Is there a method to the madness by Lamb ??? It seems we have been shafted by the Swans getting Grundy for pick 46 after we gave pick 27!for him  …. They also got JjJ & Adams from the pies for pick 33, & we lost harmes for pick  30 …what ever trades we do will name or break us & if no genuine fwd is gotten it will be another flopped trade to go along with the 22 draft

    [censored] you’re dumb

The Gawn/Grundy combo actually worked brilliantly in the pre season game at Casey and round 1 v Dogs  if anyone remembers that long back

He has to come in. No other choice.

Yep it's called every thread and saying I am hearing ?????.

Then when that poster is pulled up on it by another poster who heard or read it elsewhere.

Said poster responds with, I don't read that site/paper or I didn't hear that interview I'm just passing on what I have heard

Exactly. Most people on here talk more [censored] than the Werribee Sewage Farm.
99.99% of people on here have No idea and just like the sound of their own voices.

I would've thought this should be a simple swap for 25 which seems a big steal since that pick will become about 35-40 with all the academy and free agency picks. There was talk yesterday on trade radio about north being interested in Brayshaw. I'd maybe look at Brayshaw + 25 for Brown + 11, and then on trade 11 + Tmac for Treloar + Phillips.

No, you’re wrong. There was no talk. SOS thought of a possible trade that could include Gus. He stated that he had no knowledge of North being interested in Gus, it was just his opinion.

    This is how rumours start.

Really don't understand the fuss over Jackson, we have the best ruckman in the comp and a guy who is putting in the hard yards this preseason to give him a chop out and play forward (preuss), we should take best available with picks 3 and 10 I'd go with Flanders and one of Serong or Stephens, the have a look whos available at p28, develop the midfield and forwards and we maybe able pick up a ruckman late in the draft this year or next. Big chance Jackson will want to go back home after his done his apprenticeship under Max in a few years

Gary Buckenara has Jackson at 18 and Pickett at 35. I’m good with Jackson at 3 but not convinced with Pickett at 11.

The most talented player in the draft???

Well go get him! BUT I think he is light years away from that!

You simply cannot waste a pick on someone who cannot kick

Our team is full of them!!!

    Mystifying!!??

This is what people don’t understand. We don’t need players from this years draft to make an immediate impact next year. We need the players who we traded for to make the immediate impact in 2020, along with improvement from our current stars. Nothing wrong with looking at the bigger picture with Jackson as our next star ruckman. There are 100 Youngs, he’s only a half back flanker. Let’s get some X factor.

We need to start looking at the bigger picture.

this interpretation is doubtful and needs afl clarification.

i think the parking rule is where the shift out then back occurs all during the draft. not sure it applies across trade and draft periods.

It does apply. This is 100% fact.

A bid is going to come for Henry before 22, so Freo will lose this pick regardless. Makes sense they use it to move up 2 spots. They get a better selection and remove the risk of a bid coming before 10. To me it seems a no brainer, I'm surprised the media haven't suggested it as an option more?

Where are the rumours you're hearing coming from?

That trade cannot happen. Freo is unable to trade pick 22 back to Melbourne as it was our original pick. (Ed Langdon).AFL rule.

Pity you’ve missed the last decade. In that period, we’ve won 3 flags, made another grand final, and featured in 2 prelims. Missed the 8 only once - bad draw, and horrible run with injuries.

We’ve played truly dynamic football for most of this time. It was quite an incredible 11year period. Without doubt, we’ve been the envy of the competition - other club officials and supporters have been praying for us to collapse on the basis of our remarkable success.

And yet, some here don’t seem to think we a lock for the top 4 in 2020 ...

Wow that’s awesome!! How many brownlows have our number 1&2 picks, Scully & Trengove won between them? So happy we didn’t select that good for nothing Dustin Martin kid hey...

Is Cale Morton and that All Australian CHF Lucas Cook kid still playing??

11 years between posts, that has to be some sort of record?! I also thought it was a massive risk when the situation was initially reported, I did some thinking and now think it’s a relatively low risk, there’s 44 players on a list and we’ve already delisted a number of injury prone ones. I’m happy we’re looking at doing something un-Melbourne like.

Glad you’ve noticed. I’ve just been a little busy...

  11. Melbourne sign Frawley, Garland, Jones, Petterd, Bate and Newton.

I thought Juice might only get one year, but the coaching staff are showing a lot of faith in him. I'm glad they've done. The calls around here for him to be delisted were ridiculous. Let's hope he can repay that faith Bails is showing in him. He has the ability to do it.

Great news on the other 5 signings too.

Now why would we sign Newton?

  12. All we can ask of someone who officiates at the highest level is for some consistency of interpretation. This was completely lacking form McLaren in the Melbourne v North Melbourne game.

A better umpire would have been able to control this game a lot better. He should join Goldspink in the retirement village.

Wishing death on a person is not the way to go about it.. No doubt his umpiring, for many years now has been below par and the AFL should moniter his games with interest. His a maggot and should hang up the whistle for at seasons end.

  13. "Ruck tyro Robert Warnock is likely to command a new contract worth almost $1 million over three years if he elects to stay at Fremantle." from the West Australian Freo will pay $1m to keep Warnock

    Also -

"Speculation Warnock would leave was rampant earlier in the season when he played just two matches in the first half of the year and was in inconsistent form in the WAFL after pre-season price tags put his value at as much as $500,000 per year.

But it is believed his stocks at the club and his interest in staying have risen in recent weeks since his return to AFL ranks.

'Six weeks ago it seemed he was definitely leaving. Now he is considering it,' a Melbourne-based football industry source said yesterday."

I've seen all his games this year.. and guess what? HIS NOT THAT FRICKEN GOOD!!! He fumbles the ball, doesn't take a strong mark, and his diposal very average. He can stick his $1m up his arse as far as i'm concerned. And if people think his going to be our answer to 10 years of rucking.. boy you got another thing coming!! He'll be another Meesen.

  14. How does everyone see the crop of youngsters coming through. This is based on everything, but ultimately where you think they will end up at the end of their careers (hunches are a justifiable reason)

    Below are the options:

Petterd, Frawley, Garland, Martin, Wonaeamirri, C.Morton, Jones, Buckley, Bartram, Bate, Dunn, Newton, Bode.

    1. Morton- class act

    2. Bate- bit inconsistant, but a future leader

    3. Garland- thought he was a dud.. but has improved and stood up out of sight

    4. Wonaeamirri- Freak

    5. Jones- shocking diposal. Turnover king

    6. Bartram- fairy

    7. Martin- shows courage

    8. Petterd- got guts, but not sure yet

    9. Buckley- takes them on.. but sometimes too much

    10.Dunn- Or is it Dud?

    11. Frawley-Hasn't got it

    =13 Newton, Bode- Pathetic

  15. My point is that fumbling the football under pressure is genetic .

People respond differently to pressure , and perhaps the Mortons don't have a genetic propensity to coping well with it .

How many AFL games you played joeboy? THE KIDS 18!! Give him a few years.. his got class written all over him.
