  1. I would happily watch her on sunday for a couple of hours rather than our football team.
  2. If one stands back and looks at what is happening, then I fully understand this post and probably agree with it. I am all for giving a guy a fair go, but that would depend totally on whether he still has the support of the players. I fear he hasn't. I don't care what they say publicly, I just wish I knew what they say and think privately. The way we are playing you could mount a strong case to say he has lost them. I have supported the Coach until now but I am getting fearful of what might come next. You don't need talent to do the 1%'s, you need effort. We are not giving any. To me it looks like some players have had enough of the coach and they are just going through the motions. What would we give to see the effort of Puopolo chasing down 3 players in one sustained effort like he did last week. Won't happen with us. He is deperate and we are not. He is selfless and we are not. He would run through a brick wall for his coach and team mates, how many of our players would get close to that mindset. Lucky for me this won't be my decision, but I think our new CEO will have to act soon, or I fear we will be in tatters, with our our few good players wanting to leave. They are certainly playing like that. I would love to be proved wrong but I don't think it will happen. PS. Look at how the Port players are responding to Hinkley. Many of them were there under the previous Coach. What is different, the Coach.
  3. This is going to be a tough sunday. Invited to sit in a Carlton box and will probably witness a 20 goal thrashing and BOG for Brock.
  4. I think he has just sacked the tea lady.
  5. It is pathetic that the MFC have killed off any interest in this season for most of us, within a couple of games.
  6. Pity the bombers didn't listen to his song Return to Sender, may have saved them some heartache, if they sent the stuff back, rather than injecting it into unsuspecting footballers.
  7. You know I don't want to be the bearer of more bad news, but Elvis died of a heart attack, due to his obese condition, contributed to by his constant eating of fried banana sandwiches. I hope your sandwich, or the banana wasn't fried.
  8. Agree, but the problem is none of us knows the true position.
  9. The way things are going, if I had every ticket in the raffle, I still wouldn't win.
  10. Old and getting older very quickly supporting this club.
  11. It will be hard to go when a 20 goal thrashing is on the cards.
  12. Ah the memories. I remember going to games when we thought we had a chance.
  13. For God's sake get off Watt's back. He kicked two goals when moved forward with crap supply. He backed back to take a mark and did, early and got clobbered. He is the only bloke in the side, besides Davey, who can actually pass it to a team mate. We are incapable of passing the ball by foot or hand and this makes at least 5 years I have been banging on about it. When we turn it over the overlap is usually a goal. We also have no midfield. We zone and leave opposition players free and it is killing us.
  14. No local holiday and back home. Scoop Junior will be at the game. As for Mifsud, given it was an appalling breach and that he should have been sacked, would you say that is poor corporate governance by the AFL?
  15. Great read in the Age footy section on the Dees today people. See the discussion on the Age Drug Article thread. Certainly paints the MFC in a much better light and pots the AFL at the same time.
  16. RR I am on holidays using a computer on restricted use.I recall the press conference where Mifsud appeared and apologised to Neeld and the MFC, for calling Neeld a racist and nothing was offered by the AFL. Do you recall it in any different way than I do? I am sure you could find a link if you search back through Mifsud apology to MFC/Neeld. It was about mid year or slightly earlier last year. Found one - Davey, Mifsud reconcile
  17. McLardy may also be a better poker player than he is given credit for.We accept the tanking result. Why, when we had them cold according to the AFL's and our legal advice. We sack our CEO the day after we say there will be no sackings. Why? We instal the AFL preferred man as interim CEO, when we had our own interim CEO. Why? We don't bash the AFL over this latest scandal, even though we have again been pilloried in the press and our brand damaged. Why? The answer to the why's, could well be that Don is happy with the cards he is being given, at each step by the AFL. There is such a thing as future grants, good draws, priority picks, assistance with sponsorships etc, etc, etc.
  18. Don't hold your breath. When the AFL official Mifsud admitted he lied when he called our Coach a racist, he apologised when he was caught and that was it. There was nothing from the AFL top brass. Who knows what the damge was to our club and coach. Clearly the AFL couldn't give a rat's tossbag. The we get done $500k in a farce as the whole footy world agrees. Corporate Governance my arse.
  19. Do we actually know if any MFC player took anything? As to JT my recollection is that the discussion was based around a cream, for his foot, not something ingested, does that make a difference?
  20. That's a bit nasty WJ. I think they would know how to spell " banjos".
  21. Wow. That truly is a hard read. Imagine living it. All the very best to Rick, Jordan and the whole family.
