You can say that again! -
Phil Scully offered GWS gig in November 2010!

Adrian Anderson was also just on SEN and said his fathers deal was always included in the cap right from the start. But where does it start and where does it end... -
THE GUIDE FOR THOSE WHO DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT THE DRAFT
s-t-i-n-g-a replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
What time does it start? -
It seems to get lost by most but that funding in part is compensation for the inequities in the draw. If we had a draw like the pies we would more than likely make up the amount we receive through better corporate return, better sponsorship $$$ though grater exposure and in turn more members through that exposure...

Tom the March press conference: "When you said you've not been approached, what about your father? Has he been approached? No, absolutely not." He then goes on to talk about how he's been open and transparent with the club...blah blah blah http://www.melbournefc.com.au/tabid/7415/default.aspx?newsid=108772 -

Finding it hard come up with the words that will do this situation justice. -
There was also an article by dr larkins raising some concern. I dont think he is an employee of the MFC.

Training - Wednesday 2 November, 2011

Anyone go? -
Ever taken time off work to attend training/do a course? Brad is captaining his country, it's a fantastic development opportunity.

Bate would be getting paid more than Walsh amd I don't think the saints have the cap space...interesting offer though...
-
can he take a grab? He needs to be more than just a big body.
-
No that was the first...
-
is he bigger than you ben?

Question: when Clark plays forward is he more a lead up forward (that's what I recall but have not watched him too close). Or is he the pack marking type? I think the latter is what we need more for our structure. If he can do both even better!

Wonder if warnock might be bundled up in this one?
-
Your bonkers!!!
-
I like it. I assume he would be on the minimum wage. We should be able to offer him more money than the saints can without breaking the bank. Wonder what they would expect for him...they are only interested in draft picks given their cap position.

Tim Harrington's cautious approach to the mini-draft
s-t-i-n-g-a replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
some good points being made here... I agree we should have had a get out point. I also agree that it may have been set a bit low. If omeara is as good as is being made out and is a player with x factor that can really impact a game...the star quality we crave then I would have paid the pick 12 and a compo pick without asking for a top 25 in return. It's not every day a top 5 draft pick (if that's where he is rated) gets traded. It was only a couple of years ago we turned down picks 8 & 9 for out pick 2. It would seem on that basis that 12 and one of our compo picks for a top 5 picks would be good value and only made possible by virtue of the rule that says GWS can't keep him (although they did try...which also tells you something). In saying that I also agree that the posters here on demonland don't know enough of the variables...just how good is the 2012 draft...just how good is omeara...etc. On the surface though it would have been good to get another elite talent to do a program with viney next year and have them both ready to roll I'm 2013 having a year in the system and learning our game plan. The point is well made that we need more elite talent not more foot soldiers...and viney, omeara, JT, mckenzie, gys looks like the right mix for a priemiership midfield to me... -
It was hard to swallow at first...And I wanted to Lynch harrington but I think he and the dees will live to fight another Day.

Fair enough. It would be an outstanding result.
-
Not all is lost here. We might be better off using 2 first rounders for a young star that's been in the system a couple of years and is more of a sure thing. We will have the cap space to lure someone and the picks to satisfy the club.
