Anyone been keeping tabs on the big 3?

Kerr has issues on and off the field...has a bad record at the tribunal, any time he goes up he will get a long holiday... The risk is greater than the return IMO...
-
Rivers value would be below his worth due to injury. The one we may actually get something for is Frawley....young key defender still with upside....it would have to be a good pick though... I would hate to let him go as he has potential, but has been overtaken by the likes of Warnock, Martin and Garland...with Rivers coming back next year he may just be surplus and of some decent value to another team....remember you have to give up something good to get something good...

West Coast rest Kerr again!!! AND I WON $530...
s-t-i-n-g-a replied to Jack7's topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolutley...What Geelong did about Johnson paid big dividends for the club and the individual...they won a flag and he won a NormSmith...Carlton on the other hand show a much weaker culture. I know which track I want the Dees to take... But im sure there are a few out there that dont mind that this makes it harder for us to win the game...much the same as what is being said about WC and Woosha.. -
No way I could be reading too much into it (and I would be pleased if that is the case) but it would appear the club is specifically concerned about this for Jack, as opposed to the general soreness most players get. I just found it interesting they would write that. I had stress fractures in my back also at the same age and had to take a year off. I got over it but things never quite felt the same, and it still gives me problems to this day 10 years latter. However I never had the same access to expert sports medical treatment he does or did all the rehad I was supposed to. He appears to have the ability to play AFL, I just hope he has the body.

much the same as us re Davey... -
That is good considering last time he played on him in the AFL, he got a bath....Jones is down on form but this will do well for Frawls confidence. Sounds like Grimes can play...really happy about what is being reported. What concerns me though is "He still needs to adapt to playing football and recovering effectively so that he doesn’t get sore" Does that mean he has pulled up sore? I hope we can see the best of this one...

I am looking forward to some of the match ups... Dunn/Aka or Cooney Bruce/Johnson But one I am really hoping to see is Garland/Murphy

Didn't he sign like a 5 year contract a couple of years ago?

Ditto.... thanks PG...

I wonder how available J Brown is and how much longer his body will produce good footy? I would say he is about 98% sure to stay in Brisbane so this may be pointless but I will indulge anyway. Another factor is how much would it cost to get him? Assuming we get the no. 1 pick there is no way we would let that go. But would they take an offer like Bruce, Petterd and pick 17? Might not be enough. With the emergence of Garland and Warnock and if Rivers can get his body right for next year we could be a covered for tall backs for the first time in a long time. Not to mention Carroll, Frawley and Martin all waiting in the wings. With Whelan getting on and poor form of Bell and Bartram I am a little concerned about our small backman stocks. Though I hope Grimes and Cheeny will go some way to addressing this. But they are an unknown and this is an area of concern. Lets hope CJ can come on a bit. Despite a lack of pace our midfield is going ok. I know Morton will develop but I am thinking for the sake of team balance Palmer would have been just the player we are crying out for. But we cant dwell on that. Davey adds that pace and if Buckley can develop his game to improve his defence we will be ok there. With White aging, Nick Nat will be a fantastic addition, should we get the no 1 pick and should start to come on by the time White retires. I think PJ is quite a handy no 2 and who knows how Meeson will turn out (though I dont have high hopes). Jamar is a handy back up. Clearly our forward line will miss big Neita and J Brown would be an awsome pick up with the main query being his age and will he be playing A grade football when our side matures? But should all this pann out I dont think the side below will be too bad: Whelan Warnock Rivers Wheatly Garland Grimes Green McLean Davey Sylvia Miller Bate Wonna Brown Robbo White Jones Moloney Neita Morton Buckley Dunn

Thommo has been on fire...kicked 6 today. So are people saying he is better than his father? and speaking of father/son. Out of interest how are G Lyons boys going?
-
How are Gary Lyons sons going?

The priority picks, designed to assit rebuilding clubs should not (particularly in the case of a first round pick) face this age restriction. Yes the new clubs need assistance, but so do the rebuilding clubs. I hope the MFC make this case!
-
Hate to nit pick cause I get what your saying, but Freo lost dude...
-
Could that mean he is playing agaisnt the Cats? Although he wasnt in the emerg's?

How tall is Cale Morton? Look at this pic

Does anyone remember (I think it was 98) when we would just run right over the top of teams in the last quater. There was a time when no matter how far behind, we were always a chance to pile on the goals in no time and get up. Made for exceptional viewing....
