Our Forward entries (and there is always a lot of them) has always been Hack & Hope, this was mentioned on here in 2018, and the basic philosophy of it has always remained
In ‘21 we won the Flag because the Team was Super Fit and we were fortunate to get some good games out of Benny Brown running into September
Forward Craft has always been neglected under the Goodwin tenure
Doesn't even need to be elite kicking Sir Why. Converting at average AFL standard would paint a much different picture

It was very common practice for decades to rest ruckmen in the back pocket. The game has evolved so much obviously and there has never been more versatile and athletic rucks but it was a method that worked well.
You had to rest them somewhere. There was no interchange then.

Firstly, I'm still on board the Jeffo train although my seat is a lot closer to the door than yours.
Agree that not playing him at all this week was a mistake.
With regard to his 10 goals in two games, you should balance the numbers with a bit of context. The Preston team he played are abysmal at VFL level. Yet to win a game and are made up of chippies, sparkies & wannabe influencers. You probably played against better teams in the ammos.
The Sydney team are little better. To Jeffo's credit, he got his goals when the game was in the balance rather than the final quarter avalanche. Pleasingly, in both games he got goals through his tackling efforts, an area in which some have questioned him.
Personally I'd like to see Jeffo perform at a high level against some of the better, more mature VFL sides before rushing him back in. Get his confidence & belief up. Like it or not, he's still developing. Some take longer than others.
I'm pretty sure that it was @Axis of Bob who posted what I believe to be a fair and accurate summary of where Jeffo is at. I cbf finding it but if you can, have a read
Right here, right now, there's no way Jeffo could do Petty's role. Simply not mature enough

Warren. No.23.
Despite a shocking hook foot when kicking for goal , was a a ripper. Played his first season largely on the wing before moving to CHF.
Blew out a knee and never played AFL again despite being speculatively drafted by WCE a year or two later

I think Jesse still has a few fans on here. I stumbled across this and ended up watching the whole thing. Jesse's story in his own words. The first 40 minutes or so are around his time at Melbourne, everything he was going though & finally leaving for Freo. It's honest, raw and equally enlightening and bloody heartbreaking for his Dees fans. If the big fella still has a place in your affections, I recommend this highly.

Same when she left the Doggies. Some bridges burnt there as well.
@DeeSpencer marked her cards early in her career with the Dees. He was spot on.

Not getting the goals but competing hard and bringing the ball to ground
No way I would drop him to the Sub
No. No you are not. Petty's leading and running patterns, his ability to impact aerial contests and his capacity to make opposition defenders accountable make him comfortably our best KPF. His work contributes to the likes of Melksham, Kozzie and even Fritta being able to do their thing. We're close to having what looks like a functional forward structure and method. First time in years.
If JVR spends a few successful weeks at Casey and returns with form and confidence, I've no doubt he and Petty could be a formidable combination.
Good to see you looking at the game and not just the stats sheet @DubDee . Plenty don't.

Whiteboard Wednesday!! (aka the BS report) Salary cap breaches and Dees penalties!!! The Neeld appointment!!! Player upheaval!! MFC to Casey relocation!!! Just a few disasters during his tenure!!!
Given his parentage I'd have thought Schwab grew up a Tigers man.
He was in recruiting in his first stint with us. If I recall correctly some of his signings included Todd Viney, Earl Spalding and Warren Dean.
Perhaps he should have stuck to that

Interesting. I thought he was tracking really well as a young KPD. Until Robbie Tarrant left for Richmond and left him to lead the backline. McKay seemed to stagnate, if not regress from that point .
But I've not watched them as much as you

I’m confident I saw them then get around Chandler, although I might be mistaken.
Nah you’re spot on. The camera followed Trac who went to Max to acknowledge the handball. He then went to Chin who was already surrounded by team mates congratulating him.

He spent his early life in Wandin which was in Carlton's zone
Top player, all the same
Gun. And a player whose attributes I reckon would suit the modern game.
Back to the Bison. I heard a commentator last night refer to him as Baby Bont. Can't recall who or what show but he's being noticed

The Dominator played for Prahran which was in our zone I believe. Sheedy was another who played for Prahran and we might have knocked him back?
Later on, we knocked him back as a potential coach?
We didn't knock him back. He asked to be cleared to us but Jezza decided to have a look at him first. Then wisely decided to hang onto him and the rest is history

Trade Targets
in Melbourne Demons
Yep. 5 time MFC leading goalkicker. Equal with Fred Fanning. Only Neitz (7x) ahead of them.
Must be incredibly lucky 🙄
