you are just stating the obvious problem is we are in a catch22 situation which is becoming moreso without a list we are nowhere if (and it is a big if) we can work our way out of this it will take years and years and years at the moment there is a just faint glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel and the afl commission says we don't need a pp because our list is very promising what does that tell you about the genuineness of the afl's equalisation intentions they are only interested in maintaining our pulse and keeping us alive on bread and water to satisfy the broadcast deal of 9 games a week

If we lose a FA, but then take a FA we get penalised by losing compensation (or get buggar all) however if another club (like freo or sydney) takes a FA and doesn't lose any FA's they suffer no penalty how is that equitable. where is the penalty for the net-FA-gainer? If there is none then FA takes should not be netted to an FA losing club but it never was supposed to be equitable was it
