    Did anyone else think that Hird having his daughter with him last night was staged managed? It could be that she has been through a bit too and he was trying to make her feel special. But to me it seemed more about trying to portray his image as a caring family man in response to the outcry from the mothers call earlier in the week. He remained as smug as ever in his press conference and devoid of any genuine acceptance of responsibility.

    There is an article on the AFL site that puts together an All Austrslian u23 side. For a team that has attempted to rebuild through the draft with young players it is an tragedy that we did not have one player in there. Hopefully this years crop will start to turn it around. Viney is unlike anything we drafted under BP.

    With clark out for the rest of the year that should mean we could play Magner if we wanted to. I'd be reluctant to give Taggert a game because I'm not sure that is the best thing for his development. But if we did he couldn't do much worse than Kent.

    How about the Terlich and Garland effect today? Big outs and we lost a lot of the drive and execution they provide.

    I can see why this is an issue in general but is the crux of the matter that 'self reporting' can reduce a penalty?
