Who do you want to see blooded or in the side by seasons end?
Redleg replied to Hells Gates's topic in Melbourne Demons
Couch was poor on saturday. If not for a free kick and goal, I would not have known he was out there. I am sure he can do much better, but he seems way behind Magner who is just a battler. -

Me too. I hope we keep him. I feel I put the moz on him when I selected him as one of my big improvers this year. I just think he can really play. -
The same thing that makes one vacuum cleaner better than the next, the bullsh-t that the salesman spews.

Looks like the thread will remain as is, especially as we don't mention the person who is central to at least 6 new threads recently and continues to be mentioned in several other threads. If for some other reason there is the need to change the name, I am happy to just delete the reference to "NO T$" and simply remain as the "NO B$" thread. Long may the thread continue and provide something a little different for Demonlanders.

Why can't we try Bennell as a spread mid who can be given the ball and take off. He can do that from wing or in the middle. We need to inject clearance pace to improve our forward entries.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Redleg replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not me. Completetly different. -
I think you can guarantee that we will draft players who are hard, both mentally and physically. No matter what other characteristics are sought, these will be non negotiable.
-
Though not in first seasons, add Bartram.

Footy has certainly changed. Sledging about family gets you suspended. I was told in many amateur games I played, by my opponent, that he had f...d my sister. It didn't worry me too much, mainly becuase I haven't got a sister. Players today need to be very careful what they say both on and off the field.
-
Would you believe anything, somebody says about something?
-
And probably a few more I have forgotten.
-
On another note , it never fails to amaze me how often we draft a player and then he is out for most of his first or second season. Just some examples recently Taggart, Gawn, Evans, Gysberts, Tapscott, Cook, Jurrah, Fitzpatrick, Spencer, Tynan etc.

This worries me if it is true. If true I would adopt the Eddie approach and make a quiet phone call to GWS reminding them that Patton was a MFC supporter and that as a family club, how concerned the MFC is that he is separated from his mother and sister and that it is incumbent on us to help him get back to his family. A huge pay packet would also help the family with any financial issues and of course, we would advise that there is a job open to his mother and sister at the MFC, as they are widely regarded as being among Australia's leading membership assistants and a salary of $100000.00 each could be available over say 6 years. If he was not interested in coming home, we could advise that we would find out who is and offer them a suitable package for themselves and their family. We really are the family club.

If it helps, I can start a discussion about which other fruit the players like. I believe Watts likes cherries.

You have won me. I am with you 100%.
-
Not if we can do a couple of deals. Still think 16th spot is more likely. We are now 4 wins and percentage behind Roos and either Dogs or Port. Another win to Lions and loser of Dogs and Port will mean we will need to win 5 more to go up a spot. Don't think that will happen.

Matt Rendell on AFL site saying SA ruckman Brodie Grundy is a ready made AFL player. Wonder if we would consider drafting a ruckman with an early pick say our 3rd pick and clearing say a Spencer and maybe Petterd to GC to get a mid like Caddy and a promise not to name JV. We would still have 2 early picks to use on mids. That would give us 4 new mids and we could use a later pick to get a small forward. Draft hope 'a match-winner'

Funny, I just read four other threads where he is the main talking point and the one thread you want to close down is the highest viewed one on Demonland ever, with the most replies and he isn't even mentioned. Oh well, it is your site.
-
I don't.
-
You have missed the point, this is exactly the opposite. This is not a thread about discussion of T$ but rather anything but. Therefore there is no need to close it down. At the very worst we could change the name to delete his initials, but to close down the thread is unnecessary. We can just change the name to the "no B$" thread.

Heard a vicious rumour the other day that Whispering Jack is going to close down this thread after the GWS game next week. Talk about stifling Democracy and Freedom of Speech. This thread has been one of the most widely viewed ( over 70000 so far ) and heavily contributed to ( over 2000 posts so far ) threads in the history of Demonland. I suggest we threaten to dump a truck load of banana skins on his driveway if he goes ahead with his threat. We will not be censored.

They will not be easybeats.
-
You wouldn't like lattes then.
-
Easier to do against them, as for example Bombers will be later in the first round and Daniher is meant to be a high pick. Therefore a few clubs ahead of Bombers would be prepared to nominate and take him. Bombers however, will do very well getting a player much later than his pick would be if he wasn't father/son. That won't be full price. We on the other hand could be forced to use a pick much higher than would be needed if he wasn't a father/son selection.

Next you will tell me you are a real man and you eat it in a dirty cup.
