little replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yesterday the Umps were wearing Yellow/ Green shirts i mean really, the AFL are pathetic. Adelaide are entitled to wear there home strip, no arguement. But where is the "Clash" with Richmond if they wear white shorts??? Gill??? -
Fair enough. The fights at the beach oval back then were for keeps i assure you!!

Bleating minions, that's a good one but no, i am in fact looking at the big picture, which for the most part has been most underwhelming... -
Hard to like Port Melbourne after growing up in Sandringham during the 1970's It was seriously Hate v Hate
-
Dave Misson has a great CV The MFC doesn't and hasn't for decades the problem isn't Dave. It comes from within....

Your eyes are tainted and have been for a long time. Jack has played his entire career in cruise control It could have been so much better... it is no suprise that other clubs are showing no interest... -
A COLLISION WAS UNAVOIDABLE WITH 2 players attacking the ball FFS!!
-
What the hell does all that mean??
-
Do not miss quote me His intention was the ball, the collision was unavoidable...
-
His intention was the ball, never to tackle and he won it. It's a brutal game and collisions occur There is a very big difference between incidental and intentional. Look at most pack mark situations, we never question those, if a player is hit in the head in a pack it is deemed bad luck
-
No we are not. Cotchin braced for unavoidable contact, yes. But his intention was always the ball. I have no doubt.
-
Absolutely correct. The Ball ended up in Cotchin's hands. Both players are going for the ball in a final Contact is unavoidable, unless one of them "Squibs" and that was not an option

His form before the injury was acceptable, i wouldn't call it sensational. He still tackled with one arm far too many times. No player should be doing that -

I agree with your last line. The rest Jack Watts could have fixed himself. Respite from what? His own attitude towards his profession he is more interested in selling expensive board shorts sadly, We all know he has the talent At Melbourne there are Line in the sand games, but the attitude is only there for a week, then it fades... I have seen it long before Jack was drafted, but i do remember the article in 2010 where Jack was was quoted "Losing doesn't really bother me too much" the alarm bells rang in my head that day. Will Jack ever play a game like Daniel Rioli did yesterday, when it really counts is he that motivated? -
Both players going for the ball, there was always going to be a collision. It all happened in less than 2 seconds and not in slo mo, normal speed. In 2005 Barry Hall was cleared after a disgraceful punch we all saw Cotchin had eyes for the ball and the impending collision...
-
Not if his intention was for the ball, which i believe it was

Wow!! Are you a family member of the Watts Clan or maybe went to kindy with Jack? i watched Jack play school footy for BGS long before he was drafted, my Brother and Dad are both from BGS Jack always has had talent, always. but his attitude has never been focused. Do you honestly believe he would have thrived yesterday? Because yesterday is what it is all about... i heard what Jones said on radio, and nothing he said was out of line. How many more times does Jack need to be dropped from the side or disciplined in the pre season for not having the right attitude? -
Jones won't step up anymore than he already has done. People have been waiting a decade for it to happen already. Viney will, if his foot allows him to
-
Rule number 1. Watch th incident in real time, not slo mo or frame by frame. 1 frame = 1/25 of a second you cannot expect anyone to make 5-6 different decisions in the space of 1-2 seconds. I believe both players were going for the ball, bracing before impact is a natural instinct and very hard not to do
