I'm really enjoying this discussion on Micro Economics
If I ever start up an University, I will know where to look for lecturers
Can I suggest we start a new thread on "Brain Surgery in the 21st Century"?
Edit: Sp
E25, belting someone around the ears, kicking him in the nuts then saying "do the right thing, pal" is probably not the most unifying nor diplomatic approach to building a desirable "family" club
I know you are a pitbull, but isn't it time you desisted and called it a day
Well, this thread was not meant to be about you
However, I can't agree with your thoughts on notoriety.
It doesn't necessarily have to have anything to do with truth, attention seeking or poster abuse.
You can be notorious and tell the truth (arrogant or not) without being attention seeking especially if you are a frequent poster and others wish to vigorously debate your point of view.
One can be "notoriously truthful" or "notoriously abusive" or "notoriously arrogant" or . . . . . . . .
You can be a notoriously defensive at times though (as we all can be)
Welcome Chopper
I left too. You might remember some of my aliases there - GG, Mikey, Dedleg, Robbie, YM to name a few
Gotta few here too - rpfc, E25, Rhino and a few I'll keep secret
I'm sorta the United States of Daisy
Anyway, welcome again
I'm not too worried
It doesn't make a lot of sense for GWS to pay above the odds for a 20YO whose best football will be when he is 24-25 when GWS salary cap has been reduced and they have a sh**load of high priced players. They can get plenty of young elite players from the drafts at bargain prices. I would expect they would use their war chest on more experienced older players with a proven level of performance who are less likely to shoot thru in 3-4 years time.
MFC is likely to offer Scully a good price and 3 years and can afford to front load any contract as they don't have a lot of high paid veterans.
Scully's mananagement would know that if he stayed at MFC for another 3 years that he would be a better marketable proposition at 23/24 than if he overpriced himself at GWS and played with a basket case of a club
So forget the MFCSS, Scully will re-sign with MFC. It just makes sense (Oh, and its also the vibe of the thing)
As I understand it WYL, and I may have it wrong, but free-agency will only be available (if ever it comes in) to those players who have been at a club for a certain no. of years (don't recall the no. but at least 7).
So young players like Scully wouldn't be eligible for FA. They could still of course not renew their contracts at contract end and try to organise a trade with the club or take their chances in a Draft, but this is not FA.
Not really
Most likely he plays out the season at Casey.
At worst he gets (re)injured and doesn't play much
As for insurance, its a bit like saying Juice is insurance for Jurrah
No thanks
Sheesh guys, were supposed to be an inclusive club
By all means promote positive reasons for MCC members to take out MFC membership, but lets not turn into a nasty pizzing competition
We are better than that, surely
