  1. Good players aren't pushed out of clubs unless there is a good reason. Bevo of all Coaches, is the protector of his men, yet he has clearly lost it with Jake. If you read some of the comments of his team mates, they have as well. He is obviously a big problem. We don't need more big problems.
  2. And Pendles, Gaff, Prestia and Shuey, just to name a few, were Demon supporters. It means nothing.
  3. Not sure the interest is there so I will start at this stage with a countdown in months, 2
  4. Looks to be a very busy trading season this year.
  5. Interesting that you say, in watching the finals games you saw the gap between the Cats and Tigers and others including us. Well I thought the Cats were terrible and the Tigers aside from Dusty were not much better. The Tigers just had a Dusty burst of brilliance after the scores were levelled late in the third and they then ran away from a demoralized opponent. We were beating both of them when we played them during the year, while both were at full strength and we weren't and then we suffered injuries during the game that gifted the wins to them. I don't see the obvious gap, between us and them. I do see the gap between us and the Crows, Swans and Giants though.
  6. Yep. Tigers had a full side. If we had: Kent VDB Joel Smith Tim Smith Garland White and guys like Pedo who played a lot for Casey early, plus Gus not going off early, it may have been a bit different.
  7. Sarcasm meter not working mo? I was joking, showing how even with a sh-t side we were 5 goals up on the Tigers and two players were off early, our replacement ruck and replacement forward. We only lost to them because we ran out of legs as you would expect.
  8. Don't discount the manic pressure of the Tigers yesterday, that we also showed in the first 15 or so rounds of the season. They have had no injuries and no disrupted season unlike us, who lurched from mini crisis to mini crisis. Remember the score when we played them earlier in the year at 3/4 time, we were 5 goals ahead and Tim Smith and Jake Spencer our star key forward and key ruckman were both off the ground by quarter time. Yes they ran over us in the last quarter, but without those two stars going off early we would have beaten them. We also had a similar story against the Cats and thrashed the Crows and Port and beat WC in Perth. What am I getting at, well we are not a bad side but we were cruelled with injuries and suspensions to our better players. I agree we would be better with Lever and Gaff, but I think we have another problem. We have lost form in the last third of every season under Misson, is their a correlation to his portfolio and our poor form late in the year? BTW I am not blaming him for that first quarter against the Pies, but we have got players back and still played badly late in the season. Why?
  9. Oliver is however already our best extractor of the ball. He is best left to that with some more emphasis on kicking when he can. Trac is one who could play like Martin as he has the physical attributes and is able to do the extraordinary. We clearly need outside run to complement Viney, Oliver and Jones. I thought Billy might be one but he had a poor year. Next season will be critical for him. The Tigers won yesterday with manic pressure, just like the way the Coach played, hard and tough at the man. The Cats were harassed out of their game. Even Danger kept kicking it out on the full and went at 45% efficiency, a record low for him. Add some Tigers pace, a couple of good new mids in Prestia and Caddy and the runaway Brownlow medallist setting them up for goal after goal when the Cats made a comeback and you have the easy win. If we had a sceric of the Tigers' pressure in the first quarter against the Pies, we would be playing Port tonight.
  10. Not really, but I have often thought I would kill at lawn bowls, because I was a brilliant carpet bowler.
  11. Afraid you are right. Things are going well for Tigers. No injuries and with seniors playing last night, means they have the entire rest of the list to use today. Unfortunately I see Casey going out in straight sets. Would love to be wrong however. Had my first bet in about 15 years on the biggest certainty I can recall in footy, WC to beat Crows in last round. A mate of mine who was on the field during the game said you could see that the Crows just didn't care. Anyway we threw it away and no point hoping for others to get us in finals. Just got to get the wins in future.
  12. I wonder if we would even have this thread, if our idiot recruiting manager Prendergast, had taken Talia as everybody expected, instead of Jordan Gysberts, in a mind boggling, stupid pick, of Cook and Toumpas proportions. ( Yes I know he didn't pick Toumpas ). Oh and BTW, I am positive if he had, we could guarantee that we would have played finals this year, as he would have stopped at least two goals, that we allowed this season, if not have won us a close game outright. Thanks Barry, you butchered this club.
  13. No you pay them out and try and find a player who can make your best 22.
  14. I have joined BSA. Banana smoothies anonymous. Hopefully I can stay on the wagon for a while and keep losing those banana kilos. Was nearly sent into apoplectic shock when I saw that skinhead number 9 for the Giants on tv last night.
  15. Wow, ahead of Whitfield and on a par with Martin. Should be only a couple of minutes until he is offered $10m from North.
  16. Do you like him.? What is your opinion, do you think we should try and get him? Do you think he would be in our best 22? Do you think we could let Garland go if we got Lever? Do you think he would wear number 6 if he came to us?
  17. We should "stamp" that BS out.
  18. He won't go to Saints.
  19. They might not deserve more top picks, but we are talking about them possibly losing a player one club has offered $10.5m to. He is one of the best in the AFL and wouldn't go cheap. So and my mail is he will stay for 2 more years, if GWS lost him they would deserve a good deal.
  20. This might make sense to you. He was not in our best 22 before he did his ACL. Now a year older and not having played for a year, coming back from a reco, he will probably not be best 22 again. By freeing up his spot on the list, we have a chance of finding a 10-12 year player. You don't keep players on your list just to play at Casey.
  21. That would be a sensational summer for us. 2 of them would be great as well.
  22. Think he and his wife have separated. His loss of form seems to have coincided with this.
  23. Actually thought some of Jack's best games were when he had to help out in the ruck and ran himself into the ground. While initially I wanted to protect him and keep him away from the ruck, both he and Pedo played some great games while Max was out and they filled in in the ruck. It gave us more mobility around the ground and a bit more unpredictability. Maybe that is a good option for Jack, spending some time in the ruck and then becoming another mid who can drift forward and kick a goal or help set one up.
  24. Leave the comedy to BBO.
