I would imagine that premiums for such insurance in this type of occupation would be prohibitive There might be some form of self insurance pooled between clubs by the afl but it would be limited

because that would be a condition on him pulling the pin otherwise he simply wouldn't pull the pin redleg's idea is better pay him for next year (as contracted) but give him a non-playing role as in coaching, mentoring or something else he gets his money and experience in his next phase of employment - win/win
