  1. What a nightmare - over the next 2-6 weeks there are players at Casey that might by vying for promotion: Rivers Johnson Wonna Watts Morton Bell From last night, Bail and further down the track, LJ Cool J. Anyone I've forgotten? Solutions? I suppose the 'cheap' game has disappeared from Bailey's agenda. Looking forward to watching the juggling act.
  2. Absolutely brilliant - just made to play footy. Massive motor, magnificent attacking handballer, always takes a crunch, WILL WIN A BROWNLOW. There, I've said it!!
  3. Buddy Franklin!! Biggest [censored] ever - believes his own publicity and LOVES to have a look at himself on the big screen. ...then again, ALL of Hawthorn....
  4. You might want to drop one of the 'o's' in 'loosing', so that it becomes 'losing'
  5. Okay, it wasn't Cam's best effort today, but I thought he was better in the second half. According to the commentators, he's considered a 'creative' backman that backs himself and unfortunately he doesn't man up closely enough. Much better when released into the middle, and thankfully the coaching staff saw that and made the move - kudos to them. I have no idea who to drop - I know one thing, the way Miller is playing atm, it might be round 20 before we see him again.....
  6. Totally agree - it's time for this list to earn their keep. Last year and 2008 was the year for freebies to see if they can play. Btw, Bartram vey lucky....
  7. You're right, 100% agree - the go home factor was always going to be a biggie. I want big Jack to be fast tracked, but all these comparisons and expectations are weighing heavily on everyone. I hope he doesn't end up like a Tambling, who is completely confused about his football.
  8. btdemon, no offence, but this is a shocker of a post. Royce Hart was a tall, lanky left footer that played CHF for a team that won a couple of flags in his time. There was no zoning, so he was always up against one opponent in a match - up and 'kick it long' and the 'torp' in a big pack was the only style of attack. It was Leigh Matthews who wasn't impressed with Jack Watts, saying that there was nothing 'outstanding' about him - he is a growing boy who has a looonnggggg way to go. I hope this club doesn't rue the decision not to take Nit Nat......
  9. There are 3 players that will potentially have a day out if we don't pounce early - Tippet, Walker and Dangerfield. Whilst I respect the rest of the team, the gut-wrenching run that our youngsters now provide, will be too much for the older brigade. Hopefully DB will get the message across, run, run, RUN. Newton must stay in. He was good on Saturday, providing plenty of hard blocking for Pettard and Green. Depending on match ups, the only change would be Sylvia for Bartram.
  10. Me too! In fact, I hate Hawthorn - they cost us flags in the 80's. Astroholes.
  11. Absolutely! All the best, big fella!
  12. Not sure about Moloney - gave a passionate speech at last year's B&F, virtually telling McLean to FO, but he needs to translate this passion onto the playing field. He probably still has some development in him and if he is to put his hand up for next year, he needs to stamp his authority as an elite midfielder now.
  13. How well is he going? 34 years young (I think) and still standing up to the punishing rigours of AFL footy. I think he's been fantastic! Great attack on the ball, runs all day and never shirks an issue. Keep going, Junior, watch the youngsters blossom around you.
  14. Bit harsh here - I can think of several others. Bruce has never been an in and under, it's not his game. Having said that, clubs need players that can have the ball fed out to them, like Bruce. I think his confidence is down atm - he has a serious role to play at this club. I think he'll get better.
  15. Only watched half of tonight's game..(so boring) but I've been watching Warnock play - all you bleaters out there who were screaming 'We should get him!!!' where are you know? He's an absolute shocker. The ball hit him in the face when he was going for a mark, he falls over, goes for a tap and then.....stops. This guy is a shocker. I'd rather *gulp* big Spence, whose played all of 3 games? Thanks for not coming and costing the Blues a fortune - heavens, they're already trying to pay one prostitute who eye gouges..............
  16. LOL! This team hasn't had the biff since Northey left and they got the stuffing punched out of them in the 2000 GF. There's some sort of post - traumatic stress syndrome that seems to be festering. Similar to my other post, look at how many ferral Hawks players were running around yesterday. Frightening.
  17. I don't know the contractual arrangements of every player but I'm concerned that these elusive 'glory days' may never happen. By the time the youngsters are ready, the oldies are nearly finished. Who will make the biggest play for our talented youngsters once contracts are up? Miller and Jamar signed for a year, (Gold Coast bound perhaps) and Miller especially is playing like he can't wait to get out of the joint. By the way, everyone says he's not a forward, so what is he? Casey fodder? I'm concerned about our 3-4 year out players - no presence. No urgency. I was watching Osborne yesterday and he was a ferral pit bull. 5 foot nothing but every time he went for the ball, our players shat themselves. One last anecdote - I was coaching a school footy team one year and we had Scotty Burns down to take the session. After a couple of drills where everyone looked fantastic, he called the group in and asked them 'What makes a great footballer?' and the usual responses, 'good kick' 'no fumbling' 'team things' which he replied, no, no, no - through clenched teeth and rabies in his eyers he said..........'You got to wanna COMPETE' Now, Burns was no great shakes, but if you watched his game, he never, ever backed out of a contest. The coaching staff need to show highlights of Osborne.
  18. Footynut, great post - wouldn't avail himself for an interview, says he'll go overseas if he doesn't get his way. Hey, Luke, Uzbekistan is lovely this time of the year! [censored].
  19. what makes you think we'll get something 'decent' for him? a player who's played his last 2 years or so of footy in the twos? i'll take ANY pick.
  20. I know where you're coming from, but coming back to the Club straight away is not every player's priority. We're talking about an organisation. If you left your current employer (for whatever reason) would you go back? to make coffees? chat to the workers? I know I'm being rhetorical, but we need to look at each case differently. White and Yze are still playing and Neita is probably enjoying a Monday - Friday, 9-5 gig. As for Davey leaving, all this press sees him as mercenary, rather than the bad press falling on the Club. ANY pick in the top 10 would be sensational - free some cash to sign up our up and comers.
  21. The club tried the fat contract with Woewodin and failed miserably. Shane, too, had a massisve influence off the field - every kid had number 22 on their back, including my youngster. (at the time) As it turned out, we all know what happened....Aaron is 27 next year, he can't hold the club to ransom. 3 years is enough for him to make an impact - if he's fair dinkum about staying for culture, togetherness, brotherhood, etc etc.
  22. It'll be embarrassing for the Blues if the captain won't be there to accept his award. The tongues will be wagging and the big sponsors will want some answers. Yep, this is only a rumour but I'm glad it's causing those pricks at V$sy Park some headaches.
  23. I would do this deal today - i have a lot of tome for wellingham, i reckon he'll be okay.
