  1. I would have thought the comments of both Libba and Fev went a lot further than those of Brock.
  2. The odds of someone posting about Angus on this thread are getting slimmer...
  3. It's a pity we don't still have Sylvia. He was a handy back up ruck at times
  4. With Frost and Lumumba coming onto the list it's clear there may be some changes to our back six. We were defensively sound but the lack of rebound was obvious and no doubt why we no have Lumumba. With Jetta now taking the best small and Dunn, Frost and McDonald taking the talls and Grimes able to take the next best small or medium forward or resting mid the needs for garlands defensive ability is diminished and can be replace with Lunumba to provide more dash. He is way too good to be left out. I would like to see him play this year as a defensive forward. He has been thrown up there at times over the last couple if years and been handy. He is a smart player and kick a goal. But I could see him locking down on the oppositions most dangerous rebounder. You could see him taking a suckling or malceski right out if the game. I couldn't see any if the other back six from last year like Grimes being a capable forward for when we do have the ball in the way garland could be. I also think Kent will be ready to take the next step onto the Wing. And think Vince plays his best in the middle rather than on the wing. This would be my side Garlett Fitzy Hogan Garland Pederson Howe Watts Jones Kent Lumumba McDonald Grimes Jetta Dunn Frost Jamar Tyson Vince Viney Cross Salem JKH or Toump
  5. If Salem was our second choice I wonder who our first was?
  6. Nothing wrong with a young bloke having a bit of attitude. I like what we get from Hogan and Viney for example, but Petracca's just seems to come from a different place. In any case my main concern is that I feel he lacks the smarts and polish if such a high pick. But I realise I don't have all the information. It's just the vibe of it...
  7. I think Petracca lacks polish and smarts for such a high pick. He also seems a bit too cocky. I don't know but I get a bit of the Sylvia's about this bloke.
  8. If nothing else he could be a handy spare down back.
  9. What if you increased his wage for the year? Would be cheaper than paying someone out their entire contract?
  10. Your right I was being factious. I did wish him luck and meant that (at least in a general sense). I agree that the change he is undertaking will need to go further than the colour of his jumper.
  11. Hi Sam, Good luck at Geelong. Break a leg...
  12. I'm sure the odd tackle gets laid and some players would be more inclined to do it than others but I see your point. I guess I am wondering if he might be the next Sam Blease or a more complete player.
  13. Anyone know what he is like defensively? Does he tackle well? Run both ways?
  14. Just getting back to Laverde for a moment... One thing I didn't notice was any defensive pressure. He looks exciting but he will need to run two ways in the big league as Sam Blease has just found out. Anyone know if this is an issue for him?
  15. It's a pity chip left us. McDonald would feel at home with those three around.
  16. I suspect Directors at the EFC have dirt on their hands. I can't see how else to explain their behaviour and in particular their support of Hird over this period.
  17. I don't think the AFLPA has represented it's clients and their interests very well in this matter.
  18. At least if he gets drafted by us Angus won't have to moove away.
  19. Lewis Jetta and Isaac Smith have both played in and won grand finals with bodies not dissimilar to what Billy will have at the same age.
  20. I understand that. I also conceded the Roos appear to be satisfied with with the Pies offer. But if he is the best mid on the move and all our other plans have fallen through the club may try to muscle in just as the Dogs may try to do with Frost. We have the better pick and could offer more cash. I guess there is the bit about us being rubbish though so he may not be interested but nothing is final until the paperwork goes through.
  21. You would think pick 23 trumps pick 25 for Greenwood and we would have more cash and opportunity to sell to him. If he's the best mid on the move we should be having a go. My only hope is that we might be waiting for the Lumumba deal to go through first and then we pounce. But it seems it's all part of one big deal that will go through at the same time so we may miss out. I think if we could land Greenwood, in addition to Lumumba, Garlett and Frost and taking picks 2 & 3 to the draft, most would call that a win and we would have improved our list.
