  8. tassie looked at bit disappointing, lost easily to nsw, qld and nt. no-one in allies squad of 35 need an academy there badly or was there another reason.....nasher?
  9. you've convinced me binman, now you just need to convince dion we are a destination club
  10. it's a lot more than him just raising one arm though. i note 4 different concurrent movements (not necessarily all 4 every time) if you see the oliver tackle from a few different angles and in slo-mo you will see all 4 quite plainly
  11. lol - not a chance. keep your day time job
  12. presumably, yes
  13. as you know a lot of the rules are very rubbery. the first step is for the game's administrators i to recognise this pattern emerging and make a judgement that it is not in the spirit of the game and worse, could lead to serious injuries (esp. head trauma). the next step is then either change the rules explicitly or tell the umpires to change the interpretation, accompanied by a strong educational program with the players (and coaches). it shouldn't be done via the "rule of the week" blitz.
  14. think you just answered your own question
  15. top of ladder 2015 to bottom of ladder 2016 without a single win.... if this isn't tanking i'll go hee.................why aren't the media all over it lyon has publicly stated their season is shot (after only 9 games) and they'll focus on "development" players a.k.a. they are after the #1 draft pick come hell or high water. they are even cracking connolly style jokes and the media giggle and even draw up graphics on how they can "list manage" the season out for the #1 pick. hypocrites all.
  16. yeah, the byes are a joke. they also start the season late
  17. works fine in chrome - just cut/paste the title text (or some of) from the title
  18. i think it misleading to call his technique "ducking" as it is quite a different combination of movements. "ducking" usually means dropping your head into a player by bending forward at the waist mathieson's technique involves a number of movements (not necessarily all at the same incident), but none of these movements are an attempt to avoid the tackle (which might legitimise the movements). in fact he deliberately entices the tackle. i think this lack of trying to avoid (or break) the tackle is the starting point to differentiating his technique. and yes he is not the only one, but he is very blatant and if it is allowed to continue (successfully) we'll see such free-staging becoming more common. that is the way of professional sport
  19. i prefer joe cocker's response myself
  20. comments like that have a habit of blowing up in your face............oh...wait...
  21. depends how much the winning club slips the manager under the table i suppose
