it may not be fair but that is my understanding of how the draft works for OOC players if they go that way
another club (non SA) could draft him, he could refuse then he would have to stand down for a year. But what club is going to risk a pick for that to happen?
They cant " just walk to the club they want " any club before the one they want can select the player. the situation here is unique in that he will refuse any club other than SA.
As far as trades go
At trade time he is out of contract
He can just go into the draft as an uncontracted player and take his chances
Realistically only the 2 SA clubs would bid on him if at all
The fact he walked says it all
He doesn't need to get involved in trades
Even if he did he is such a risk the trade-return would be minimal
whether it is right or wrong i think liam has done a dis-service to other budding remote indiginous stars.
clubs will be very wary on going down this too often one-sided path
i don't think liam's manager has handled this at all well
very disappointed by this saga on many levels
What a season. Not only did we lose again but the grandson came over on Sunday and ate all my remaining bananas
Brekky just wasn't the same this morning, but the sun did come out and the sky was still there
which raises the question. did freo do due diligence? by all accounts they didn't talk to anyone other than Lyons
if we had done what freo did would we still be arguing about due diligence?
i just dunno
well it appears you 'got' it
just to clarifty, the second sentence was an obtuse joke. i.e. he mistook my identity so i deliberately mistook his
for the record BH is one of my favourite reads on footy matters
