  1. lots of skills on show. pinpoint passing, towering marks, lots of 9-point goals oh and lots of aggression that'll do for starters
  2. mcchins is just jealous we didn't want to poach him.........he'll get over it
  3. you can drop the strawman arguments too thomo
  4. You're not bearing up under the 'wait' are you Thomo. Calm down, you won't have to 'wait' much longer The best outcomes are worth a little extra 'wait' In 4 weeks if we have no FOJS (excl any fire-sale ones) then you can go to town on your soap-box
  5. Does Phat Phil have a brother? Just a thought
  6. yeah
  7. Looks like it must be true! It made the 3AW Rumour File this morninjg. Rumour is fact now. B)
  8. I couldn't help but notice the colours
  9. When looking at Chinese companies you should first look at Japanese and Korean companies Both Japanese and Korean companies showed they were on a fast rising quality path Does anyone remember the early Hondas and early Hyundai and Kias? Chinese companies are on similar fast track cycles. Todays 4-star chinese companies are tomorrows 5-star companies A bit like the MFC....eh? There's a nice synergy there. Oh, and the money's good too
  10. You are tilting at windmills. His son has already been recruited and has signed a 5 year contract with the mfc last year. You must have noticed? Anything left to do is mere formalities No conflict of interest here
  11. what makes you think its not till nextyear? the way I read it, it could be anytime in the future. when they do get one he will still report to Viney who will do the actual draft day selections no matter what
  12. hahaha, very appropriate, Jack
  13. prob a dumb question, but what if you have been on the list for 8 years but played < 8 years AFL (same with 10 years on list, played < 10)
  14. Nah, Phat Phil's got no 18 locked in tight
  15. or TAA?
  16. thats good. it explains one thing. We need only "activate" at start of season if WE intend to use pick in draft. Regardless we can still trade and trade recipient can use it that year even if we didn't "activate" however, unless i missed something, it didn't explain whether any new compo picks awarded to a club this year can be used in the draft this year with or without discounting (as was the case last year)
  17. I just hope the bummers spend all year bitching over it like we did
  18. hope it is not going to be calculated by mr duckworth
  19. If Hurley goes I don't think Essendung can use any compo pick till following year (or if they can at a big discount)
  20. One thing that is being overlooked by many is that the AFL has stated that the "compensation" picks were never intended to be "fair compensation" The difference between fair and what you get can be seen as your clubs contribution to the establishment of a new club (whether you like it or not) So....the compensation picks we got for voldemort were not necessarily meant to be enough for an adequate replacement If we scrape together a reasonable deal for our picks then great, but forget whether it is "fair" If Voldemort turns out to be less than a no1 draft pick then all the better for us If we can get a good topline midfield player for two compo picks then I will be "happy"
  21. When I saw this thread title I thought it was about Phil $cully
  22. I agree sniping players behind play is cheap and dirty and rarely accidental but not necessarily malicious (and then we get into a semantic argument on degrees of intent) Maybe conca didn't realise the other player was unsighted, i dunno Pushing, blocking, bumping etc go on all over the ground, Just watch the half fwd/half backline just before any centre bounce, but yes I agree it is mostly childish, unnecessary and poor sportsmanship. But given all that I thought conca unlucky to get 3 weeks just as trenners was unlucky getting 4 (meanwhile established stars at favored clubs can continue to eye gauge etc) pretty soon we'll either get to the stage where teams have more players suspended than injured or the game will morph into non-contact basketball Either way the supporters will get short changed
  23. its not fine, its just better than the previous one and that awful silver thing
  24. yeah, from the vision I saw Conca was dead unlucky. Looked like the sort of block you see many times all over the ground. Nothing malicious here
  25. leave the gags to the pros Rhino B)
