i was talking short-term. he was copping a bit of flack on land with some wanting him dropped.
-
should be pointed out that brashaw only has 58% game time for 20 possessions, so he's certainly finding the ball, but not always capitalising on his disposals. bad conditions and being a little rusty didn't help. need to give him more time and he'll be ok
-
might be pushing it a little, earl as they have a no hipster policy. besides, there are issues of territoriality to consider. you could try the coburg ladies martial arts club though.
-
with his vast experience he would be the dom

a publicity stunt, bbo????

come to think of it, i did notice a shady character hanging around the fringes with a fake cuban accent chatting up some society nob trying to sell him a guava paste franchise. The poorly fitted rug had me fooled at the time. and i must say i far preferred the canapes at the mont albert ladies tennis club.

and the DWOTW award goes to jnrmac for "conniptions" - congrats keep up the good work

LGBTQIA is now the new LGBTI anyone like to forecast when the seven-letter-acronym (7LA) becomes a ten-letter-acronym (10LA)?
-
that was the problem apparently........no-one was

uncle, were those your lads in the aami alpaca ad who managed to scare the sheila into disrobing? the occupants of the car seemed to be earl and conchita but i'm not sure.

we are not necessarily disagreeing, macca. we both agree too many sports don't do adequate testing and pay lip service. I just don't have your confidence that "olympic sports" (excluding the likes of soccer, b'ball, tennis, golf etc) have adequate testing. maybe a few but not many, and the big flaw is that the testing is done by their own sports body and not independently by someone like wada (as was pointed out in 4 corners)
-
you mean truth in the rumour that john ralph is w@nker? definitely true.
-
i don't understand this comment, macca. what is an "olympic athlete"? some olympic attendees don't even get selected until weeks before the olympics. olympic athletes come from many different sports and each sport (as the video showed) have their own testing regime. Are you saying professional olympic basketballers, golfers, tennis players, soccer players get tested 30-40 blood tests (or any other tests) per year? Of course many professional sports bodies pay only lip service to drug testing and administration, but you just can't group all olympic athletes together and say the get adequate testing
-
roughly my thinking too
-
ok, so state a price, bub

well 500k on the old cap is probably 550-600k on the new cap. so if his manager is asking 700k it not a silly ambit position
-
hope you watched 4 corners tonight on drugs in sport, macca. casts big doubts over your 98% clean forecast (actual not tested) even the now clean ones could be receiving long term benefits from prior use whilst sporting bodies test and judge their own it will always remain suspect they even cast aspersions over usain and his fellow jamaicans

i just watched a rerun of the brady bunch to calm me down and fantasised over bananas
-
yet dawes was (reportedly) on 600k (and on the old salary cap deal) anyway, i'm just cherry picking with dawes just as you are cherry picking with gibson we aren't going to keep/attract players offering hawthorn type contracts (for obvious reasons) and suggesting 400k for tmac is an insult i don;t know what tmac is really worth under the new (yet to be announced) salary cap but it would be a lot lot more than 400k

macca, i got hooked on footy at age 5 at prep grade. I can still remember it. my parents had no interest in it at all, i had no mentor or such-like and there was no tv or social media. I don't know why but i just did. it was purely a self motivated thing, and it has stuck. doesn't mean i like all aspects of today's footy but i have to admit many things are better now. naturally i'm still nostalgic for many of the old ways but not enough to be disenchanted with the game. vive la difference
-
there was one other early in the game (1st qtr?) where he had time to execute but didn't seem aware of tackler. i thought he'd be pinged for holding but somehow got what looked like a late and lucky 5 metre kick away
-
well macca, footy is my first love so that's always hardest to ignore but in general i agree what you say about afl issues i'll still watch some olympics but it's just a fact i'm losing interest. if it stopped tomorrow most of the sports would continue with their world cups, world championships etc so we'd still get to see the best just in a different setting. the olympics has moved so far from its origins and ideals one wonders whether its worth the sham to continue in its current format

article in hun says he had 22 possessions, so not quite sure which is correct.
