  1. I can't wait for Saturday Afternoon. It's going to feel a bit like a final i reckon. Bring it on!!!!
  2. What is it about Bailey that you don't like? i am sick of reading these snide comments. DB has done a very difficult job over the last 2 1/2 years. And he has done it with style & authority. Who would you prefer to be in his position??? Let's hear it.....
  3. Changing the year only disguises the Fact. Why Bother? What this stat shows is that from 1995 to now we are the worst performed side in the AFL Home & Away series. Our appearences in Finals only makes it harder to believe.
  4. Reilly may not have been told that when he took over the coaching job, but by Round 21 I am dead sure he was making & taking phone calls. The Tanking of Round 22 2007 is not the issue here. We all knew it existed (except KB of course). BUT the fact that Reilly was at Carlton within days of that game being over will never sit right with me. The Club & Supporters got shafted that night- absolutely pantsed. May it NEVER happen again.
  5. Yes i know all that pretty much. The Rev did have his share of bad luck in those mentioned years, but would a different coach have done better or worse in the job? Other AFL clubs have had similiar injury and retirement scenario's but never have i seen a yearly graph like the one ND presided over. There were other reasons for it that i would love to find out-But as long as the Club has addressed them i will be satisfied.
  6. Reilly was never going to get the MFC coaching job RR, the Carlton Assistant job was his. The rest of what you say makes no sense.....
  7. sure the Reverend worked Hard at Melbourne don't get me wrong, but i have often wondered whether a different coach would have had the same dips. The odd/even scenario was just surreal!! It was the whole club really-the old Band Aids were starting to give way.
  8. You just like to Argue RR. Reilly getting the Carlton Assistant job days after this game finished shall always leave a very sour taste in my mouth.Regardless of your retorts. Yes Melbourne were always going to win, It was like a wrestling match-the coin had been tossed during the week. Funny how both coaches were working together at the Draft table months later. For your info i did clean up at the TAB that weekend-Most solid Bet i can remember...but i was also a little sad as i collected as i knew we also lost.
  9. I think this stat shows very well how Bad we have Been. No point making excuses. In the not too distant past we have been shocking, Considering we had the players to make final series in a lot of those years, and then to fall to the bottom so quickly with that same list...Who Else did that as regularly as the MFC? No One. These stats i hope are used by our present administration as a Motivator to never get to that situation again ever. Lets not try to sweeten them up, that statistic is what it is. Home & Away wins since 1995. Games that All clubs played. MFC is on the Bottom. Our Finals appearences only makes our other years look all the more bad. Too many players were to well paid for too long i think. Thank Christ those days are over it seems. This is why we as supporters must never again accept a loss as being "good enough" Sure they will happen i know, but what ever caused it must be worked out & eradicated ASAP. Something that sadly ND couldn't conquer-he had no plan B. The years we made the Finals we never apart from 2000 finished as high as we should have, always dropping winnable games other teams wouldn't. This is why i believe CS player Graph rating system is important. And it must be adhered to. Players who do not cut it must be relieved from the list. The good kids must be encouraged to become great. The least number of wins since 95. What a disgrace. I am glad that Vlad put the boot in to us a couple of years ago. He probably was looking at this stat just before he said it.
  10. I gamble when the odds are good. And on that day they were a certainty. "Bomber Reilly" would have already had a good sniff at that carlton job while coaching that game. Set himself up very nicely. What was it a week later he accepted the job??? Hmmm
  11. Yes i agree, but for 2010 having so many games at the 'G by round 12 has certainly helped our Membership. Maybe Vlad really wants to see the MFC prosper and realizes we are an important asset for the future, either that or our "wish List" last year was brilliantly written!
  12. It all comes down to one thing. A very simple rule that always works as long as it is implemented wisely. "You must Spend Money to Make Money" Clearly Voss and certain parts of the Sydney Media do not realize this or more probably do not want to admit it.
  13. But the Draw is not about being fair. It's about making money, and the Big 4 Clubs (i hate that term) can make a lot more at the MCG. Don't hold your breath on a "fair & Eqitable" draw. It will not happen. P.S. The MFC draw this year has been superb so i am not worried.
  14. Totally agree. We need Members on the Database. It doesn't matter how they got there at this stage.
  15. For the MFC to stop being Fixtured to play Geelong at skilled Stadium, we must consistantly pull 70-75,000 people to our home games at the 'G Until that happens we will be drawn to play down there.
  16. Correct, Some people are just not satisfied ever. Our Draw this year has been Superb. The AFL have given us every chance to get back on our feet- what more could they do in the first 12 Rounds???
  17. I like Phil Gould & genuinely feel sorry for these guys, But it's too late. When the NSWRL became the NRL that was the chance they had for the Corporate $ (But then the Super League didn't work so maybe they did try) The Back Bone of the Riugby League was always the League's Clubs & i don't think these are nearly as populiar anymore. Cost of living, no smoking etc etc. Attendances or memberships have never been even close to the VFL/AFL ever.
  18. That's not what Ray Hadley said this morning on SEN...he was all dismissive of it, but yes off air i bet he was heartbroken!!! only one of these guys need to make it and the walls of the NRL will crumble.
  19. Never forget to remember the MFC to Chris in the years ahead. I still hope that he may end his career in the forward pocket a Demon...it would be nice.!!
  20. I agree, Cameron Ling would have Bulldozed Scully & Trengove last saturday. Nobody has mentioned mental fatigue either, which could easily be another reason for a rest for 2 young minds, who do have a lot of responsibility.
  21. But thats just it. When Bizzell was recruited when we were trying to win a flag. It didn't happen, & i understand where you are coming from. But it was no Fault of Clint Bizzell he certainly held his end of the bargain. Clint was a Fearless defender for the MFC and i went to some games just to watch him play.
  22. Clint Bizzell played some Fine Fine Games for the MFC. Nothing wrong with that Draft.
  23. Always good to remember Sean Wight. He really was a Top Line defender particularly during the 87 run to the finals & Finals. Nobody could read him as to what he was going to do. He would be still a remarkable player today.
  24. Yes i read that article over lunch & it Disturbed me. This is more motivation for us to succeed for an extended period of time......A worse win/loss than the shockers....oh the pain.
