  1. Agreed. Today Beamer was a real leader. May it continue.
  2. The Fight is far from over. We as MFC supporters must send Jimma constant energy to help him. Jimma is family to us all. Forever.
  3. Sure i agree with you. But our forward line is not playing senior footy yet (Bate & Greeny aside). Yes it is not acceptable to not win, but The MFC can be proud of our Block buster fixture today. Another 20-30 Games into that midfield, Liam Jurrah. A Jack Watts who doesn't stop and think before doing. In time he will just do. Remember if Greens last shot had not shaved the post we would have been 12 points up. Today is another great game to file away and use as a learning tool in future.
  4. I thought it was a great game. That coverage went all over the world, & the MFC stood up on the big stage. The team will learn heaps from that game, At the moment we match top sides sporadically. Soon we will dictate weekly. Great to see some Flash Magic today. I was proud of the team today. Our Queens Birthday game is alive and very well. Top turnout from the Demon Army today. Take a bow. Our kids stood up-Jamar Beamer Green all Great. That was september pressure today.
  5. Jako's soccer goal at the Punt Road end is still one of the best ever. Sadly that night Peter Daicos kicked 12-13 up at carrara against the Bears so Jako's feats were a little over shadowed in the media. was always a bit peeved about that!! Allen Jakovich was the most unique player i have seen. When "on" he was breathtaking. I always considered him to be the Jimi Hendrix of AFL. A Flawed Genius who's career burnt so bright but was gone too soon. I hope Jako gets down to the MFC one day-he sure left his mark on the place. Number 13 really suited Allen.
  6. Could have been. Jako was totally in the zone that day!!! Been a long time since i watched it. He was reported during the match as well!!
  7. Yes Jako kicked 11 in '91 against North in 3 quarters. G Lyon kicked 10 against Footscray in the '94 semi final. I still have them both on VHS.
  8. Maybe? Our First Quarter efforts are critical. At the moment the team is struggling to break momentum of opposition teams early. And our draw in the last 10 games is nowhere near as user friendly as the first 12. Tomorrow's game could tell us a lot, as we do not have our captain or Sylvia. Someone has to really stand up and lead the side.
  9. We lost to the Eagles in melbourne, quite comfortably if you remember. I agree that the eagles are one of the 2 worst sides in the league.
  10. If our forward line kicks no more than 7-9 goals a game from now until seasons end, the MFC are a big chance to collect the spoon again. Jack Riewoldt has found his mojo, and we should never have let the eagles beat us at home. Hopefully tomorrow will change my view, but so far this year compared to other sides our forward line is almost a blank page. Lift Tomorrow Demons.
  11. John Clements did some work for my dad (labouring) during the early 70's His career started brightly but stalled. I think i remember him kicking a bag against Geelong at the 'G in '73. It was my birthday so it has stuck in my memory.
  12. When Simon Left the Coodabeens i stopped listening, i now hear it in my dads car on the way to the ground. Dads radio is welded to the ABC Timmy and his dad and uncles!!! Brilliant. The remand centre was accessable to Etihad stadim via a man hole!
  13. Bring back Ivan from Ivanhoe. I still have many of his phone calls on cassette tapes. Priceless humour!!!
  14. Who else has kicked 8 goals in a game on our list this year?? Credit where it is due. Lynden deserves a game on Monday. It is a game where we want to kick a winning score if at all possible.
  15. I don't know whether Lynden is a Gun, but he does deserve a few games in the forward 50 as no one else apart from Greeny is showing any strength. The little guys need to work of some targets as well. So yes i would play Dunny closer to Goal and say Go for it-Show us what you have got.
  16. This could be his moment...He must play a Blinder though. No excuses.
  17. Sean Wight would definately be close to making that all time side of the pas 50 years. His Athletisism was above almost all the competition in those 87-91 years. He was Fearless and Frugal. Top Defender.
  18. Yes i agree with that completely. So does The Ox's knees. If only we had A Grade training facilties when he was a young boy. Would have given that Carey Tool a run for his money B)
  19. I don't mind when we play the Filth to be honest, as long as it is Twice each year. Round 2 this year was an awesome game, & a great way to ignite the year (after the week before) Queens Birthday is a public holiday-it will continue to be Big But if we play the filth late in the season when one team is out of the race, then it will lose its shine. I hope we always play Collinwood when both teams are still planning on being in september. B)
  20. With Careful & shrewd planning i still think good recruiting can & i hope will occur. Margin for error will increase i am sure, but like any job the MFC can still recruit good players, as long as our top line players do not leave for better offers. The Big unknown at this stage is how much trading these new teams will be involved in. I doubt they will keep everyone they recruit. The Job that BP and his team have will become more accountable but i don't think the sky is about to fall in on the MFC. I would love to hear what Cameron Schwab & Jimmy think in terms of our position going forward, at this stage i put my trust in them to have thought it all through as much as is possible.
  21. Ahh yes i gathered that, (just a little Humour jcbee
  22. Thanks for that, a truly great side. Pity there was no room for Graeme Osbourne (7) Greg Parke (26) John Gallus (5) I was a huge fan of all 3 when i was a kid in the very early seventies..!! Go Demons....
  23. Interesting post Stylus, don't forget to factor in the wheeling & Dealing of Draft Picks that will also go on. GWS are actually getting an extra 4 Draft Picks that they must Trade as the condition-get some older players to go up. Recriutment officers jobs are now heavy stress careers i am guessing. Every Draft Pick will be scrutinized so thoroughly.
  24. 8-12-60 v 2-2-14 What Beautiful numbers they are. B) B) B) B) B) B) B)
  25. Here Here. White is the colour of surrender which i stated on monday. It's genuinely a little sad to read that people actually think jumpers do Clash...What do you expect to see a complete 100% perfect no mistake game?? We play with an oval ball. It's also sad that people do not think our Jumper is worth Fighting for every week. Look at the NRL, those clubs change jumpers yearly-Let's see how long that comp lasts. They are starting to show desperate signs. The AFL was always built on Tradition until 1986-since then Values have slowly eroded away. Considering Cam Schwab's talk of the new Emblem being unfurled soon, i put our Traditional jumper in the same category. I do not give an absolute stuff what other clubs do or decide. But by Christ i care about the MFC. Red & Blue are the colours i shall have over my Coffin when i am lowered. Not some cheap shoddy Clash Strip..... B)
