  1. Those 2 marks today should put to bed some misguided thoughts that Green is soft. He clearly goes when it is his turn. Top game, I would like to see a few more of those...
  2. Your a freak!!! Good luck to Brock....I will watch a game just to see how he goes!!! Cant wait till he is the cap of MFC
  3. Okay so I didnt listen in science, lets just pretend I said chlorofluorocarbons....
  4. Your post would have been better if you didnt mention it. You dont need to do that to show YM up as a fool. You may have done some studies, but my point is that you have no greater knowledge of the players actual injuries than the rest of us and what is published in the papers is not always correct. You cant make an assement on what you dont actually know. What I know is that we have a lot of players out missing games and this has had a significant impact on what should have been a competitive season. To simply put it all down to bad luck would be foolish.
  5. Your example has no relevance. I realise your sarcasm, but eye colour would not generally have an impact on a players conditioning and rate of injury (ask Bobbie, he has a background in body mecanics ). However the person responsible for it, it would be fair to say, does. You know if there was a significant increase in carbon dioxide emmissions over a period of time and over that same period the hole in the ozone layer got bigger, you would be right in that we could not definitavly say the increased carbon dioxide was the cause simply because of the correlation. But I would also be right in saying it may be of some cause for concern and warrent some further investigation.
  6. Thanks Rogue for the list. I was aware of this. No one is responsible for what they did not do, however it amazes me how dismissive people can be. Do we think that because some of our players have had injuries in the past we should expect them to continue to suffer injuries? Or would the club benifit from systems and training methods that are able to reduce the likelyhood of reoccurance and have our best players fit and playing football? Would we like the football department to say it was just bad luck that we lost our last 3 close matches? Or look into strategies to increase our chances of success. I just think that on the surface, it would appear, that we are suffering from a higher than usual number of soft tissue injuries. I dont know why this is so and im sure the club doesnt either right now. So we cant say its BB's fault, but as he is responsible for players conditioning, it does make him a suspect. And I would be disapointed if the club does not look into what has had a significant impact on our season.
  7. Did I make a rash assumption or did you make a rash statement? You asked YM if he had a background in body mechanics to support his claim to be 100% correct. And then claimed that you did. By doing so you inffered your knowledge of all injuries by baising you claim to be 100% correct as this would be a requirement. I may have played your statement up a little but I think its fair to say you attempted to portray yourself as some authority on the subject. I'm not sure that, as a PE Teacher, you would have any greater insight than the rest of us. A greater insight would require a knowledge of each individual injury and the capacity to holistically analyse all the injuries to draw conclusions. Im not sure you have this. I know I dont, but I would hope that at seasons end the club asks someone that does.
  8. Thats just laughable!!! Now you have a complete knowledge of the injuries that have occured at the club this year, and through your "background" in body mechanics, you have determined you view to be 100% correct.
  9. Whilst I think YM is for the most part stupid or at least cavalier, I dont think the general concept of this thread is. We have been hit by a number of structural injuries (Neitz, Robbo, McLean, Bartram), which is bad luck. Fair enough. However, without doing any research, it would appear, on the surface anyway, that we are experiencing a higher than usual number of soft tissue injuries. Green, Yze, Whelan, Bate, Moloney, Rivers, Petterd, Jamar, Sylvia, McLean, Pickett and Brown have all, at some stage, fallen victim this year. A fair list and thats only the ones I can remember. There could be a number of reasons for this, low rainfall making the grounds harder, fewer bench rotations available due to players injured during matches or your only suggested explanation - bad luck. However, I think it is at least plausible, that our new training regime, may have had some influence as it directly realtes to players conditioning. I would be dissapointed if the football department didnt measure the occurence of injuries (and in particular soft tissue) in some way as part of our conditioning coaches perfomance appraisal. If they did, at this stage, in comparison to other clubs or pervious years, we would not appear to be one of the top performers. It would be a little naive to think a team like Sydney has simply been lucky not to experience a higher injury toll. Or that the ability to put your best players out on the park each week has a direct result to performance. Its true you can never prevent an injury form ever occuring but I think you can at least reduce its likelyhood. I agree, that all roads do not lead to BB and that he is not solely responsible for our bad season. I also agree that further analysis into how and why we have had so many injured players is required and that as outside observers we do not know the facts. But it would be ignorant to say that all this is rubbish, put it all down to bad luck and not consider it at least worthy of further investigation.
  10. I think it would be fair to say we were unlucky at first with a few structural injuries...but I cant for some time remember having so many soft tissue injuries at the club. There was a lot of discussion about BB early on, but in his defence we had injuries that could not relally be blamed on him (Robbo, Neitz, Brock, Barts). However as the season roles on, the soft tissue injury toll is starting to mount. Bate, Whelan, Rivers, Sylvia, Petterd, Jamar, Moloney, Green and Yze are all victims. Whilst we know Slyvia and Moloney have had pre existing conditions (although Slys hamsting isnt) guys like Green and Yze are good examples of players who never have them but have this year. I dont think we can put everything that has happened this year down to bad luck. We trimed down to become a more running side to play the run and carry game plan. I wonder if being so trim, our condition is gone to the point that the players break down easily. This may not be so bad if we really gained an advantage in our fitness and speed but appart from yesterday we have yet to really run over the top of teams. I think the gameplan and the fitness program to go with it has been a mistake. I think greater focus should be placed on conditioning so the players can get through a whole year without breaking down. You only need to look at the Swans to see that being able to put your best players out on the park each week will go a long way to getting you a flag.
  11. I am thinking (hoping) ND is playing games. McLean will come in for Miller.
  12. Not enough thats for sure, but I am specifically talking about CJ. I guess 'it' could mean many things, I just think he has all the physical attributes, but there is something stoping him from taking the next step. Be it confidence, desire, I dont know but I hope its addressed because he could be a very good player.
  13. CJ is an interesting one...he has all the tools but I just dont know if he has "it". I am not sure why we brought in so many talls but I think our bench is way to top heavy.
  14. Whelan is a big out...esp with the roos small forwards doing quite well this year...
  15. No he works with models...he is a taylor...
  16. Doesnt change the result....they would have won by 1 point instead of 6. It did look close though.
  17. Hayse??? Please dont let it be Byron....But if this is true, he would seem to fit the bill...
  18. I think the first thing is that if Neitz is back then Jamar has to go. Has offered little over the last few weeks. Done okay in the ruck at times but just not enough around the ground. Was need as a tall option in the absence of Neitz but if he is back then will not be needed with PJ slowly on the up (at least he offers something around the ground). Good for Garland to get a taste but I think it could be Newtons turn this week after a strong performance for Sandy. I hope Green is back this week because he will be needed to replace Bate (is there any offical word on Bates injury?). Davey Neitz Dunn Pickett Miller Yze Johnston Moloney Green Bizzle Rivers Petterd PJ Carroll Bell White JMac Bruce Sylvia Newton Godfrey The last spot can be any one of CJ, Brown or Bizzel. CJ has the better skills but the other 2 have the better endevour. My pref would be Biz.
  19. Thats still on the high side...
  20. PJ doesnt rely on his marking and is good at ground level, so you would say he is a good big man to have in the wet. I would leave out the Russian if anyone, I just dont think he offers enough around the ground and if it was wet, it would be reduced even further. Sandilands just poses to be a real problem...
  21. I recon Neil Craig has a little something to do with it. I rate him highly. He hasnt quite got it right in September, but he does know how to get the most out of what hes got and follow through with a good team plan.
  22. And I wonder if Rivers will actually play also.... Looks like Sly didnt come up
  23. I am no lawyer either but given that the AFL Players Code of Conduct outlines that ALF players aspire to the highest standards of sportsmanship and professional conduct...and must conduct themselves in a manner so as not to bring Australian Rules Football, the AFL, AFL clubs and other AFL players into disrepute it is plausible that he has a case to answer and that under his employment contract he may not have had the "right" to behave in the manner that has been suggested. At the end of the day, for me, this is not end of the world stuff. I am however a little bemused by the vigour with which you defend a persons right to make sexually explicit remarks about a 6 year old girl but each to their own. I dont believe this sort of conduct adds anything to our game or its image and should not be acceptable. But thats just me.
  24. Bob, you seem like a smart man so surely you can understand that everything isnt always as black and white (no pun intended) as you like to beleive. To suggest that we outlaw communicication is neither constructive or sensible, although I know it was said in jest. Players just need to apply sound judgement and be accountable where they dont. If you compair your example of a threat to wack someone with Selwoods actions they are miles apart. One is intimadating and I believe part of the game. The other is derogatory and adds no value to football. You dont need to live in a bubble to expect that sexually explicit remarks will not be made about your daughter.
  25. I thought that was only done in U/14s after half time...
