  11. but......assuming the result is no further action and the incident is closed......what can they say that will satisfy everyone? I'd suggest they would say nothing of any great substance and all that would achieve would be raising more media, public awareness and discussion let's not forget (a) we don't know the complainant (b) we don't know the accused and (c) we don't now the details of the complaint. We have been told the complainant doesn't wish to make a formal statement. In essence this issue hasn't even got to first base and we would have known nothing if someone hadn't leaked it and the media ran with it. Interestingly the media dropped the whole story after one day. I agree with rjay's post above
  12. the club flick-passed it to the afl. if there is a follow up it should first come from the afl. it could be that all parties plus the afl and club feel that the matter is closed and no ongoing publicity (i.e. communication) is the best solution in the circumstances and the media has agreed..........there again...........................
  13. plus the similar end of season fade-out in 2016
  14. well they didn't with milne. iirc. but i suppose that was quite some time ago and things have changed. still, they would need to have some good info/facts to do that and go public
  15. in all fairness maurie, it should be pointed out that many of the 'captains of industry' are not taking their new-found climate stances purely because they are 'true agw believers' or out of a sense of altruism (unless you believe in the tooth fairy) i know someone very well who works for a very large financial corporation whose job is 100% interfacing with all the agw lobby groups and government bodies. At the end of the day many of these 'captains' are steering their ships in the direction of least resistance with maximum revenue and profit always very much in mind i would be reluctant to use major businesses as examples of the validity of agw, when they have so many other well known agendas just saying....
  16. just to give a more complete picture of co2/temperature ranges across the ages note cambrian period with 7000ppm co2 and a average global temperature of a 22C note all the other times where the average global temperature has been around 22C (quite a lot of the time actually) and look at the corresponding co2 levels. there doesn't seem to be a very close correlation
  17. but not as a principal (emirites) or major sponsor (aami, james boag, kennedy, myer) i still hope it is lexus

  19. and a happy saturnalia to you, and everyone on 'land
  20. and to you and all, uncle
  21. agree with the stop start. but they do fill the stadiums. which is not surprising for cities the size of melbourne with only 1 team and 8 home games. most fans i met try to get to 1 game a season and they make a big day of it, otherwise the sports bars do well
  22. in a previous life i used to go to minnesotta a lot. nobody (but the rich) bought season tickets for the vikings. it was just too expensive yet there was only 8 home games a season. people used to form groups to buy season tickets and company social clubs would buy slabs of season tickets then onsell to members for individual games based on methods like lucky draws etc. every game had scalpers.
