  1. grimes has had years and years playing as a backman. the fact he's played a bit of midfield this year doesn't negate all the backline experience whether he is the best replacement for jetta is another issue.....he's certainly done well at vfl level and has been emergency a no. of times
  2. " . Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying " and we know matthews is certainly trying most times
  3. there is a difference between ducking INTO a player, versus ducking UNDER or AROUND a player's tackle (so to speak!). the latter is a perfectly acceptable manoeuvre. after all a player is not obliged to just let a tackler tackle him how he pleases
  4. it's not the judge who gives a discount for pleading guilty though it's the prosecution doing a deal to either drop charges, lower the severity of a charge or recommend a certain punishment, in exchange for a guilty plea or to provide information in a separate case. there is a separation of prosecution, defence and judgement. wheras in the afl sysetm the prosecution and judge are the same and in the case of the mrp, there is not any defence. it is a system where you are first found guilty (or innocent) without a defence and by a prosecutor acting as a judge, which is very different to the criminal justice system
  5. she obviously kicks better when wearing a demon's jumper
  6. i'm quite sure precedents are taken into account by the members of the mrp (and tribunal) when they discuss among themselves a particular case. as far as the mrp goes the accused is not allowed to cite anything (precedents or otherwise), in fact he or his representative aren't even present the only chance you get to put up a defence or discussion is if you challenge it and it then goes to the tribunal, but then you have to risk, generally, an extra week, being the "bribe" you could have accepted for keeping your mouth shut and being a good little boy
  7. or maybe given it's only the lions, took advantage of a week for neville to freshen up and come back stronger for the port game
  8. bad move nut
  9. not sure what signing really means demons vs lions womens game is on this week at the G before the men. presume all concerned are signed up (at least for whatever comp you call this years). can't see how you can sign up to a club in a new competition that doesn't even exist yet, let alone a club still vying for one of a limited no. of licences however, got the impression the afl indicated previously that they would allow each club to sign up limited marquee player(s)
  10. he said to me the other day that if demonland doesn't get off his back he'll be heading west
  11. because he can (potentially) become a dfa via breach of contract irrespective of essendon delisting him secondly, if he doesn't want to become a dfa then he can't be a rfa because he would not be out of contract therefore no afl compo picks is that clearer?
  12. jetta, dead set unlucky. bont coming in from behind, jetta raises arms in self defence instinctively, followed by gold logie bont performance how that could be classified as intentional is crazy. would seriously consider appealing (except for port game risk)
  13. why? he'll be a dfa
  14. agree about the mismatch between probable outs and ins, which makes me think jack grimes might get a look in.
  15. if the afl get involved they'll probably put up a facebook poll to seek opinions - LOL
  16. i don't think that has actually been approved officially so it is still supposition. it was aflpa's opinion doubt essendon would go to court on it, but who knows. if a player doesn't want to be there in this environment doesn't make sense to force him
  17. Jess Hogan 2016 8 games 18 goals 14 points - 56% 7 games 11 goals 13 points - 46% (i.e. omitting the St.Kilda game) This excludes the out of bounds and those that didn't make the distance from within 50m But nothing to worry about..............
  18. waste of time with you mate. you just keep on dreaming then
  19. where did i say anything about the distance of his kicks just quit apologising for his kicking action and accept it's flawed and needs changing. it's not that hard to understand we are talking about a professional sportsman who will probably demand a $1m+ a year fcs
  20. problem is steve, he obviously doesn't feel comfortable with it, that is plain to see whatever the reason (excuse?) it needs to be fixed. he doesn't have the problem on the run so, stop making excuses and accept it is a real problem that needs serious work or he will be destined to fall short of his potential, which no-one wants to see
  21. i lost count of the number of dropped marks we had today, in stark contrast to the dogs and don't get me started on kicking skills, they carved us up royally on kicking accuracy while we played this crazy 20m zoning crap. either the defensive game plan is flawed or the whole backline can't or won't implement it. it leaks like a sieve. and crazily we stuck with it for 4 whole quarters
  22. but everyone here said leave him alone, his [censored] kicking action is effective and his conversion rate is excellent - [censored] lol someone better start teaching him how to re-wire his technique and kick like a footballer
  23. say hello to bbo tomorrow then, josh
