daisycutter replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
What tree have you been living in ben? Prophylactics with lots of "knots" in them have been doing a roaring trade for years LOL -
The old VFA tried to open the game by having 16 a side with no wingers (old fashioned talk for a type of midfielder)

I can't see having our own standalone team would make one iota difference you're all being over emotional
-

Strictly speaking he is not an elder (leader) of his people as is often claimed. He is far too young for that I think this idea is confused with the fact that he is an initiated member of his tribe Initiatiation is a rite signifying the transition to adulthood which some but not all Walpiri young adult males still participate in

If you did a bit of basic research you would understand why Adelaide and why not Melbourne

Tom Couch - runner up in JJ Liston Trophy
daisycutter replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
No argument about bottom line Just than Liston votes (lack of) doesn't 'prove' someone is a dud Same with Brownlow - many famous examples -
You'd have to be crazy to want to be a head coach So you probably do need a psych test for the coach just to ensure he is crazy enough Simple really n'est ce pas

I think bluey that the club will give him his full 3 years and then make a decision. I expect next year to be bleak with so many new faces and at the beginning of a rebuild. I don't expect we'll pick up much experienced talent this draft To axe him next year would just be too much turmoil and given that the board has given him the ok to wield the axe not enough time to measure progress I expect many will be calling for blood next year but he will see out at least his contracted 3 years End of 2014 will be a MFC watershed and not just for the coach -
What would restore your confidence?

Congratulations to the nominated Dee's players. At last some good news Oh.....wait a minute

I can see what you both are saying He gave a reasoned opinion which basically just said that it could have been handled better - fair comment He never suggested Neeld should be palsy with the players as you claimed or didn't have the right to lay down some tough love I think both your opinions have merit. Sometimes it's just the balance not he's right/your wrong
-
He never said anything about being mates with the players He agreed neeld had every right to get tough and set new standards He hoped neeld's approach would work He just questioned neeld's people skills in the initial phase suggesting he could have handled it better for a better outcome That's not too hard to understand, unless you think he should be free of any constructive criticism
